（一）Step 1 热身：作家的成长之路
想成为作家的人，都会先读很多书——先认识两位大作家。
Warming up 职业问答链：What do you want to be —I want to be... How are you going to do that —I'm going to...（study computer science / take acting lessons / exercise every day / take singing lessons / practise violin / work hard at maths ...）
Lead-in：Who is the woman in the picture —It's J.K. Rowling. She is a writer. She writes novels like Harry Potter and The Christmas Pig. She started writing in the 1990s. She kept on writing when life was hard and finally she gave the world a classic, Harry Potter.
Who are they —Lu Xun and Lao She. They are famous writers in modern China. They wrote many great essays and classic works.

思路点拨：kept on writing when life was hard——keep on doing 正是本课核心短语，作家故事先埋伏笔。
（二）Step 2 2a 听对话填空
Pre-listening：Fu Xing and her friend Adam are talking about their dream jobs. What do they want to be when they grow up
2a Listen to the conversation and fill in the blanks.（课本 p.53）空格类型提示：n.（writer）→v.+to→n.→be+n.（a job）
Fu Xing: What are you reading, Adam Adam: It's a book of essays by a famous Chinese writer. Fu Xing: I see. You know what I want to be a Chinese writer when I grow up. Adam: Great! How are you going to do that Fu Xing: I'm going to read more classics and plan to write stories and essays. Adam: That sounds wonderful! I'm not sure what I want to be. My parents want me to be a doctor. Fu Xing: Don't worry. Not everyone knows what they want to be. Just make sure you try your best at school. Then you can do anything you want!

思路点拨：听前先看空格类型提示，名词、动词短语心中有数再听。
（三）Step 3 2b 判断正误与信息表
2b Read the conversation and decide whether these statements are true (T) or false (F).（课本 p.53）
1. Fu Xing is reading a novel by a famous Chinese writer.　2. Fu Xing is going to read classic literature.　3. Fu Xing is going to write novels.　4. Adam's parents want him to be a doctor.　5. Adam is not sure about what he wants to be.
信息表：Fu Xing—a writer—is going to read more classics and keep on writing stories and essays；Adam—Parents: a doctor；Adam: not sure—“Just make sure you try your best at school. Then you can do anything you want!”
Think：If you are clear about your dream, you should make a plan and work hard for it. If you are NOT clear, you should not worry, try your best at school, and keep exploring.

（四）Step 4 2c-2d 角色扮演与梦想调查
2c Listen to the conversation again. Then role-play it.（课本 p.53）Actors should: use correct language / speak loudly and clearly with feelings / correct tones and proper body language / without books（脱离课本）。
Retell 2a：Fu Xing is reading a book of essays. She wants to be a writer when she is older. Her plan is to read more classics and keep on writing stories. Adam thinks her plan sounds wonderful. Adam is not sure what he wants to be. His parents want him to be a doctor. Fu Xing tells him not to worry...
2d Ask your classmates about their dream jobs and how they are going to make their dreams come true.（课本 p.54）备选职业：athlete 运动员 / photographer 摄影师 / worker / doctor / painter 画家 / businessman 企业家 / farmer / actress 女演员

思路点拨：report 句型：... is going to ...——第三人称转述 be 动词用 is。
（五）Step 5 语言点：by / keep on / make sure / try one's best
1. It's a book of essays by a famous Chinese writer. by 在此处为介词，表“由……（创作、完成等）”，引出动作执行者：a painting by Picasso 一幅毕加索的画。拓展四义：①通过……（方式手段）后接名词/动名词——We can learn English by watching English movies. / She goes to school by bike. ②在……旁边靠近——There is a small garden by the river. / Come and sit by me. ③不迟于；在……之前——Please finish your homework by 9 o'clock. / We need to get to the station by noon.
2. I'm going to keep on writing stories and essays. keep on doing sth 继续；反复做，相当于 keep doing sth：Keep (on) going towards our goals and we will make great progress. 拓展：①keep sb doing sth 让某人一直做——Why did you keep him waiting so long ②keep sb/sth from doing sth 阻止——The storm kept us from going out.
3. Just make sure you try your best at school. ①make sure 确保；保证，常用于祈使句：make sure+(that) 从句（that 常省略）——Make sure (that) you get everything ready before the exam. / make sure of (doing) sth——We must make sure of the facts. ②try one's best 尽最大努力，相当于 do one's best：try/do one's best to do sth——If you want to win first prize, you should try your best.
金句：No pain, no gain. No effort, no progress. No dedication, no success. 把握现在，只有这样你才能勇敢地面对未来。
思路点拨：make sure 后的 that 从句口诀：祈使句里报平安，从句可省 that。

注意：essay 小品文、文章与 novel 长篇小说是不同文体，判 T/F 时紧扣原文用词。
注意：by doing 表方式时后接动名词（by watching），不接动词原形；keep on 后接 doing，不接 to do。
注意：lawyer 律师与 law 法律同源——学 law 的人成为 lawyer；actress 由 actor+ess 构成。
答题技巧
第 2 空 plan to 后接动词原形——打算做某事；第 4 空 want sb to be 想让某人成为。
第 1、3 题都在“名词细节”上设错：essay≠novel，stories and essays≠novels。
职业与计划匹配抓“职业专属动作”：medical school→医生、camera→摄影师。
完成句子先圈汉语关键词：“通过”→by doing、“继续做”→keep on doing、“确保”→make sure、“尽最大努力”→try one's best。
第 6 题主语 the young athlete 是第三人称单数，keep 要加 s；practise 用动名词。
语言点归纳
by 四义：由……创作 / 通过（方式）+doing / 在……旁边 / 不迟于；
keep on doing=keep doing 继续；keep sb doing 让某人一直做；keep...from doing 阻止；
make sure+(that) 从句 / make sure of (doing) sth；
try one's best=do one's best，try one's best to do sth 尽力做某事。
