热身：We are classmates. We can make friends with our classmates. 同班同学是最容易交到的朋友。

看图找线索：图中有 Chen Jie、Mr Smith 和一位新同学——他们是初次见面，话题很可能围绕姓名、班级、老师展开。

（二）Step 2 2a 听对话圈词与全文理解
2a Listen to the conversation and circle the words you hear.（课本 p.21）对话全文：
Chen Jie: Hello, Mr Smith!　Mr Smith: Hello, Chen Jie. How are you 　Chen Jie: I'm good / fine, thank you. Mr Smith, this is my new friend / classmate, Peter. Peter, this is our English teacher, Mr Smith. He's from the US.　Mr Smith: Hi, Peter. Nice to meet you.　Peter: Nice to meet you too, Mr Smith.　Mr Smith: What / Which class are you in, Peter 　Peter: I'm in Class 1.　Mr Smith: Who's your class teacher 　Peter: Ms Hui.　Chen Jie: Oh, Peter, it's Ms Gao, not Ms Hui. Hui is her first name.　Peter: Oh, sorry! / I'm sorry! My mistake.

（三）Step 3 2b 读对话答问与中西姓名文化
2b Read the conversation and answer the questions.（课本 p.21）

2. What is the first name of Peter's class teacher 　A. Hui.　B. Gao.
Look and match（以 Gao Hui 为例）：first name—Hui（名）　last name—Gao（姓）　full name—Gao Hui（全名）
文化聚焦（Cultural Focus）：In the western countries, the first name is the real name（名），and the last name is the family name（姓）——名前姓后；In China, we put the last name in the first——姓前名后。

2c Read the conversation and complete the table with the information about Mr Smith and Peter.（课本 p.22）
Mr Smith：Country—the US；Job—English teacher。　Peter：Class—Class 1；Class teacher—Ms Gao。
2d Listen again and pay attention to the pronunciation of who's, I'm, he's, and it's. Then role-play the conversation.（课本 p.22）
三人一组：Student 1 扮 Mr Smith　Student 2 扮 Chen Jie　Student 3 扮 Peter。评分标准：1. 声音洪亮、对话流利、内容正确；2. 有肢体语言和感情；3. 脱离课本。

思路点拨：表演时加上握手、微笑等肢体语言，把 sorry 的歉意语气读出来。
（五）Step 5 2e 问答操练（Pair work）
2e Complete the table with what you know about these students. Then ask and answer questions about them.（课本 p.22）
已知信息：Peter Brown—the UK，Class 1，Ms Gao；Ella Miller—12 岁；Chen Jie—China；Song Meimei—12 岁。

易错提醒
注意：My mistake.＝我的错、是我的失误，是口语中认错的常用表达；Ms Hui 错在哪？Hui（慧）是名不是姓，称呼老师要用姓——Ms Gao。
注意：中国人姓名拼音连写时姓在前（Song Meimei），姓的首字母大写；西方人 first name 在前——first 指“排在前面的”，不是“重要的”。
注意：who's＝who is（谁），读作 /hu z/；What class are you in 中 What 不能换成 Which class 的场合——课本对话两可，但问“你在几班”最常用 What class。
注意：he/she 的物主代词分别是 his/her——What's her name Her name is Ella Miller.；his 配 he、her 配 she。
注意：Her name's Lily. 中 name's＝name is——人名前用 Her 不用 She；第 5 题 Jim and I 是两个人，用 are。
答题技巧
介绍他人用固定句式：This is…（不用 He is/She is）——This is my new classmate, Peter.
判断中外姓名先看整体：像 Gao Hui、Song Meimei 这种两个字头是姓（中文顺序）；像 Peter Brown 这种名短姓也短的分不清时，回忆课文线索（Peter Brown 课文中 Brown 是姓）。
填表格回原文定位：Mr Smith 的信息在 Chen Jie 介绍句里（He's from the US / our English teacher），Peter 的信息在问答句里。
问句与答句的人称、代词要配套：问 What's his name 答 His name is…；问 How old is she 答 She's 12 years old.
be 动词选择题先看主语：I→am、He/She→is、Jim and I（复数）→are；缩写互换题左右互换检查一遍。
语言点归纳
This is… 介绍他人（不用 He is/She is）；
first name 名 / last name 姓 / full name 全名——西方名前姓后，中国姓前名后；
My mistake. 我的错；who's＝who is；
问答链：What's his/her name → Where's he/she from → What class is he/she in → Who's his/her class teacher → How old is he/she
