Learn about Our Past
I often learn about history by visiting old museums and reading history books. I love these ways because they bring the old days close to me.
Learning history teaches me two important lessons. First, if we know about our past mistakes, we will not repeat them. Second, history tells us how our ancestors worked hard for a better life.
From history, I realize we should treasure our present life. We need to pass our history on to more young people because only when we remember the past can we move forward bravely.

Many people spend their vacations doing nothing on a beach, but Kirsty Ross wanted to do something different. “I spent three weeks working in the sun, digging to find pieces of old cups and plates,” she says. “I worked really hard all day and I slept in a tent. My friends thought I was crazy, but I had an amazing time. It was my best vacation ever!”
Kirsty was working for a volunteer program in Tunisia in North Africa. Groups of twenty-five young volunteers work together on archaeological sites to find important information about the past. The volunteers have to be very careful, because it’s important not to damage the things they find. Many of them work at Tunisia’s biggest archaeological site in Carthage, but some of them work in other important sites in the country.
Kirsty explains why she chose this vacation. “I’ve always been interested in history, and Tunisia has a lot of very important archaeological sites. People were living in Carthage 3,000 years ago. I love being in places that are so old. It was exciting to find pots and other things people used every day.”
It was harder for Kirsty than for some of the others. “I come from Alaska which is a cold place,” she says. “It was hard for me to work under the hot North African sun. We walked along the city wall so that we could see Pingyao clearly from the top. After that, we went to the old streets and visited some ancient buildings that are over two hundred years old. You may find it in your schoolbag later, and this small ‘win’ will make you smile.”,当你弄丢钢笔时,你可能会在书包里找到它,这个小“胜利”会让你微笑,选项
32.第三段提到“Second, talk to people you trust.”,其次,和你信任的人交谈,后文提到“When you feel sad about a bad test score, 2. They will encourage you and give you good advice.”,当你因考试成绩不好而难过时,他们会鼓励你并给你好建议,选项B“share your feelings with your parents or friends”意为“和你的父母或朋友分享你的感受”,后文的“They”指代的就是父母或朋友,与上文“和你信任的人交谈”形成呼应,符合本段主旨。
33.第四段后文提到“No one is perfect. Every mistake teaches you something new, and it helps you little by little until you grow up as a person.”,没有人是完美的,每个错误都会教你新东西,并帮助你一点点成长,选项A“learn from mistakes”意为“从错误中学习”,准确概括了本段主旨——没有人完美,要从错误中学习,适合作本段的小标题。
34.第五段提到“Fourth, do something kind for others.”,第四,为他人做一些善事,后文提到“When you bring warmth to others, 4. This kindness also makes the world a brighter place.”,当你给别人带来温暖时,这种善良也会让世界变得更美好,选项C“you will find that your own heart is full of joy”意为“你会发现自己的内心充满快乐”,与上文“给别人带来温暖”形成因果关联——给予温暖的同时自己也会收获快乐,与后文“让世界更美好”共同阐述了善良带来的双重好处。
36.B 37.A 38.C 39.A 40.C 41.B 42.A 43.B 44.B 45.A 46.B 47.A 48.B 49.C 50.A
固定搭配more than表示“不仅仅,超过”;less than“少于”,much“许多”,few“很少”,均不能表达“不仅仅”的含义。
and连接并列对象the present与the future,the present意为“现在”;past“过去”,today“今天”,now“此刻”,不能和future构成对应的书面名词搭配。
find sth.+adj.
build a sense of identity为固定搭配,意为“建立身份认同感”;break“打破”,change“改变”,protect“保护”,不能搭配sense of identity。
where we came from是宾语从句,意为“我们来自哪里”;why“为什么”,how“如何”,when“何时”,和came from搭配语义不通。
help sb. do sth.
51.reached 52.winner 53.as fast as 54.faster 55.nothing
根据“they decided the…was a dog named Shasta”及备选词汇可知,此处表示“获胜者”,作主语,win符合语境,其名词形式是winner。故填winner。
根据“run…they could”及备选词汇可知,此处表示“尽可能快地”,构成“as+adj./adv.+as sb./sth. can/could”结构,fast符合语境,其副词形式是fast“快地”。故填as fast as。
根据“A black dog ran…than any other dog”及备选词汇可知,此处有“than”,应用比较级,fast符合语境,其副词比较级形式是faster。故填faster。
根据“but he didn’t follow the orders, so he got…”
56.inside 57.relatives 58.passed 59.allow 60.argued 61.Surprisingly 62.Maybe/Perhaps 63.return 64.whenever 65.afraid/fearful/scared
afraid/fearful/scared“害怕的”,形容词,作表语,表示老鼠们的心理状态。

因为bring peace to...
76.范文
Learn about Our Past
I often learn about history by visiting old museums and reading history books. I love these ways because they bring the old days close to me.
Learning history teaches me two important lessons. First, if we know about our past mistakes, we will not repeat them. Second, history tells us how our ancestors worked hard for a better life.
From history, I realize we should treasure our present life. We need to pass our history on to more young people because only when we remember the past can we move forward bravely.
