对九年级学生来说，大部分已经有一定的英语学习基础。但是因为我们是偏远的乡村镇上中学，所以大部分学生甚至是全部的学生对于西方国家的文化以及中英美等国家的传统生活的特点和差异根本不了解加之学生英语成绩的分化比较严重。这样在实际的课堂学习中，很难深刻地理解课文以及单词和短语。因此要求学生在课前认真做好预习，借助网络了解文化的不同，培养他们的自学能力。教师在课上也要主要培养学生的合作精神提高综合运用语言的能力。

第五单元是通过谈论学生的日常用品，激发学生的表达欲望使学生体验到了知识的个人意义。通过学习1a，使学生对被动结构有所了解；通过1b，锻炼学生的听力及抓取关键信息的能力；通过1c的训练锻炼学生的口头表达能力，同时巩固对一般现在时被动结构的认识。本节课着重谈论产品由什么制成已经产地，主要就这个话题进行练习。延伸到被动语态的用法，学生们对被动语态掌握和运用会有一定的难度。
