为非延续性动词短语，不能与表示一段时间的状语连用；
若要表示去世多久，要用be dead。#1.1

peacefully / pi sf li/ adv. 平静地
由“peaceful（adj.平静的）+-ly（副词后缀）”构成。
The baby slept peacefully through the storm.婴儿在暴
风雨中安睡。
City life is full of opportunities. Country life, however,
is quieter and more peaceful.城市生活充满机遇。然而，
乡村生活更加安静平和。
典例 用所给单词的适当形式填空。
The old couple sat __________（peaceful）on the park
bench, watching the sunset.

[解析] 句意：那对年老的夫妇平静地坐在公园长椅上，
看着日落。根据空前的动词sat可知，空处应用副词形式，
故填peacefully。

时，谓语动词用复数形式。
