三、阅读理解
Many people think space is cold, quiet and boring. However, China’s Tiangong Space Station gives us a different answer. For Chinese taikonauts, the space station is not only a place for science work, but also a warm home with many fun activities. The wonderful life in space also shows the great progress of China’s space industry.
One unforgettable highlight in Tiangong is the space barbecue. In 2025, Chinese scientists created a special smokeless oven for space use. Astronauts from Shenzhou-20 and Shenzhou-21 cooked tasty chicken wings and steak. They baked the food at 180℃ for 28 minutes. Because of the special zero-gravity environment, the food slowly floats and turns around. Six astronauts shared the delicious hot food together, just like having a happy party in space.
Besides enjoying hot meals, astronauts are also hard-working “space gardeners”. There is a small high-tech farm inside the space station. Up to now, astronauts have planted several kinds of plants, such as lettuce, small tomatoes and sweet potatoes. They use special lights to help plants grow and take good care of them every day. So far, they have harvested more than 4.5 kilograms of fresh vegetables. What’s amazing is that lettuce and tomatoes can grow from seeds and finally produce new seeds in space. This is an important success for long-time space living.
Space life is full of warmth, especially during Chinese traditional festivals. Now astronauts have over 190 kinds of space food to choose from. During the Spring Festival, Tianzhou cargo spaceships sent special gifts and festival food to the station. Astronauts could put up Spring Festival couplets, write calligraphy and eat floating dumplings. These familiar foods made them feel less lonely far away from home.

My name is Zhang Yufu. I have been driving trucks (卡车) in Yunnan for 15 years. But nothing prepared me for the phone call on August 3rd, 2021. “We need you to guide some elephants,” the voice said. “Elephants In my truck ” With questions in my mind, I set off for Yuanjiang.
In Yuanjiang area, I saw other truck drivers. None of us had ever seen wild elephants. We were given a simple but alarming task: close off all roads except the bridge.
For five days, we lived in our trucks. Every night, we heard stories about the elephants. The group was led by an adult female, with males guarding them. They lived in Xishuangbanna. Dry weather had made them move north to find a better place to live. Now the rainy season came. It was time for them to return. Elephants are very smart. Before moving, they chose routes with fewer people to protect their babies.
But the Yuanjiang River was a big problem. Heavy rain raised the water level, and the group couldn’t cross the river with two of the baby elephants. So the experts decided to help. They planned to block other roads with our trucks, leave corn along the way and guide the elephants to cross only the Yuanjiang Bridge.
At 7:30 p.m. on August 8, my radio rang, “They are coming. Stay in your trucks. No lights! No noise!”
My heart beat fast. Fourteen huge shadows moved like slow, gray hills. The leader stopped at the bridge. She raised her trunk and sniffed the air. For a long minute, she didn’t move. We all held our breath.
Then, slowly, she stepped onto the bridge. One by one, the others followed. The babies stayed in the middle, protected by all adults on all sides. The 40 minutes’ crossing seemed like a lifetime. When the last elephant disappeared into the forest, everyone cheered.
Now whenever I cross the Yuanjiang Bridge, a picture of the mother elephant stepping on the bridge always appears in my mind. It reminds me that we have one shared home.

As young people, many of us dream of becoming “somebody” when we grow up. However, without enough strength or support, we often feel far away from this imagined destination. At times, strange thoughts pop up in our minds: Should we just give up and “lie flat” instead
Not the little piggy and his three friends from the animated hit Nobody.
This past summer, their story entertained and inspired tens of millions of moviegoers across China. The four little, nameless monsters pretend to be the famous quartet from Journey to the West. They leave Langlang Mountain and set out on their own pilgrimage (朝圣之旅). Along the way, many other monsters laugh at their dreams. But the little pig monster and his friends are not discouraged. They keep fighting bad guys and trying to live life on their own terms.
Some say that Nobody is not just a movie, rather, it’s more like a mirror. In real life, many ordinary people also choose to hold on to their dreams, even though they face great difficulties.
One of them is Pang Zhongwang, now a star student at Tsinghua University. Twenty-six years ago, however, he was born a poor “nobody” in the countryside of Hebei. His mother had a disability and couldn’t work. His father suffered from a serious mental illness. Despite all these challenges, Pang, under his mother’s influence, grew up positively. He started to shoulder family duties at a young age. And deep down, this “nobody” also dreamed of becoming “somebody”. With great effort, he always achieved excellent grades in school. In 2017, he caught national attention by scoring an impressive 684 out of 750 in the college entrance examination.
Pang turns out to be luckier than the four monsters in Nobody. He is much closer to his dream of becoming “somebody”. The piggy and his friends, however, fail in their pilgrimage. But their courage is now remembered by many people. In a way, they also have grown to become “somebodies”.
Now, what do you want to do with your big dreams Clearly, if you “lie flat”, you’ll remain a “nobody”. We wish you good luck as you try to break out of your own “Langlang Mountain”!

Humans are good at certain things but bad at other things. We once thought that we were unbeatable at board games like chess and Go (围棋). But now we know that developed AI systems can beat the best human players. Today, there are other jobs which AI systems can perform better than humans. 36
Truly intelligent machines must be able to learn. 37 For example, it takes humans only about 20—30 hours to learn how to drive properly, but at present no machines can drive independently as well as a human, even after thousands of hours.
38 They worry that machines will become smarter than humans and become too powerful. Actually, intelligence does not mean one will control the other. Another problem is how to control the behaviour of intelligent machines. We can “educate” machines to behave properly — the same way we educate our kids. We can make rules for them to make sure their behaviour is proper.
Every new technology brings with it some unexpected results. 39 What excites me most about the future of AI is discovering more secrets of intelligence. That would help us build more intelligent systems. 40 I also hope that we will be able to improve AI more successfully to help us live more comfortable lives in the future.
A.Today some machines are so intelligent that some people consider them to be a risk.
B.I am confident in our ability to deal with the problems of new technologies successfully as they arise.
C.Humans learn naturally, but the best learning machines still cannot learn like humans.
D.So we can better understand the world.
E.But even the most intelligent systems are good at only a few kinds of jobs.
F.AI has already replaced all human workers in every industry.
