【答案】例文
Hi Peter,
I’m glad to receive your email. Now I’d like to tell you my senior high school life.
We have more subjects than before and our daily schedule is much tighter. I get up early in the morning and finish classes late every day, with little spare time for my hobbies.
The biggest challenge is that the lessons are more difficult. I have to spend more time reviewing what I’ve learned and figuring out complex knowledge points after class.
Though occupied with heavy schoolwork, I really enjoy my brand new school life. I’m ready to try my best and make steady progress in the coming days.
Yours,
Li Hua黑龙江省佳木斯市第八中学2026-2027学年高一上学期9月阶段检测英语试题

The door opened. “We’ve been waiting for you!” Mrs Black said in a loud voice. She was my new fifth grade teacher. With a smile my mum walked away and I was left taking centre stage in front of a group of students.
Over the next few days, Mrs Black tried to find me a new good friend. During history lessons, when I didn’t want to speak in front of the class, she would ask me to stand up and address my classmates.
One spring afternoon, Mrs Black told me to stay after class. “I’d like to have a word with you, Amya.” My mind raced. Had I got a low grade Had I hurt anyone’s feelings “Are you enjoying your new school ” Sitting comfortably behind her desk, she said in a soft voice. “I want to tell you a secret, just between you and me.” She continued, “I see something special in you. I think you have great potential to be somebody very important, but you must believe that you can succeed. That’s very important. Remember that and you will go far,” she said. I listened carefully to every word.

Modern technology has a strong influence on every part of our life, including the education in the universities.
Ashok Goel, a professor in Georgia Institute of Technology, says he uses the Internet in almost all of the classes he teaches. Every term over 300 graduate students take his class on artificial intelligence. The students never meet in person. All of the classes take place online — through a website, which lets students ask questions and complete their work from anywhere in the world.
Having hundreds of students in a class means Ashok Goel has to answer thousands of questions. He has eight teaching assistants to help him. But even that is not enough to give all the students the help they need.
In January, Goel had an idea. He decided to try an experiment. At the start of the spring 2016 term, he added a new member to his teaching team: Jill Watson. She was able to answer questions faster than most other teaching assistants. And she was available 24 hours a day.
It was only at the end of the term that Goel’s students learnt Watson’s true identity: she was not a real person like the other teaching assistants. Jill Watson was an AI computer program.
And it seems Goel’s stories will become more common in the universities. According to a survey done in August by the website called “Campus Technology”, more and more American professors combined online materials and face to face teaching in their classrooms.

A. one's hometown B. Who a person is. C. one's prize and reward D. one's daily hobby
9. What is the passage mainly about
A. Online courses help students save plenty of money.
B. New technology helps teachers do difficult experiments.
C. Modern technology greatly influences college education.
D. More college students choose to study at home alone.
10. Why did Goel add Jill Watson to his teaching team
A. He wanted to reduce his own teaching work completely.
B. The eight teaching assistants couldn't help all students enough.
C. His students asked for a 24-hour online helper.
