My love of books comes from my mother. Because of her, our home is full of books on different subjects.
When I was a child, my mother used to sit me on her knee, tell me stories, and teach me how to read. Soon, I was reading by myself. Over time, I found children’s books no longer kept me interested. So I started reading other books, newspapers, and magazines. I especially enjoyed popular science books and books about the lives of famous people. After dinner, I would just pick a book from the shelf to read in my room. Reading opened up new worlds and allowed me to discover new things for myself. In general, I prefer print books, but sometimes I read e-books. I think that reading is great fun.
Now that I am older, I can always find time to read in the school library. I believe that reading has helped me a lot with my schoolwork and made me more confident about my future.

I have a deep love for reading just like Chen Lei. My love of reading comes from my mother.
When I was a child, she told me lots of nice stories every night. Over time, I started reading children’s books on my own. Now I spend about six hours reading in my spare time each week. I usually read at home after school, and sometimes I read at the library on weekends. I prefer storybooks and science fiction most. The most recent book I read was Jane Eyre, and I really enjoyed its warm stories.
I keep reading because reading brings me great fun and opens up new worlds to me. Besides, it enlarges my vocabulary and helps me a lot with my schoolwork. It makes me more confident about my future, so I will stick to reading all the time.

As we know, English listening and speaking are really important in learning English. Here are some practical methods to improve them.
Firstly,I believe that the best way to train your ear is to watch English movies. Try to repeat the dialogues aloud and copy the natural pronunciation. This not only improves your listening but also helps your speaking.
Secondly, you can practise speaking by talking to friends in English. The more you speak, the better you'll become. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Learning from mistakes is, in part, the key to progress.
In addition, you can get guidance from learning apps or websites. They also provide exercises to build up your skills. Remember to set clear goals and take things step by step.
