Wealsousethreeconjunctions.Grammaralthough“尽管,虽然”,引导让步状语从句,一般情况下可以和though互换,但though比较口语化。而although较正式,另外although的语气比though重。当although/though引导的从句放在句首时,主从句之间要用逗号隔开。although和though都不能和but在同一个复合句里连用。1)Igavehimsomeadvice,hedidn’ttakethem.虽然我给了他一些建议,但他没有采纳。2)Hewentoutwithoutanovercoat________itwassocold.尽管天气很冷,他还是没穿外套就出去了。Althoughalthough语法讲析although/though的用法Grammar语法讲析sothat的用法Grammarsothat用来引导目的状语从句,意思为“以便,为了”,从句中常用can(could),will(would),may(might)等情态动词。sothat还可用来引导结果状语从句,此时意为“因此,所以”,从句谓语没有情态动词,且主从句之间要用逗号相隔。sothat引导的目的状语从句可与inorderthat或inorderto结构相互转换。e.g.Mr.Greenspeaksveryloudlysothatallthepeoplecanhearhimclearly.Mr.Greenspeaksveryloudlysothatallthepeoplehearhimclearly.so…that…用来引导结果状语从句,so后面加形容词或副词,其意为“如此……以至于……”。如:1)Thisbookissointerestingthateveryonewantstoreadit.2)HeransofastthatIcouldn'tcatchupwithhim.当从句是肯定句,可转换为...enoughtodo...句型。e.g.Heissostrongthathecancarrythebigbox.=Heisstrongenoughtocarrythebigbox.当从句是否定句,可转换为too...todo...句型。e.g.Sheissoyoungthatshecan'tgotoschool.=Sheissoyoungthatshecan'tgotoschool.【拓展】语法讲析sothat的用法Grammar语法讲析until的用法Grammaruntil用来引导时间状语从句,用于肯定句,表示主句的动作一直持续到until短语或句子所表示的时间为止,即表示动作的终点。一般译为“直到...时(为止)”或“在...之前”,在这种用法中,主句的谓语动词必须是持续动词(非瞬间动词)。e.g.Wewalkeduntilwegottotheriverside.我们一直走到河边为止。Hestayedupuntil11:30lastnight.他昨天晚上熬夜到十一点半。语法讲析until的用法Grammaruntil引导的时间状语从句用于否定句,表示主句的动作直到until短语或句子所表示的时间才开始发生,即表示动作的起点。一般译为“直到...才”。在这种用法中,主句的谓语动词通常是瞬间动词。e.g.Wedidn'tgohomeuntiltherainstopped.直到雨停了我们才回家。Ididn'twakeup untilIheardthealarmclock.
