On November 26, 2025, a terrible fire broke out in Hung Fuk Court, Hong Kong. The fire started from the outside of the buildings and spread very fast. Easy-to-burn materials made the fire get bigger quickly. This fire caused great losses. Many people were hurt, and some even lost their lives. Firefighters worked hard to put out the fire and save people. This unexpected event tells us that fire safety is very important for everyone.
To keep safe from fires, we should do well in daily prevention first. Don’t put easy-to-burn things like old clothes or paper boxes on balconies or stairs, as they can easily catch fire. Remember to turn off electrical tools such as phone chargers (充电器) and lights when you don’t use them.
If a fire really happens, stay calm and don’t panic. Cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel to keep smoke out, and use stairs instead of lifts because lifts may get stuck during a fire. If you can’t run away, go to a room with a window. First close the door tightly and fill gaps (缝隙) with wet cloth. Then wave bright clothes at the window to ask for help. Also, it’s necessary to remember the fire exit routes (路线) of your home or school and take fire drills seriously.
Fire safety is a life-saving skill that can help us protect ourselves and our families.

Mr Ji quickly walked up and saw a young boy sitting on the road. His head was bleeding. The boy, a primary school student, was riding a bike very fast and didn’t see a truck (卡车) stopping by the roadside in the rain. He hit the truck and hurt his head. Mr Ji let the boy get into his car. Then he drove his car to a hospital nearby quickly. A doctor checked the boy carefully and covered his wound with gauze (纱布). Mr Ji is well worth learning from. There are also some suggestions for riders. First, children under 12 should not ride a bike on the road since it can be really dangerous. What should you do when you can’t find the time to do a long workout Have you heard of exercise snacks (零食式锻炼)
Exercise snacks are a popular and inventive new way for people to stay fit. Instead of spending hours in a gym, people break that “large meal” into exercise “snacks”. These exercises can last anywhere from 20 seconds to 2 minutes. Then you can rest for 30 minutes to 4 hours before your next snack.
It is reported that exercise snacks can be as useful as traditional exercise methods. Just three exercise snacks a day can benefit your physical health. Also, “snacking” throughout the day prevents you from sitting too long.
There are so many effective exercise snacks, like doing sit-ups, jumping rope or running up and down some stairs. But for those who don’t know where to start, here are some helpful exercise choices:
Exercises like lifting weights can meet your strength-training needs. Since most people don’t have weights at their offices, they can lift full water bottles.
Squats (深蹲)—moving your body as if to sit down while keeping your back straight. Doing five to ten squats makes a good snack.
For those who don’t like traditional exercises, simply turn up the music. Play lively music and start dancing. It’ll make for a fun workout.
What are you waiting for Let’s get moving. Your body will thank you for it!
24.How long can each exercise snack last
25.What can people use if they don’t have weights at the office
26.What body part should stay straight while you are doing squats
27.What problem do exercise snacks help avoid
28.Design a one-minute exercise snack using only a school bag and explain the steps.

Cooking is a fun and helpful skill, but it hides unexpected dangers. Every year, many home cooks get hurt from small accidents—like hot oil burns, knife cuts, or tiny kitchen fires. Most of these problems don’t come from cooking being hard, but from poor safety sense or bad daily habits.
15-year-old Leo wanted to fry chicken for his family’s lunch last month. He poured oil into a pan, turned the stove to high heat, and then ran to his room to watch a video. He never thought his little carelessness would bring big trouble soon. He totally forgot about the oil until a strong burning smell flew into his room. Rushing back, he saw the oil boiling and catching fire. In a great panic, he took a cup of water and poured it on the flames. The fire shot up (猛地窜起) at once. Luckily, his mom heard the noise, ran in, and covered the pan with a metal lid (金属锅盖). The fire went out right away. Leo’s arm got a small burn, and the pan was destroyed. From this terrible accident, Leo knew a key safety rule: If oil catches fire, never use water—use a metal lid or a fire extinguisher instead.
For us, it’s necessary (必要的) to form good cooking habits and learn some home safety knowledge in daily life. Right safety ideas can help us stay away from sudden burns and all kinds of dangerous kitchen accidents.
34.What causes most cooking accidents
35.What did Leo do after he turned the stove to high heat
36.What wrong action did Leo take when the oil was on fire
37.What can we use to put out an oil fire
38.What advice can you give Leo to avoid cooking accidents

Healthy Eating Habits for Teenagers
As a teenager, what you eat plays a big role in how you grow and how you feel. Here are some important tips for developing healthy eating habits.
First, eat a balanced breakfast every day. Breakfast gives you energy for the morning. Studies show that teenagers who eat breakfast do better in school than those who don’t.
Second, eat more fruits and vegetables. They are full of vitamins and minerals that help your body grow strong. Try to eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
Third, drink plenty of water. Your body needs water to work properly. Avoid sugary drinks like soda and sweetened juice. They add extra calories but provide little nutrition.
Fourth, don’t skip meals. Some teenagers skip meals because they think it will help them lose weight. However, skipping meals can make you feel tired and even lead to overeating later.
Fifth, limit junk food. Foods like chips, candy, and fast food are high in fat, sugar, and salt. Eating too much junk food can lead to weight problems and other health issues.
Finally, eat with your family when possible. Studies suggest that teenagers who eat family meals tend to have healthier diets and are less likely to develop eating disorders.

What to Do in a House Fire
A house fire is one of the most frightening emergencies you can face. But if you stay calm and follow these steps, you can increase your chances of survival.
First, get out and stay out. If you hear the smoke alarm or smell smoke, leave the house immediately. Don’t stop to get your phone, money or toys. Once you are outside, do not go back in for any reason.
Second, stay low to the ground. Smoke rises, so the air near the floor is cleaner and cooler. Crawl on your hands and knees to the nearest exit. Cover your mouth and nose with a cloth to help you breathe.
Third, check doors before opening them. Touch the door with the back of your hand. If it is warm, do not open it. Find another way out. If it is cool, open it slowly and carefully. Be ready to close it quickly if there is smoke or fire behind it.
Fourth, if your clothes catch fire, stop, drop and roll. Cover your face with your hands and roll back and forth on the ground until the flames go out.
Finally, call 119 from a neighbour’s phone or a safe place. Tell the operator your address clearly. Stay outside and wait for the firefighters to arrive.
