Have you ever played football? Yes, I did when I was little, but I haven't played for a while now.
含有for，since的现在完成时的用法歌诀: 过去的动作或状态，一直持续到现在，for、since 把时间带。
for+时间段

过去时的从句
现在完成时表示动作或状态在过去已经开始，持续到现在可能还要持续下去，常和for, since引导的表示一段时间的时间状语连用，谓语动词多用延续性动词。
如：live, teach, learn, work, study, be open, be closed, keep, have, be away, be married, be asleep, be ill等。

现在完成时的持续型用法
动词：?延续性动词：表示能够延续的动作；表示经过和 经历；常与for+一段时间，since+时间点连用。
eg：He has lived here for 6 years.
?非延续性动词：表示不能延续的动作，这种动作发生后立即结束；表示行为的结果。在肯定句中不能和表示时间段的状语连用；在否定句中则可以。
eg：I have left here for 3 years. ×
I haven't left here for 3 years. √

谓语动词用延续性动词，可以用how long提问。
