（二）Step 2 2a 听对话填空
2a Listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.（课本 p.13）
Dad: Guess what! Grandpa and Grandma are visiting us this weekend!
Jim: Oh, great!
Peter: I can't wait to show them our new house!

（三）Step 3 2b 细节四问
2b Read the conversation and answer the questions.（课本 p.14）
1. Did Peter's grandparents visit his new home before Why do you think so —No, they didn't. Because Peter can't wait to show them their new house.
2. What does “grandma clean” mean —It means the room is not as clean as Grandma's standard（标准）.“但这还没达到'奶奶标准'的干净呢！”
文化内涵：西方家庭文化中，“grandma's standard” 常代表：无灰尘死角（no dust in corners）、物品完美归位（perfectly organized items）、超越日常清洁的细致（extra attention to details）。
3. Why does Helen want to go to the flower shop —To buy flowers for Grandma because Grandma loves flowers.
4. What do you usually do for your grandparents —Show care / Help with daily things / Spend enjoyable time together.
思考：Why do we spend time and effort preparing for our grandparents' visit —It's a way to show our love, respect, and gratitude for them. Every small action is filled with our care. We should cherish the time with our family members, show our love in words and actions, and make our family full of warmth and happiness.
思路点拨：“grandma clean”是幽默说法——奶奶的清洁标准比日常更高。
（四）Step 4 2c 思维导图：让祖父母宾至如归

（五）Step 5 2d 角色扮演与 2e 创编对话
2d Listen to the conversation again. Then role-play it.（五角色：Dad/Mum/Jim/Helen/Peter）表演要求：使用正确语言 、大声清晰有感情 、正确语调和恰当肢体语言 、脱离课本 。
Think and Share：What do you think is the most important thing to make grandparents feel at home —It's love and respect!
2e Peter is preparing for his friend's visit to his new home, but he needs help. In groups make up conversations between Peter and his family.（课本 p.14）备选活动：go shopping / buy drinks / buy fruit / make biscuits / cook a meal / borrow a chess set / plan a treasure hunt（策划寻宝游戏）...

思路点拨：chess set 一副棋；treasure hunt 寻宝游戏是西方家庭欢迎小客人的常见活动。
（六）Step 6 语言点：can't wait 与 borrow/lend/keep
1. I can't wait to show them our new house! 我等不及要给他们看我们的新房子了！can't wait to do sth.“迫不及待做某事”，形式否定、意义肯定。例：I will finish junior high school soon, and I can't wait to go to senior high! 我马上就要读完初中了，我迫不及待地想上高中！/ I can't wait to know the result of the exam.
拓展：can't help/stop doing sth.“情不自禁做某事/忍不住做某事”。When he heard the news, he couldn't help crying.
2. borrow v. 借（入）。辨析：borrow“借入”，指主语从别人处借来自己用，borrow sth. from sb.；lend“借出”，指主语把自己的东西借给别人，lend sth. to sb. = lend sb. sth.；keep“借；保存”，可与一段时间连用，keep sth. for + 一段时间。例：Can I borrow your pen / He lent me his book. / I keep old photos for many years.

思路点拨：判断借的方向：东西“来到”主语手上用 borrow，东西“离开”主语手上用 lend。
（七）Step 7 Further thinking：中外迎客之道
How do Western families usually show welcome to guests（客人）or relatives（亲戚） —They plan the treasure hunts. / They cook delicious food.
How about Chinese families （结合实际谈一谈：准备一桌好菜、泡茶、留宿、送特产……）

易错提醒
注意：borrow 是“借入”，lend 是“借出”，方向相反不能混用；表“借多久”须用 keep（非延续动词 borrow/lend 不能与时间段连用）。
答题技巧
①need to 后接动词原形；③空后有 on the wall，填 put the new clock；⑤空后有 by the window，填 put some flowers。
推断题从原句找依据：第 1 题的依据是 I can't wait to show them our new house.
思维导图分“清洁”与“添加物品”两类，从 2a 对话里逐句找对应动作。
拒绝请求要说明原因（Sorry, but I have to work from home all day.），同意则可加礼貌语（Sure. Here you are.）。
第 2 题注意 yesterday afternoon 提示用过去式 gave；第 3 题主语 a good hobby 是单数，动词加 -s。
语言点归纳
