How to get on well with our parents
For teenagers, it's important to get on well with our parents. What should we do
Firstly, we should spend some time communicating with our parents. For example, we may talk about our teachers, classmates or the things that happen in school. Secondly, we should do something with our parents each week, such as tidying the room and washing the dishes. We'll improve our relationship with them in this way. Thirdly, we'd better discuss our problems with them. They will help us find better ways to solve them. Finally, we need to understand and respect our parents.
It's not easy to get on with our parents. So we should learn to be understanding first.2026-2027学年八年级上册期中模拟卷(浙江金华专用)

MBTI is a personality test. Many people are very interested in it now. “Am I an ‘I’ person or an ‘E’ person ” “I” means introverted (性格内向的) while “E” means extroverted. A number of people take the test to find out the answer.
They find the test helpful. The MBTI test puts people into 16 kinds. People can know what kind of person they are by taking the test. It can help people have a better understanding of their personality. A greater self-understanding can be helpful in daily life and for interpersonal communication (人际交往), such as choosing a job or getting along with others.
There are also some problems. Some people take the test for a second time and get different results. Some people find it difficult to answer some questions. For example, I like watching TV at home by myself. But I also enjoy going camping with my friends. Am I an ‘I’ or an ‘E’

Good communication is the key to successful teamwork. In our school life, we often take part in group tasks such as sports games, class projects and study groups. Simply putting talented people together is never enough. Without proper and smooth communication, a team may fail easily, even if every member is hard-working and excellent alone.
When team members communicate well, they can share thoughts freely and understand each other’s real needs. They discuss difficulties openly instead of hiding their worries or doubts. In this way, mistakes can be corrected early, as disagreements can be solved peacefully, and the team can work in an organized way.
Poor communication however, always causes lots of trouble. Some members only stick to their own opinions and refuse to listen to their partners. They often misunderstand others and waste plenty of time on meaningless arguments (争论) . Slowly, the team loses trust and becomes unable to work well.
As middle school students, we should learn to communicate politely and patiently. True teamwork does not require everyone to share the same idea, but to listen, respect and support each other. Good communication surely leads a team to finally achieve common goals. Only by communicating well can a team finally reach its shared dreams and long-term goals.
19.What is the main idea of the first paragraph
A.Excellent members are easy to find in a team. B.Success mainly depends on personal hard work.
C.Group work is always difficult for ordinary students. D.Good communication matters greatly in teamwork.
20.What result may proper communication bring to a team
A.Members will avoid mistakes in time together. B.Members will never have different opinions.
C.Members will refuse to share their own doubts. D.Members will argue with each other more often.
21.Which of the following is true about poor communication
A.It helps the team build long-term trust quickly. B.It makes team members understand each other well.
C.It leads to misunderstanding and low efficiency. D.It encourages people to listen to different ideas.
22.What does the writer advise teenagers to do in teamwork
A.Always hold the same opinion as others. B.Complete projects with proper communication.
C.Refuse to listen to different voices around them. D.Finish tasks as the team leader asks you to do.
C
Almost everyone has experienced the uncomfortable feeling of being misunderstood. A girl, for example, sends a short message to her friend because she is busy, but the friend thinks she is angry. Or a mother asks her son to study harder out of care, yet the son believes she doesn’t trust him. A teacher may simply ask a student to hand in homework, but the student thinks that the teacher dislikes him.
Misunderstandings like these can cause serious results. They may hurt friendships, create arguments in families, or make people not believe each other. When someone feels people are wrong about them, they may become sad, angry, or even stop expressing their true thoughts. In class, a student who is often misunderstood may stop asking questions or taking part in group work. What makes things worse is that misunderstandings often grow quietly, and people may not realize the problem until it becomes difficult to fix.
One reason for misunderstandings is that people see the same situation differently. Our past experiences, feelings and worries all change how we hear words. Another reason is that we often make quick guesses without checking the facts. We think we already know what the other person means, so we stop listening. Sometimes, people keep their feelings inside because they are afraid of being laughed at. As a result, small problems turn into bigger ones. Facing these facts can be uncomfortable, but it is important if we want to build stronger relationships.
Recognizing misunderstandings is the first step to change. When we slow down, listen carefully, and ask questions, we can better understand what others truly mean. Simple sentences like “Did you mean…” or “I feel this way when you say that” can open the door to real communication. Research shows that empathy can help stop many misunderstandings. This feeling for others helps us notice when people are sad or worried and makes us try to understand their feelings. These ways of listening, asking and caring help us think before reacting and give others a chance to explain themselves.
The key to solving misunderstandings lies in kindness to ourselves and others. Everyone makes mistakes in communication. By creating an environment where people feel safe to speak, we can break down walls. When we understand that misunderstandings are a common part of life, it becomes easier to talk openly, fix relationships, and grow together.
23.Why does the writer use the examples in Paragraph 1
A.To stress that misunderstandings can cause problems.
B.To answer why people send short messages to others.
C.To compare different ways to communicate with others.
D.To show that misunderstandings often happen in daily life.
24.What does the word “empathy” in Paragraph 4 most probably mean
A.A way to start conversations.
B.A study on misunderstandings.
C.A feeling of understanding how others feel.
D.A habit of asking questions when communicating.
25.Which of the following would the writer most probably agree with
A.Staying quiet is the way to stop arguments.
B.Guessing quickly helps solve misunderstandings.
C.Open communication helps stop many misunderstandings.
D.Misunderstandings happen because people lie to each other.
26.What is the writer’s main purpose in writing the passage
A.To stop people to make communication mistakes.
B.To advise readers how to express themselves clearly.
C.To explain why misunderstandings are often difficult to fix.
D.To tell people how to fix misunderstandings and communicate well.

Chester Greenwood was 15 years old. All he wanted to do was ice skate. However, the freezing cold of winter in Farmington, the USA, made his ears hurt. He tried to cover them with gloved hands, but that made it difficult to skate. After that, he tried to wear a scarf around his head, but the wool was rough and uncomfortable.
Searching for a way to solve it, Chester shaped two pieces of thin metal (金属) into circles to cover his ears. He then connected (连接) them with a longer piece to make a headband (头带). His grandmother sewed (缝) soft cloth to the inside and fur to the outside of the circles. This design kept out the winter air. Chester was happy with what he had made. The earmuffs (耳罩) with lightweight, hands-free, soft ear protectors became a hit. They were so popular that many kids asked him to make more.
Three years later in 1877, Chester protected his invention of the earmuffs by getting a patent (专利). This was a special government license that prevented anybody from copying Chester’s idea. At the time it was granted, he was only 18. By 1883, his Farmington factory produced 30,000 earmuffs a year, climbing to 400,000 by his death in 1937.
Although Chester became famous for his earmuffs, they were not the only thing he invented. He came up with many good ideas for new products during his lifetime. One was for the design of a metal rake that is still used today to collect fallen leaves every autumn. Chester was an inventor for ordinary people. He would look at everyday jobs that needed effort and then try to find a way to do them more easily.
27.What is Chester’s most famous invention
A.Gloves. B.Scarves. C.Headbands. D.Earmuffs.
28.Why did Chester come up with the idea for his first invention
A.Because he had to keep away from noisy situations.
B.Because he wished to protect his ears from the freezing cold of winter.
C.Because he wanted to help his grandma with her housework.
D.Because he disliked wearing a rough and uncomfortable scarf.
29.Paragraph 2 is written to ________.
A.introduce a new product
B.explain to readers what materials were used
C.show how the invention was made
D.ask readers to give some more advice
30.In which book can we read this passage

How to get on well with our parents
For teenagers, it’s important to get on well with our parents. What should we do
Firstly, we should spend some time communicating with our parents. For example, we may talk about our teachers, classmates or the things that happen in school. Secondly, we should do something with our parents each week, such as tidying the room and washing the dishes. We’ll improve our relationship with them in this way. Thirdly, we’d better discuss our problems with them. They will help us find better ways to solve them. Finally, we need to understand and respect our parents.
It’s not easy to get on with our parents. So we should learn to be understanding first.
