Ella: Oh, what's that, Chen Jie It's so beautiful! Chen Jie: Thanks. It's a folding fan. I bought it last year. Ella: Oh! It has a painting of bamboo on it. Chen Jie: Yeah. 2. It's a symbol of goodness in Chinese culture. symbol n. ①象征（The dove is a symbol of peace. 鸽子是和平的象征。）②符号（In mathematics, “+” is a symbol for addition.）
3. useful adj. 有用的；有益的。拓展：use n.&v. 使用；useless adj. 无用的。主语+be+one of the+形容词最高级+可数名词复数+in/of 短语：……是……中最……的之一。one of... 作主语时谓语用单数（One of the performers comes from Guizhou.）
4. Please feel free to ask me any questions you have. feel free to do sth 可以随便做某事；feel free 单独使用表示“请随意；不要拘束”。

易错提醒
注意：one of the+最高级+复数名词作主语时，谓语动词用单数——One of the biggest problems is pollution. 谓语是 is 不是 are。
注意：bamboo 作定语修饰名词时用单数（bamboo toys / bamboo shoots），不要加 -s。
答题技巧
①a 后接单数名词 symbol；②③the+最高级+and+最高级；④one of the+最高级+复数 plants。
第 5 问是推断题：从 Ella 连续追问（Really Like what / Oh, that's interesting.）可判断她感兴趣。
