In China today, more and more young people are discovering the past—not just by visiting museums, but also by restoring cultural relics (修复文物). These young relic restorers are breathing new life into ancient treasures, so that they won’t be lost in time.
Xie Li is a relic restorer at the Sanxingdui Museum in Sichuan Province. Born in the 1990s, she has spent 11 years in the field. And she has seen (已经目睹) the change in the field over the past years with her own eyes. “When I was a student, only one or two out of a class of 70 or 80 would go into heritage (遗产) work,” Xie said. “Now, in a class of about a hundred, many are choosing this job.”
Xie really loves her work. “Every time I finish restoring a piece of relic, I feel a great sense of satisfaction (满足),” she said. “It seems that I bring it back to life.”
Not long ago, Xie took part in the 2025 National Cultural Heritage Vocational Skills Competition. She won second prize for restoring a bronze mask (青铜面具). The competition brought together relic restorers born from the 1960s to the 2000s. Some winners are as young as 20 to 30 years old.

What Is Incomplete Plosion
In English pronunciation, incomplete plosion is a very common phenomenon. It happens when a plosive sound (爆破音) like /p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /k/, or /g/ is followed by another consonant sound. In this case, the first plosive sound is not fully released. You just make the mouth position for the sound and then quickly move to the next sound.
For example, in the word “doctor”, the letter “c” is not fully pronounced. The word is pronounced as / d kt (r)/, but the /k/ sound is incomplete. In the phrase “sit down”, the /t/ in “sit” is not fully released. You just make the /t/ position and then go to the /d/ sound of “down”.
Incomplete plosion makes English sound more natural and smooth. When you speak English, you can try to use this skill. It will help you sound more like a native speaker.
6.What is incomplete plosion
7.How many plosive sounds are mentioned in the text
8.What happens to the first plosive sound in incomplete plosion

In most places of the world, a five-day work week is common. But in some places, people are starting to pay workers the same money for working just four days a week.
The idea isn’t new but businesses have been slow to try it. They may be worried about getting less work for their money. But the result of a last year’s test shows the change may be good for both businesses and workers.
Last June, 51 UK companies agreed to take part in the four-day work week test. In July, another 10 companies joined, too. They paid their workers the same money and told their workers to try to do as much in four days as they usually did in five. It took six months to do the test, and the result was good for most businesses.
During the test, some companies had fewer meetings, or made sure they were shorter. Others used technology to help workers to finish their work quickly. Some companies created a “focus time” so workers could work on just one thing. So, workers worked faster and better. What’s more, the companies made more money.
Most workers were pleased with the four-day work week. Some people said they could get more training and take care of things at home. Others said they could spend more time with their families.
At the end of the test, ninety-two percent of the companies taking part in the test said they planned to keep the four-day work week.

“Only when I take the needle out and touch the silk thread do I feel fully comfortable,” said Zou Yingzi. She is a 53-year-old Su embroidery (苏绣) artist.
Zou is from Suzhou, the hometown of Su embroidery. She learned the art from her mother and grandmother. At 6, she began to help her mother make embroideries. Su embroidery is not easy to make. It’s famous for its amazing details. A single silk thread can be split (分开) into 16 or more thin strands (股). Zou uses these strands to make a cat’s fur or a bird’s feather. It takes much time even a small piece needs months to finish. But Zou loves her work. “I can work for days without sleep to make a fine piece,” she said.
Su embroiderers can make works look like oil paintings or photos. They can also stitch (绣) on both sides of silk. The pattern is clear on both the front and back. Silk is delicate. Many people around the world don’t know simple facts about food. Many governments (政府) want to teach students about food in school. That’s because they want students to learn more about food and know its importance.
At school, children learn many things about food. They learn how to eat well, how to grow food and why we should not waste food. This helps students choose better food every day, know where their meals come from, and waste less (更少).
For example, in Britain, students aged 7 to 14 must learn to cook easy food. In this way, they learn a useful skill and how to eat healthily.
In the United States, many schools get fresh food from local (当地的) farms. Students sometimes visit these farms to learn. In some schools, children also learn to grow their own fruits and vegetables. When they grow food themselves, they learn to value it more and try not to waste it.

Has a person ever warmly held a door open for you How do you feel after playing with friends And what would you say is your favourite family memory These questions have one thing in common; they’re all about connecting with people. “Let’s Connect” is the theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week. It improves mental health by building healthy social connections.
Humans naturally connect with others, whether that’s family, friends or people in our community. Healthy connections give people energy and support—we all need people to celebrate and share our worries with. Social connections aren’t just about mental health; they improve physical health, too, helping us to live a long life.
Then how to connect with others “You can reach out and connect with people in so many different ways,” says Julia Clements, the organizer behind Children’s Mental Health Week. You can connect in person or online, with your friends, parents, teachers or classmates. It’s not just people either. “Some people feel connected with their pets or in nature,” says Clements. She agrees talking to others can be helpful to a lonely person. She advises making time to build more connections through actions as well as words.
Everybody may feel lonely sometimes and refuse to talk to others. “Remember that there are always people that care for you,” advises Clements. She says it’s important to tell someone you trust about how you are feeling, or safe organizations such as Helpline or Shout. They can really help.

Doing sports is a big part of a healthy daily life. Yet many parents worry that their kids aren’t interested in playing sports. What are the reasons behind this
One common reason is that kids don’t know how to play most sports. If they learn the basic rules of a new sport, they may start to enjoy it. For example, taking PE lessons at school is a great way to pick up new sports skills. They can also watch short sports videos online or read picture books about sports to learn the basics. Another reason some kids dislike sports is that they don’t have fun when playing in a team. For these kids, talking to their PE teachers or parents can help. With their advice, kids may find a better way to enjoy team games again.
There are so many different sports out there, so every child can find one that fits them. If a kid doesn’t like team sports like basketball, they can try individual (个人的) sports such as swimming, running, or cycling.
Playing sports is an excellent way to keep fit and make kids feel energetic every day. Besides sports, daily activities like walking the dog, tidying the bedroom or watering plants can also keep kids active and moving. What about you What’s your favourite way to stay active

Liaison and Assimilation in English
In English, words do not always sound the same when they are spoken together in a sentence. Two important pronunciation features are liaison and assimilation.
Liaison means linking sounds. When one word ends with a consonant sound and the next word begins with a vowel sound, we often link them together. For example, “see a doctor” is pronounced as “see-a-doctor” with a linking /j/ sound between “see” and “a”. “An apple” is pronounced as “a-napple” with a linking /n/ sound.
Assimilation is when a sound changes to become more like a neighboring sound. For example, “hot pepper” is often pronounced as “hop pepper” because the /t/ changes to /p/ before the /p/. This makes speech faster and more natural.
Learning these features can help you speak English more fluently and understand native speakers better. It is a very useful skill.

When the exam comes, stress may come along. Here are some methods. They help me and my friends through this season.
When I have the stress of exams, I stop to take a walk. I usually walk my dog for about fifteen minutes. Many boys would choose to play ball games. Doing some exercise drives away (驱散) your stress most of the time.
And if you find music helpful, have a try. Listening to your favorite songs will surely make you relaxed. The best thing about this is that you don’t have to go outside.
But if you are a book lover just like me, read a book you like for half an hour. Hold the book close to your face, and you’ll lose yourself in the stories of the book and it helps you stay in a good mood.
For sure, there’s nothing better than laughter. Though life is not easy and full of problems, laughter is the best medicine. It can really keep worries away from your mind! Very often I call my best friend and we tell each other about our good times or something funny, and I’ll feel better before I know it.
Try these methods when you worry about an exam, and you will feel much better.
