We are calling for articles about famous people around the world. Write an encyclopaedia entry and send it to us.

什么是百科词条？What is an entry
百科词条 = 事实的“身份证”
An encyclopaedia entry gives the most important facts about a subject in a clear, organised way.
When the subject is a person, we usually write about their basic information, main achievements, and awards & titles.
写作铁律
Encyclopaedia entries should contain FACTS instead of OPINIONS.
判断：事实 or 观点？

Yuan Longping was born in 1930.

He is the greatest scientist in China.

Basic information 基本信息
Yuan Longping (1930-2021) was a Chinese agricultural scientist. He was born in Beijing.
Main achievements 主要成就
Yuan spent his whole life developing different kinds of hybrid rice. These new types of plants can produce much more rice than traditional ones. Yuan's work has helped feed people in China and many other parts of the world. Farmers in a lot of countries now grow his hybrid rice.
Awards and titles 荣誉与称号
Yuan won many awards for his research. He received the Medal of the Republic, one of China's highest honours, in 2019. People call him the "Father of Hybrid Rice".
