Check Answers: Discuss the answers as a class. Step 3: Language Points 1. Explanation: Use the PPT to explain the key language points with clear examples: booking (n.): 预订；预约 — book (v.), book (n.); I made a booking for a hotel room online. platform (n.): 平台；舞台 — Many people book their trips on this platform. navigation (n.): 导航；航行 — navigate (v.), navigator (n.); The navigation system in my car helps me find my way. application (n.): 应用；应用软件；申请 — apply (v.), applied (adj.), applicable (adj.), applicant (n.); This application (app) helps us with navigation. bill (n.): 账单；纸币；法案 — I need to pay the electricity bill. / The new bill will help protect our environment. regardless of: 不论，不管 — regard (v. & n.); He went to school regardless of the heavy rain. / Everyone can take part in the activity regardless of age. benefit from: 得益于；从……中获益 — benefit (v. & n.), be beneficial to; We benefit from modern technology. / Exercise is beneficial to our health. = We benefit from exercise. what's more: 此外；而且；更为重要的是 (synonyms: besides, moreover, in addition) — Online shopping saves our time. What's more, it costs less money. have an impact on: 对……有影响 (synonyms: have an effect on, have an influence on) — The Internet has a huge impact on teenagers. / Too much screen time has a bad impact on your eyesight. 2. Practice: Complete the fill-in-the-blank exercise on the PPT (regardless of, interact with, benefit from, what's more, have an impact on). Check answers together. Step 4: Group Work — Negative Impacts of Technology (10 mins) 1. Group Discussion: Students work in groups to discuss: "Do you know any negative impacts of technology on us What are some of the disadvantages " 2. Conclusion: Technology brings us convenience and efficiency. It also brings, however, disadvantages. We should take a two-sided view of technology so that our argument can be more convincing. Step 5: Writing. 1. Writing Task: Ask students: "What kind of technology is the most helpful for you Write about your experience." Use the following questions as a guide: A: What technology is it B: Where do you use this kind of technology C: What are its advantages D: What are its disadvantages E: How do we use it properly 2. Writing Structure: Introduction: State your chosen technology clearly as the main topic. Advantages: Explain benefits and how you use it daily. Disadvantages: Discuss drawbacks like distraction or health issues. Conclusion: Offer advice on using it wisely and responsibly. 3. Model Passage: "Mobile Phones — the Most Helpful Technology" For me, mobile phones are the most helpful technology. I use them both at home and at school. Mobile phones bring me many advantages. I can look up useful information and interact with my classmates online. Regardless of distance, I can also keep in touch with my family. However, they have disadvantages. Spending too much time on phones is bad for our health and study. We should use them properly. We must control our screen time and make good use of them. In short, mobile phones have a great impact on our daily life. 4. Sharing: Invite a few students to share their writing with the class. Step 6: Summary & Homework. 1. Summary: Review the key vocabulary and phrases. Summarize the main content: Technology has a huge impact on our lives. Advantage 1: Brings convenience. Advantage 2: Helps communication and study. Advantage 3: Benefits the environment. We should take a two-sided view of technology and use it wisely. 2. Homework: Review all new words and phrases learned in today's lesson. Write a short passage (80–100 words) about "What tech helps you most " Preview the main topics and new words of the next lesson.
