T: Excellent! They are enjoying their holiday. Now, think about one simple question: what makes a great holiday You can use one word or a short sentence. Who wants to share your idea

T: Perfect! Thank you for your sharing.
T: As we all know, our summer holiday is over. All of us had different and special holiday experiences. Today, we are going to learn Unit 1 Happy Holiday. In this class, we will mainly talk about how people spend their holidays. Please open your books to Page 2.
Step 2 Presentation & Activity 1a (7 minutes)
T: Look at Activity 1a on your textbook. Here are six common holiday activities. Now I will read these phrases first, please listen carefully and pay special attention to the verb forms. All these activities happened in the past, so we use the simple past tense here.
T: (Read slowly and clearly) took music lessons, visited some ancient buildings, went to the mountains, visited my grandparents, went to a festival, went to a summer camp.
T: Now read after me, one by one. Ready Go!
Ss: (Read phrases together)
T: Great pronunciation! Now, here is your task. Please look at these activities carefully. Tick the activities you did in your summer holiday. If you have other holiday experiences, you can write them down in the blank lines. You have 2 minutes to finish it. Time starts now!

Step 3 Listening Practice 1b & 1c (14 minutes)
1. 1b Listen and circle (5 mins)
T: Look at 1b. We are going to listen to two conversations once. Your task is to circle the activities you hear from 1a. Before listening, please read all the phrases silently to get ready. You have 30 seconds.
T: Time’s up. Now, listen carefully!

2. 1c Listen again and complete the blanks (9 mins)
T: Now move to 1c. We have two short passages about Yaming’s and Emma’s holidays. Please look at the blanks carefully. Before listening, let’s predict what kind of words we may fill in. Some are places, some are people, and some are activities.
T: Now we will listen to the audio again. Fill in the blanks with correct words. Listen carefully and write down the key information quickly.
