语法点一：although和though引导让步状语从句
一、核心语法讲解
although和though意为“虽然、尽管”，用来引导让步状语从句。
1. 基本结构：Although/Though + 从句，主句；或主句 + although/though + 从句。
Although the film was long, I enjoyed it.
I enjoyed the film although it was long.
2. 从句在前时，通常用逗号与主句隔开；从句在后时，是否加逗号要看具体表达。
3. although和though意思相近，通常可以互换；although较正式，though在口语中较常用。
4. 同一组让步表达中，不把although/though与but重复使用；主句可以用still。
Though she was nervous, she still gave a great performance.
5. 从句时态根据实际时间确定，不套用“主将从现”规则。
Although she may fail, she will try again.
6. although/though说明“虽然如此，仍然……”，不能与表示原因的because混淆。
Although it rained, we went out.（虽然下雨，我们仍出去了。）
Because it rained, we stayed inside.（因为下雨，我们留在室内。）
二、教材原句解析
1. Although this was Hepburn’s first lead role on stage, her performance was a great success.
解析：虽然这是她第一次在舞台上担任主角，但表演非常成功；从句在前，用逗号隔开。
2. In 1954, Hepburn won an Oscar for her performance in Roman Holiday though it was only her second major role.
解析：though从句位于主句后；虽然只是第二次担任重要角色，她仍然获奖了。
3. Though Hepburn found out she had cancer in 1992, it didn’t stop her from continuing her charity work.
解析：虽然发现自己患病，她仍继续公益工作；两个分句都在谈过去的事情。
三、易错点提醒
1. 避免重复连接。中文里“虽然……但是……”在英语中通常只用一个连接词。
（ ）Although he was tired, but he kept working.
（ ）Although he was tired, he kept working.
2. 用but也可表达相同意思，但这时要去掉although/though。
He was tired, but he kept working.
3. although/though后接从句；不要直接接普通名词短语。
Although it was raining, we kept filming.（ ）
Although the rain, we kept filming.（ ）
语法点二：so/such ... that和so that
一、核心语法讲解
so ... that和such ... that表示“如此……以至于”，引导结果状语从句。
1. so + 形容词或副词 + that + 从句。so修饰形容词或副词。
The film was so interesting that we watched it twice.
She acted so well that everyone praised her.
2. such + a/an + 形容词 + 可数名词单数 + that + 从句。
It was such an exciting film that we watched it twice.
such + 形容词 + 可数名词复数或不可数名词 + that + 从句。
They are such good films that I want to watch them again.
It was such good weather that we filmed outside.
3. many、much、few、little表示“多、少”时，前面用so，不用such。
There were so many people that we could not get in.
4. so that表示“以便、为了”，引导目的状语从句，常可换成in order that。
基本结构：主句 + so that + 主语 + can/could/will/may等 + 动词原形。
I spoke slowly so that everyone could understand me.
二、教材原句解析
1. The actress worked so hard that she did not have a day off last year.
解析：so修饰副词hard，that从句说明工作非常努力所带来的结果。
2. It is such a great film that I have watched it several times.
解析：such修饰名词短语a great film；a放在such后、形容词前。
3. Hepburn worked very hard so that she could perform her roles well.
解析：so that说明努力工作的目的；could与主句的过去时间相配。
三、易错点提醒
1. 注意so与such后面的结构：so exciting；such an exciting film。

2. 不可数名词前不用a/an：such useful advice；such good weather。
3. a/an根据后面单词开头的音素选择：a great film；an exciting film。
4. so little time中little表示“少”；such little children中little表示“小”。
5. so ... that强调程度和结果；so that强调做事的目的。判断时要看句意。
He spoke so clearly that we understood him.（结果）
He spoke clearly so that we could understand him.（目的）

I practised with a classmate every day so that I could feel more confident. We also chose a quiet room so that we could record our voices better.
Though making the film was hard work, we still helped one another. Our teacher gave us such useful advice that everyone made progress.
It was such a wonderful experience that I still remember many details. I think making short films can help us learn to work together. It also gives us a chance to express our ideas better.

Although/Though：引导让步状语从句，主句不再用but。
