请阅读A、B两篇短文,从每小题所给的四个选项中选出最佳答案。
A
Do you know the famous saying “Impossible is nothing” It’s a slogan (口号) for a sports brand, but for many, it’s a life philosophy (人生哲学). The idea is that with enough effort and determination, you can achieve almost anything.
One great example is Liu Wei, a young man from China who lost both arms in an accident. Many people thought his dream of playing the piano was impossible. But Liu Wei didn’t let his disability hold him back. He started from zero and learned to play the piano with his toes. It was very difficult at first, but he stuck to practicing every day.
His hard work paid off. He became famous after appearing on a talent show. His performance moved millions of people. Liu Wei shows that nothing is impossible if you have a strong will and never give up. He encourages youngsters to face their fears and try their best.
( )26. What is the main idea of the passage
A. Sports brands are very important.
B. Playing the piano is easy for young people.

D. Losing arms is not a big problem.
( )27. What happened to Liu Wei
A. He lost his legs.
B. He lost his arms.
C. He lost his hearing.
D. He lost his sight.
( )28. How did Liu Wei play the piano

( )29. The underlined phrase “paid off” in Paragraph 3 probably means “______”.

C. 取得成功
D. 付出代价
( )30. What can we learn from Liu Wei’s story
A. We should never let difficulties hold us back.
B. We should only do what is possible.
C. We should not try new things.
D. We should give up when facing fears.
B
Have you ever felt that learning something new is just too difficult Maybe you think your brain is not “good enough” for math, or that you are “born” to be poor at sports. This way of thinking comes from a fixed mindset(固定型思维).
According to Dr. Carol Dweck, a famous psychologist, there is another way of thinking — the growth mindset(成长型思维). People with a growth mindset believe that their abilities can be developed through hard work and persistence. They see challenges as chances to grow, not as barriers. They don’t let failure hold them back. Instead, they learn from it and try again.
Scientists have found that our brains are like muscles. When we practice and learn new things, our brain cells make new connections. The more we use our brain, the stronger it becomes. This is called neuroplasticity(神经可塑性). It means that nothing is impossible for your brain as long as you keep trying.
So, when you face a difficult subject or skill, don’t say “I can’t do it.” Say “I can’t do it yet.” This little word “yet” makes a big difference. It turns “impossible” into “I’m possible”. As long as you stick to learning and practice, your brain will change and improve.
So, next time you meet a challenge, remember: your brain is on your side. Never let your fears hold you back. Just start from zero, keep fighting, and you will make progress.
根据短文内容,从每小题所给的四个选项中选出最佳答案。
( )31. What is a fixed mindset according to the passage
A. Believing that abilities can grow with practice.
B. Believing that you are born with certain abilities and cannot change.

D. Believing that failure is a part of learning.
( )32. People with a growth mindset ______.
A. are afraid of challenges
B. give up easily when facing difficulties
C. see challenges as chances to grow
D. think their brain cannot change
( )33. What does the underlined word “neuroplasticity” in Paragraph 3 probably mean
A. The brain’s ability to change and form new connections.
B. The brain’s ability to remember everything.
C. The brain’s ability to stay the same.
D. The brain’s ability to grow muscles.
( )34. Why does the author say the word “yet” makes a big difference
A. Because it makes the sentence longer.
B. Because it changes “impossible” into possible with effort.
C. Because it is a difficult word to use.
D. Because it means you will never succeed.
( )35. What is the main purpose of this passage
A. To tell us that our brain is like a muscle.

七、书面表达(15分)
范文:
Nothing is Impossible
Last year, I faced a big challenge. I was poor at English speaking. Every time I tried to speak in class, I felt a lot of fear and my classmates’ doubts held me back. I thought it was impossible for me to speak English well.
However, my teacher told me, “Nothing is impossible as long as you try and stick to it.” I decided to make a change. I started from zero. I tried reading English aloud every morning and practiced speaking with my friends. Although it was difficult at first, I didn’t stop. I stuck to my plan and fought my fears.
To my surprise, I made great progress. I could give an excellent answer to the teacher’s question in class. This experience taught me that nothing is impossible. Never let difficulties hold you back. Just have a try and you can make history yourself!
