In September 2026, the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held at Shougang Park in Beijing. One of the most popular exhibition zones was the Environmental and Energy Services Zone, where dozens of companies showed their latest green and low-carbon technologies.
Among the exhibits, a model of a "zero-carbon school campus" attracted many young visitors. In this design, solar panels on rooftops provide all the electricity needed for classrooms, while smart sensors turn off lights and air conditioners automatically when no one is around. Rainwater is collected from building roofs and used to water trees and grass on the sports field.
"Green transition is not just about big power stations; it starts with our daily lifestyle," said an engineer at the exhibition. "Schools are the best place to practise low-carbon habits. When students see how technology saves energy, they will naturally form green habits."
Many middle schools across China have already taken action. In Beijing and Shanghai, students have set up "Green Patrol Teams" to check energy waste in classrooms. In Shenzhen, a middle school has recycled more than five tons of waste paper since last term, using the money to buy trees for the campus.
Small actions by teenagers are creating a greener future. As the Chinese proverb goes, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."

In the future, I will stick to my plan step by step. I believe that as long as I work hard and never give up, I will make my dream come true.
