1b Read the text and underline the adjectives the writer uses to describe bees.（课本 p.36）答案：hard-working 勤劳的 / most important 最重要的 / most interesting 最有趣的 / most amazing 最神奇的——So bees are hard-working, important, interesting and amazing!
思路点拨：作者连用四个最高级/形容词赞美蜜蜂——划形容词就是在抓作者态度。
（三）Step 3 段落大意与结构划分
Read the text and summarize the main idea of each paragraph：①Bees' connection 万物相连（引入）②Bee's pollination 授粉（重要性）③Bees' interesting traits 蜜蜂的趣事 ④Protect bees 保护蜜蜂（问题与呼吁）。
Can you divide the text into sections —Introduction 引入（Para.1）/ Body 主体（Para.2-3）/ Conclusion 结尾（Para.4）。

We Can't Live Without Bees
Imagine you go to the supermarket in your area, but there are almost no fruits, vegetables, honey, milk, eggs, or chocolate. How would you feel Disappointed Angry Sad At this moment you realize people, plants, and animals are all connected. We need each other to live, and bees are one of the best examples of this connection.
Bees are very hard-working animals, and their greatest work is pollination. On one trip, they often visit 50 to 100 flowers. As they fly from one flower to another, they take pollen with them. This action helps plants grow. In fact, without their work, about 80 per cent of the plants in the world cannot grow. For this reason, many scientists believe that bees are the most important animals on this planet.
Bees are also one of the most interesting animals in the world. For example, they work hard together to make their homes. In order to store honey, they create honeycombs. Another interesting thing about bees is how they communicate. When a bee finds new food, it uses a dance to tell the others where and how far away the food is.
Bees play an important part in the ecosystem of our planet. However, the number of bees is dropping, and scientists are worried. Bees need our help, and there is a lot we can do. Think about what you can do to protect one of the most amazing animals on earth.

（七）Step 7 语言点：connect / without / in order to / play a part
1. connect v. 关联；连接。不及物：connect to/with... 与……连接；及物：connect...with/to/and... 把……和……联系起来。The fast Wi-Fi on China's space station helps astronauts connect with people on Earth easily. 拓展：be connected with/to 与……有关联（It's said that dragons are connected to stars and rain.）；connection n. 联系（The textbook tour is a connection between “reading thousands of books” and “travelling thousands of miles”.）
2. We Can't Live Without Bees. without prep. 没有；缺乏（反义词 with），后接名词、代词或动词-ing：A friend without faults will never be found. / People mustn't ride e-bikes without wearing helmets.
3. imagine v. 想象→imagination n. 想象力。imagine+名词/代词/doing/从句：Can you imagine life without the Internet / She couldn't imagine living in a place like that.
4. disappointed adj. 失望的（be disappointed at/with/to do）；辨析 disappointing 令人失望的（修饰事物）：—Why does Jack look so disappointed —Because he heard some disappointing news.
5. In order to store honey, they create honeycombs. in order to 为了；以便，后接动词原形，否定式 in order not to；可与动词不定式或 in order that（后接句子）互换。
6. Another interesting thing about bees is how they communicate. 本句是含表语从句的复合句；communicate with sb 与某人交流。

易错提醒
注意：in order to 后接动词原形（in order to store honey），不能接 doing；play an important part in 中的 in 是介词，后接名词或动名词。
注意：so that 后接句子（从句），in order to 后接动词原形——第 1 题横线后是 make 原形，所以选 B 不选 A。
答题技巧
科普文用事实和数据说明事物；判断依据是文中出现 80 per cent 等数据。
第 2 段数据链：一次访花 50-100 朵→传授花粉→没有蜜蜂 80% 的植物无法生长→科学家认为蜜蜂是最重要的动物。
思维导图三枝对应课文三块：importance（第 2 段）、interesting facts（第 3 段）、problem（第 4 段）。
第 4 题易错：括号给的是名词 importance，但句型 one of the+最高级+复数需要形容词 important 变最高级。
