O. Henry was a pen name used by an American writer of short stories. His real name was William Sydney Porter. He was born in North Carolina in 1862. As a young boy he lived an exciting life. Do you love holidays but hate the weight problems it brings? You are not alone.

Does your mother know how much you love her? Well, Mother’s Day is a wonderful chance to tell your mum how much you appreciate her. Mother’s Day in America and Britain falls on different days and their origins are also different. But the way to say “thank you” is similar.
In Britain, Mother’s Day, also called Mothering Sunday, falls on the fourth Saturday of Lent(typically March or early April). Therefore, it is celebrated on different days from year to year. In America, however, Mother’s Day falls on the second Sunday of April each year.
