Huinantian (回南天)
Do you know “Huinantian” It is a special kind of weather in the south of China in spring. When warm air from the sea meets cold walls, the water in the air turns into small drops (水滴). That’s why everything feels wet. You can see small water drops everywhere in the house, and it is hard to say if this kind of weather is good or bad.
Huinantian brings many problems to our life and health. On wet days, food goes bad easily and clothes are always wet. It is also dangerous. When home machines get wet, they may stop working and people may be in danger. Also, the wet weather may make people feel tired and it is easy for people to have a cold.
However, Huinantian is good for nature. The warm and wet air helps plants grow well. With enough water and warm weather, plants can grow faster and better. At the same time, this weather is good for animals. They can get lots of fresh clean water during this time.
There are some useful ways. First of all, we should close doors and windows in the morning and at night. This can stop wet air from coming into our houses. Second, we can put newspapers on walls and tables to take in wet air. Third, we can use home machines to keep our houses dry.
