Host: AI is quickly becoming part of our everyday life. Nowadays, it’s not difficult to find that we usually use AI apps several times a day. Then, should people be polite to AI during conversations with it Now, express your opinions about this topic freely.
Ethan I think we should treat AI in the same way as we treat other people. Our world needs more kindness, and when we practise it — whether toward people or technology — kindness can spread. Being kind, even to AI, helps build good habits and personalities.
Asha In my opinion, it’s more important to focus on being clear and direct during conversations. I’m sure we can all agree that being polite to living creatures (生物) is necessary, but being smart about the use of AI holds more value than just thinking about whether we should be polite to a machine. Long ago, every foreigner who came to China would usually choose to climb the Great Wall or visit the Palace Museum, but now, many foreign visitors have a new “must-do” on their list: going to hospital.
In recent years, medical tourism has become very popular in China. More and more international patients are visiting China for medical treatment. China has been carrying out its “toilet revolution (厕所革命)” for many years. Now, the toilets across the country have seen a quiet change.
At Changbai Mountain in Jilin Province, there is a special public toilet. Though it’s in a busy scenic area (景区), the toilet is not only beautiful but also practical. Both men’s and women’s sections include nearly everything a tourist might need. Besides necessary things like toilet paper and hand dryers, they even provide drinking water and heating. “Although it’s freezing outside, it’s warm inside,” said one tourist from Fujian. What surprised him most was the toilet’s water-free flushing system (无冲水系统). “It replaces water with foam (泡沫), which prevents water splashing (防止水飞溅) and even leaves a pleasant smell,” he added.
In Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, the “Qingcheng Rest Spot” has improved its public toilet too. It provides different areas, including accessible toilets (无障碍厕所), a baby care room, a drinking room and a reading area. Such designs help everyone use toilets with ease.
Besides the two places mentioned above, many families in the countryside are leaving their old toilets behind. The Chen family from Wuhan is one example. “Our toilet used to smell so bad that you could hardly stand near it,” Chen said. “On rainy days, the rough and muddy (泥泞的) roads around it became so dangerous that my grandfather could easily fall over.” But now, everything has changed. Their new bathroom is tiled (铺瓷砖的). “We can even take a shower and wash clothes in it,” Chen said happily.
From scenic spots to the countryside, this revolution shows that even small changes can make a big difference in people’s lives.

Great changes have taken place in my hometown. Let me tell you some.
In the past, people lived in small, old and broken houses. Rubbish could be seen everywhere and lots of trees were cut down. Most people went out on foot. Young people looked up to singers and actors as their idols.
But now, most people have moved into new houses. There is plenty of green plants in communities and the natural environment becomes beautiful. What’s more, young people regard scientists, doctors and teachers as their heroes.
I believe my hometown will become even more wonderful in the future.
