art and encouraged me to hold on. A truth hit me – it was my responsibility to keep the art alive because the love for
puppets was in my blood.
4 The art will be popular again if young people are interested in it. So I held a puppet show at school. When I finished, I
saw something surprising: the students were completely lost in the show. Their eyes were glued to the puppets. After a
warm cheer, they came to ask where they could see more.
5 The positive reply from the young viewers gave me more courage. Since then, my puppet shows have drawn more
attention both from home and abroad. With more and more people joining in, I believe the magic of this traditional art
will last forever!

祈使句
“if 从句 + 祈使句” 的结构用来表达建议，表示“如
果……，就……吧”。
2. if 引导的条件状语从句表示某种假设的情况，主句则表示
此种情况所导致的结果。
(1) If it rains, we'll stay at home.
如果下雨，我们就待在家里。
(2) If you don't hurry, you'll be late.
如果你不快点，你会迟到的。
(3) She may come with us if she arrives in time.
如果她及时到达，就可以和我们一道去。
一般来说，这种结构中的从句如果用一般现在时，那么主句的谓语多用___________或 “___________________”。
一般将来时
情态动词 + 动词原形
if … not 意为“如果……不……”
unless也可以用来引导条件状语从句。意为“除非”，和if … not (如果……不……)的意思相近，且两个结构通常可以互换使用。
① Unless you hurry, you'll be late.
② Unless you study hard, you won't pass the exam.
= If you don't hurry, you'll be late.
= If you don't study hard, you won't pass the exam.
· if 引导的从句可以放在__________，也可以放在

· 如果把 if 从句放在_________，常用_____将其与
主句隔开。

原因状语从句
The cat hid because it saw a dog.

如果从句表示的是主句行为的原因，就构成原因状语从句。原因状语从句由表示原因的连词引导，because最为常见。
(1) I was late because I missed the bus.
我迟到了，因为我错过了公交车。
(2) Mark couldn't come because he had to work.
Mark 来不了，因为他得工作。
(3) I couldn't phone you because I didn't have
your number.
我无法给你打电话，因为我没有你的电话号码。

since 和 as 也可以用来引导原因状语从句。

· 如果原因状语从句位于句首时，常用逗号将其
