where there is a will,there is a way
When I first went to middle school, I had a difficult time learning English.
First I couldn’t get the pronunciation right. So it was also difficult for me to memorize the words. In class, I couldn’t understand what my English said.
I often made grammar mistakes while making sentences. What was worse, I read very slowly. In a word, I couldn’t do well in English. I almost wanted to give up learning English.
Luckily, my English teacher Mr Chai was very patient. He often encouraged me to make progress. He told me never to give up.He often said :where there is a way,there is a way. He also taught me many ways to improve my English. So I made up my mind to learn English well. With the help of Mr Chai I changed my ways to learn English. I started to listen to the teacher more carefully in class. I took grammar notes. I got more active. I put up my hands more often. I read aloud after the teacher or the tapes. After class, I spent more time learning English: revise the notes, do homework, make vocabulary lists, listen to English songs, watch English movies. I even joined an English club to improve my spoken English. To everyone’s surprise, I got an A in the final exams. My teachers and classmates were all impressed.
Thanks to Mr Chai’s help, now I am enjoying learning English. We should believe: where there is a way, there is a way. So never give up,my friends.

This week we asked students at New Star High School about the best ways (学习)more English.Many said they learnt by （使用）English.Some students had more specific suggetions.Lilian Li said that （记忆） the words of pop songs also helped a little. When we asked about grammar,she said,I never study grammar. It’s too boring.
Wei Ming feel (不一样).He’s been (学习)English for six years and really loves it.He also thinks that watching English movies isn’t a bad way because he can watch the actors (讲)the words.Sometimes however,he finds watching movies (沮丧) because the people speak too (快) .
Liu Chang said that (加入)the English club at school was the best way （提高）her English.She added that having conversations with friends was not （帮助）at all.“We get （兴奋）about something and then end up （讲）in Chinese,”she said.

How I learned to learn English
