Summer
is
finally
here
for
most
of
us.
Sadly,
summer
is
not
so
pleasant
to
people
in
a
bit
less
lucky
places,
where
air
conditioning(空调)
is
not
easy
to
get
for
most
of
them.
But
as
a
saying
goes,
where
there
is
a
will,
there
is
a
way,
especially
for
those
who
like
doing
it
yourself
(DIY).
A
young
man
from
Bangladesh
(孟加拉国)
designed
an
air
conditioning
system
called
the
Eco
Cooler,
one
that
does
not
needs
power,
and
is
made
of
the
world's
most
common
waste-plastic
bottles.
The
Eco
Cooler
is
super
simple
to
build—no
special
engineering
skills
are
required.
First,
to
fix
it,
a
window
should
be
taken
away
and
replaced
(替代)
by
it.
Second,
a
board
should
be
cut
into
the
size
of
a
window.
Some
bottle-neck
sized
holes
should
then
be
cut
onto
the
board.
Then,
the
funnel-shaped(漏斗状)
bottlenecks,
cut
from
the
plastic
bottles,
should
be
put
into
the
holes.
The
next
step
is
to
fix
the
design
onto
the
window
frame
(框)
with
the
wider
side
facing
outwards.
And
this
is
it.
The
Eco
Cooler
then
works
by
catching
the
winds
and
sending
them
inside
the
building.
It
can
reduce(减少)
the
temperature
of
a
room
by
as
much
as
5°C—a
big
difference
when
looking
at
comfortable
25°C
compared
to
uncomfortable
30°C.
The
idea
of
the
inventor,
Ashis
Paul,
was
to
show
his
great
product
to
as
many
people
as
possible.
For
this
purpose,
he
received
help
from
some
groups
of
volunteers.
Together,
they
offered
to
help
local
people
build
and
fix
the
units,
as
well
as
teach
them
how
to
make
them
themselves.
Yes,
the
Eco
Cooler
is
not
a
super
high-tech
air
conditioning
system,
but
it
is
one
that
can
make
a
big
difference.
(
)49.When
building
the
Eco
Cooler,
we
should
pay
special
attention
to

A.
the
shape
of
the
window
B.
the
direction
of
bottlenecks
C.
the
temperature
of
the
outside
D.
the
weight
of
the
board
(
)50.What
can
we
learn
from
the
passage?
A.
Ashis
Paul
is
a
clever
inventor
and
a
successful
businessman.
B.
An
Eco
Cooler
can
fix
the
room
temperature
to
comfortable
25°C.
C.
The
new
invention
of
Eco
Cooler
is
friendly
to
the
environment.
D.
Local
people
will
replace
their
air
conditioner
with
an
Eco
Cooler.
(
)51.What's
the
best
title
of
this
passage?
A.
DIY
air

from
plastic
bottles
B.
Eco
Cooler—a
super
high-tech
air
conditioner
C.
Why
do
we
need
an
Eco
Cooler
in
summer?
D.
A
strong-willed
inventor
and
his
DIY
dream
C
Have
you
ever
seen
rows
of
different
cars
parked
on
a
big
playground,
with
their
boots(汽车后备箱)
open?
The
boots
are
packed
with
things
like
books,
pictures,
kids’
toys.
This
is
a
car
boot
sale.
It
is
popular
in
the
UK.
If
you
have
lots
of
things
and
have
nowhere
to
put
them,
and
don’t
want
to
throw
them
away,
why
not
try
a
car
boot
sale?
Go
to
a
car
boot
sale
and
you
may
be
excited
about
what
you
find.
You
can
find
almost
anything
at
a
car
boot
sale,
from
beds,
tables
to
necklaces
and
ring….
Most
of
the
things
are
second-hand,
so
they
are
usually
low-priced.
I
like
to
hunt
for
books.
I
was
pretty
proud
when
I
bought
four
books
from
the
Harry
Potter
Series
and
they
cost
me
just
over
?2.
Here
is
a
little
tip
that
not
everybody
knows.
When
it’s
nearly
the
end
of
the
sale
(they
usually
finish
in
the
early
afternoon),
many
sellers
cut
the
prices
because
they
want
to
throw
away
things.
Quite
often
you’ll
find
“all
for
10p”,
“Buy
one
and
get
one
free”
and
“Take
it
away!”It’s
clear
that
they
just
want
to
throw
those
things
away.
However,
there
may
not
be
much
good
stuff(物品)left
in
the
end—the
things
people
really
want
are
sold
quickly.
So,
as
they
say,
the
early
bird
catches
the
worm!
(
)52.
Why
are
most
things
at
such
a
low
price
at
a
car
boot
sale?
A.
Because
they
are
terrible.?
B.
Because
they
are
useless.
C.
Because
they
are
small
things.?
D.
Because
they
are
second-hand.
(
)53.
Which
of
the
following
things
you
may
NOT
find
at
a
car
boot
sale??
A.
Food
and
drinks
B.
Books
and
pictures
C.
Beds
and
tables
D.
Necklaces
and
rings
(
)54.
Many
sellers
usually
cut
the
prices__________.
A.
at
the
beginning
of
the
sale
B.
nearly
at
the
end
of
the
sale
C.
in
the
early
morning
D.
when
there
is
bad
weather
(

What
is
the
reading
mainly
about?
A.
A
car

in

B.
A

Every
boy
wants
to
find
treasure.
And
Tom
was
no
different.
One
summer
day,
Tom
told
Huck
about
his
idea.
“Where
can
we
look
for
treasure?”
asked
Huck.
“It’s
hidden
on
islands,
under
dead
trees,
but
mostly
under
the
floors
in
haunted(闹鬼的)houses.”
So,
one
Saturday
afternoon
Tom
and
his
friend
went
to
look
for
treasure
at
the
haunted
house
on
Cardiff
Hill.
It
was
a
quiet
and
lonely
place
which
made
the
boys
feel
terribly
afraid.
They
entered
quietly,
and
explored(勘察)
downstairs.
There
were
cobwebs(蜘蛛网)
everywhere
and
everything
was
old
and
broken.
Then
they
threw
their
tools
in
a
comer
and
walked
upstairs,
but
there
was
nothing
there.
They
were
just
about
to
go
downstairs
and
start
digging
when
Tom
stopped.
“What
is
it?”
whispered
Huck,
going
white
with
fear.
“Keep
quiet!
There’s
someone
downstairs.”
The
boys
lay
down,
looking
through
the
holes
in
the
wooden
floor.
There
were
two
men
downstairs.
One
was
an
old
Spanish
in
a
wide
sombrero
hat(宽边帽)
and
the
other
was
dirty
and
unpleasant-looking.
Tom
and
Huck
shook
with
fear
when
they
heard
the
Spanish
speak
because
they
found
it
was
Indian
Joe.
He
said,
“It’s
time
for
us
to
move,
partner.
What
will
we
do
with
the
$650
from
the
robbery
(抢劫)?’’
“Let’s
keep
$30
each
and
leave
the
bag
here.”
The
dirty
man
went
to
the
fireplace
and
moved
a
stone.
Then
he
lifted
out
a
bag
full
of
money
and
took
out
some
coins.
The
two
boys
forgot
all
their
fears
when
they
saw
there
was
real
treasure
downstairs.
Then
Indian
Joe
started
digging
a
hole
with
his
knife
and
the
knife
hit
something.
“What
is
it?”
asked
the
other
man.
“It’s
a
box,”
said
Indian
Joe.
And
he
put
in
his
hand
and
pulled
out
a
handful
of
gold
coins.
The
other
man
found
the
boys’
tools,
and
they
soon
pulled
out
the
box.
“There
are
thousands
of
dollars
in
there,”
said
Indian
Joe.
“The
Murrell
Gang
used
this
area
one
summer,”
said
his
partner.
“They
must
have
hidden
their
money
here.”
“What
will
we
do
with
this,
Joe?
Will
we
bury(埋)it
again?”
“No,
someone
might
find
it,”
said
Indian
Joe.
“Let’s
bury
it
in
the
member
two
den.”
Tom
and
Huck
got
up
as
soon
as
the
two
men
left.
They
decided
to
watch
out
for
the
“man
in
the
sombrero”
when
he
came
to
town
and
find
out
where
the
member
two
den
was.

B
How
do
you
spend
your
spare
time?
There
will
be
different
answers
to
it.
Most
people
in
Poland
have
their
own
ways
of
spending
free
time.
Sometimes
they
just
want
to
have
a
rest,
but
they
try
to
do
something
more
pleasant
most
of
the
time.
They
have
many
different
hobbies,
which
help
them
to
get
away
from
their
everyday
problems
and
spend
their
free
time
happily.
Many
Polish
people
like
traveling.
They
look
for
new
places
that
they
have
never
been
to
and
add
new
and
exciting
experiences
to
their
journey.
Some
of
them
like
to
climb
mountains,
others
like
to
go
to
the
sea
or
a
lake
to
swim,
because
these
can
make
them
get
exercise
and
are
good
for
their
health.
Many
Polish
people
also
like
to
do
sports
in
their
free
time.
They
are
usually
crazy
about
football,
and
football
is
regarded
as
the
Polish
national
sport.
Many
football
fans
may
support
a
certain
team,
so
they
go
to
watch
every
match
of
the
team
they
support,
and
they
buy
many
things
that
have
any
relation
with
the
team.
Watching
sport
and
doing
it
are
both
good
ways
to
relax
themselves.
In
addition,
doctors
say
that
doing
sports
is
very
good
for
the
health.
Many
people
in
town,
especially
young
men,
often
go
to
the
gym
to
attend
the
exercise
classes
to
keep
fit.
Besides
these
ways,
Polish
people
have
many
other
ways
to
spend
their
free
time.
And
they
really
enjoy
their
free
time.

with
a
spring
in
their
steps
and
a
feeling
of
fresh
beginnings.
However,
for
a
fresh
beginning
it
takes
more
than
the
bright
colors
and
fresh
air
of
spring.
We
need
to
look
at
ourselves,
set
new
goals(目标),and
decide
how
to
improve
ourselves.
In
England
people
usually
do
this
on
the
first
day
of
the
year.
We
look
at
the
past
year
and
think
about
what
we’d
like
to
change
or
improve
in
our
lives,
and
we
call
this
a
New
Year'
s
resolution(决心).These
can
be
anything
from
improving
one’s
health
through
exercise
or
cutting
out
bad
habits,
to
studying
harder
for
better
grades
or
trying
to
find
a
good
work
or
life
balance.
Luckily,
we
don'
t
have
to
wait
for
the
beginning
of
a
new
year
to
try
and
become
better
people.
We
can
do
this
whenever
we
like.
The
milestone
of
a
new
term
is
just
a
good
place
to
start.
Sometimes
it’s
difficult
to
take
the
first
step
in
achieving
newly
set
goals,
but
an
old
saying
is
“to
begin
is
to
be
half-way
there.”
I
agree
with
this
because
taking
on
a
new
task
or
changing
habits
can
seem
daunting
at
first,
but
once
we
begin,
they
get
easier.For
example,
spending
less
time
on
QQ
or
playing
video
games
and
more
time
studying
or
communicating
face-to-face
can
be
difficult
habits
to
change
at
first.
But
once
we
settle
into
the
new
routine
and
start
to
see
the
results,
it’s
difficult
not
to
wonder
why
we
didn’t
do
it
sooner.
The
trick
with
deciding
on
a
resolution
for
a
new
term
is
not
to
set
unrealistic
goals.
If
we
do
this,
it’s
easy
to
lose
motivation(动机)
because
the
end
goal
seems
so
far
away.
Try
to
make
many
small
goals
you
want
to
reach
on
the
way
to
your
final
goal.
This
way,
you
can
see
your
progress
easily.

When
I
was
ten,
my
mother
worked
all
day
so
I
had
to
take
care
of
my
younger
brother.
At
that
time
my
little
brother
was
about
four
years
old
and
he
missed
(想念)
mum
all
the
time.?
One
day,
after
I
gave
him
his
dinner,
he
started
crying
for
mum.
He
was
so
young
and
really
needed
mum.
So
I
dressed
him,
put
on
his
shoes,
carried
him
on
my
back
and
walked
out.
Soon
he
fell
asleep.
About
half
an
hour
later,
I
found
that
he
had
lost
a
shoe
while
sleeping.
I
took
him
off
my
back
and
put
him
down.
I
knew
we
needed
to
find
that
shoe,
because
our
family
was
poor
at
that
time.
We
had
to
go
back
to
find
it,
so
I
told
my
brother
to
wait
right
there.
A
man
heard
it
and
stopped
me
just
before
I
walked
off.
He
asked
me,
“You
are
leaving
your
brother
here
to
find
the
shoe?
What
would
you
do
if
he
is
not
here
when
you
return?”
I
did
not
know
how
to
answer
that
question.
He
went
on
saying,
“It’s
OK
if
you
can’t
find
the
shoe,
but
it
is
not
OK
to
lose
your
brother.”
Then
he
sent
us

by
taxi.

Smartphone,
poor
sight
Look
around,
and
you’ll
see
people
busy
on
their
smartphones.
Smartphones
do
make
our
lives
easier.
But
have
you
ever
thought
about
what
they
mean
to
your
eyes?
According
to
a
study,
half
of
British
people
own
smartphones
and
they
spend
an
average
(平均)
of
two
hours
a
day
using
them.
There
has
been
a
35%
increase
(增加)
in
the
number
of
people
in
the
UK
who
suffer
from
shortsightedness
(近视)
since
smartphones
were
introduced
there
in
1997.
Staring
(盯)
at
smartphones
for
long
time
gives
you
dry
eyes.
When
looking
at
something
far
away,
your
eyes
automatically
blink
(自动眨眼)
a
certain
number
of
times.
However,
when
you
look
at
things
closer
to
your
face,
the
blinking
slows
down.
This
reduces
(减少)
the
amount
of
tears
and
causes
discomfort
in
your
eyes.
Another
bad
habit
is
using
smartphones
in
dark
rooms
before
going
to
sleep.
If
you
look
at
a
bright
screen
while
your
pupils
(瞳孔)
become
larger,
too
much
light
enters
your
eyes.
This
can
do
harm
to
the
eyes
and
cause
a
disease
called
glaucoma
(青光眼).
While
you’re
probably
not
going
to
stop
using
to
your
smartphone,
there
are
a
few
things
you
can
do
to
protect
your
eyes.
Hold
your
phone
at
least
30
centimetres
away
from
your
eyes
when
using
it.
Take
a
break
every
hour
and
try
the
following:
look
at
something
at
least
five
meters
away
from
you
and
then
focus
on
the
tip
of
your
nose.
Repeat
this
several
times.
It
should
reduce
the
discomfort
in
your
eyes.

Life
is
full
of
surprises
and
you
never
know
how
things
will
turn
out
.
Sir
John
Gurdon
is
a
good
example
of
this.
As
a
boy,
he
was
told
he
was
hopeless
at
science
and
finished
bottom
of
his
class.
Now,
aged
79,
the
very
same
Gurdon
shared
the
2012
Nobe
Prize
in
Medicine
with
Japanese
stem
cell(干细胞)
researcher
Shinya
Yamanaka.
Like
so
many
scientists,
Gurdon
shows
us
where
the
power
of
curiosity
and
perseverance
(坚持不懈)can
lead.
At
the
age
of
15
in
1948,
Gurdon
ranked
last
out
of
the
250
boys
at
his
high
school
in
biology
and
every
other
science
subject.
Gurdon’s
high
school
science
teacher
even
said
that
his
dream
of
becoming
a
scientist
was“
quite
ridiculous”.
In
spite
of
his
teacher’s
criticisms,Gurdon
followed
his
curiosity
and
kept
working
hard.
He
went
to
the
lab
early
and
left
later
than
anyone
else.
He
experienced
thousands
of
failures.
“My
own
belief
is
that
we
will,
in
the
end,
understand
everything
about
how
cells
actually
work,”
Gurdon
said.
In
1962,
Gurdon
took
a
cell
from
an
adult
frog
and
moved
its
genetic(基因的)information
into
an
egg
cell.
The
egg
cell
then
grew
into
a
clone(克隆)
of
the
adult
frog.
This
technique
later
helped
to
create
Dolly
the
sheep
in
1996,
the
first
cloned
mammal(哺乳动物)in
the
world.
In
2006,Gurdon’s
work
was
developed
by
Yamanaka
to
show
that
a
sample(样本)of
a
person’s
skin
can
be
used
to
create
stem
cells.
Using
this
technique,
doctors
can
repair
a
patient’s
heart
after
a
heart
attack.
Luck
favors
the
prepared
mind
Gurdon
told
the
Nobel
Prize
Organization.
“Ninety
percent
of
the
time
things
don’t
work,but
when
they
do,you
have
to
seize(抓住)the
chance.”

don't
see
why
he
needs
an
ax,"
continued
Fern,
who
was
only
eight.
"Well,"
said
her
mother,
"one
of
the
pigs
is
very
small
and
weak,
and
it
will
never
grow
up
to
anything.
So
your
father
has
decided
to
do
away
with
it."
"Do
away
with
it?"
cried
Fern.
"
Just
because
it's
smaller
than
the
others?"
Mrs
Arable
put
a
bottle
of
cream
on
the
table.
"Don't
cry,
Fern!"
she
said.
"The
pig
would
probably(可能地)
die
anyway."
Fern
pushed
a
chair
out
of
the
way
and
ran
outdoors.
The
grass
was
wet
and
the
earth
smelled
of
springtime.
Fern's
sneakers
got
wet
by
the
time
she
caught
up
with
her
father.
"Please
don't
do
it!"
she
said
with
eyes
full
of
tears(眼泪).
"It's
not
right."
Mr
Arable
stopped
walking.
"Fern,"
he
said
gently.
"you
will
have
to
learn
to
control(控制)yourself."
"Control
myself?"
cried
Fern.
"This
is
a
matter
of
life
and
death,
and
you
talk
about
controlling
myself."
Tears
ran
down
her
face
and
she
took
hold
of
the
ax
and
tried
to
pull
it
out
of
her
father's
hand.
"Fern,"
said
Mr
Arable,
"I
know
more
about
raising
pigs
than
you
do.
A
weak
pig
makes
trouble.
Now
run
along!"
"But
it's
unfair(不公平的),"
cried
Fern.
"The
pig
couldn't
help
being
born
small,
could
it?
If
I
had
been
very
small
at
birth,
would
you
have
killed
me?"
Mr
Arable
smiled.
"Certainly
not,"
he
said,
looking
down
at
his
daughter
with
love.
"But
this
is
different.
A
little
girl
is
one
thing;
a
little
pig
is
another."
"I
see
no
difference,"
replied
Fern,
still
hanging
on
to
the
ax.
"This
is
the
most
terrible
thing
I
have
ever
heard
of."
A
strange
look
came
over
John
Arable's
face.
He
seemed
almost
ready
to
cry
himself.

Spring
will
soon
be
upon
us
and
a
new
term
is
here.
All
over
the
world
spring
is
the
season
of
new
life:
flowers
bloom,
baby
animals
are
born,
and
the
weather
becomes
warmer.
During
this
time
of
year,
people
usually
walk
around
with
a
spring
in
their
steps
and
a
feeling
of
fresh
beginnings.
However,
for
a
fresh
beginning
it
takes
more
than
the
bright
colors
and
fresh
air
of
spring.
We
need
to
look
at
ourselves,
set
new
goals(目标),and
decide
how
to
improve
ourselves.
In
England
people
usually
do
this
on
the
first
day
of
the
year.
We
look
at
the
past
year
and
think
about
what
we’d
like
to
change
or
improve
in
our
lives,
and
we
call
this
a
New
Year'
s
resolution(决心).These
can
be
anything
from
improving
one’s
health
through
exercise
or
cutting
out
bad
habits,
to
studying
harder
for
better
grades
or
trying
to
find
a
good
work
or
life
balance.
Luckily,
we
don'
t
have
to
wait
for
the
beginning
of
a
new
year
to
try
and
become
better
people.
We
can
do
this
whenever
we
like.
The
milestone
of
a
new
term
is
just
a
good
place
to
start.
Sometimes
it’s
difficult
to
take
the
first
step
in
achieving
newly
set
goals,
but
an
old
saying
is
“to
begin
is
to
be
half-way
there.”
I
agree
with
this
because
taking
on
a
new
task
or
changing
habits
can
seem
daunting
at
first,
but
once
we
begin,
they
get
easier.For
example,
spending
less
time
on
QQ
or
playing
video
games
and
more
time
studying
or
communicating
face-to-face
can
be
difficult
habits
to
change
at
first.
But
once
we
settle
into
the
new
routine
and
start
to
see
the
results,
it’s
difficult
not
to
wonder
why
we
didn’t
do
it
sooner.
The
trick
with
deciding
on
a
resolution
for
a
new
term
is
not
to
set
unrealistic
goals.
If
we
do
this,
it’s
easy
to
lose
motivation(动机)
because
the
end
goal
seems
so
far
away.
Try
to
make
many
small
goals
you
want
to
reach
on
the
way
to
your
final
goal.
This
way,
you
can
see
your
progress
easily.

People
call
lions
the
kings
of
the
animal
world.
Lions
usually
live
in
the
wild
in
Africa
and
India.
Lions
in
Africa
can
go
without
water
for
up
to
one
month,
so
they
have
no
trouble
if
there
is
no
water
for
a
long
time.
???Without
question,
lions
are
also
one
of
the
most
popular
animals
to
see
in
zoos.
Almost
every
zoo
around
the
world
has
a
few
lions.
It
is
very
easy
for
people
to
tell
male
(雄的)
and
female
(雌的)
lions.
Lions
are
the
only
kind
of
cat
that
shows
this
strong
difference
between
males
and
females.
A
male
lion
has
a
mane
(鬃毛),
a
large
collar
of
hair
around
its
face.
Females
do
not
have
manes.
Male
lions
are
also
larger
than
females.
A
male
lion
usually
weighs
about
200
kilograms.
Both
male
and
female
lions
have
very
strong
mouths.
They
can
break
the
backs
of
other
animals
with
one
bite.
One
lion
will
usually
kill
between
ten
and
twenty
large
animals
each
year
for
food.
???It
is
unusual
for
lions
to
kill
people.
However,
in
1898
two
lions
killed
and
ate
over
one
hundred
people
in
Kenya
before
an
Englishman
named
P.
J.
Patterson
killed
them.
Many
years
later,
a
1996
Hollywood
movie
called
The
Ghost

told
this
story.

How
are
lions

the
other
cats?
A.
Lions
are
from
Africa.
B.
Males

look
different.
C.
Many

them.

B.
are
the

animals
C.

D.

48.
How
many

A
little
river
ran
down
from
a
high
mountain
through
many
villages
and
forests.
Then
it
reached
a
desert
(沙漠),
“I
went
through
so
many
difficulties.
I
should
have
no
problem
crossing
the
desert,”
she
thought.
As
she
started,
she
found
herself
slowly
disappearing
into
the
sand.
After
many
tries,
she
still
failed.
At
this
time,
a
deep
voice
said,

if
a
breeze
(微风)
can
cross
the
desert,
so
can
a
river.”
It
was
the
voice
of
the
desert.
But
the
little
river
answered,
“that’s
because
a
breeze
can
fly,
but
I
can’t.”
“That’s
because
you
can’t
give
up
what
you
are.
Let
yourself
evaporate
(蒸发)
into
the
breeze,
and
it
can
take
you
across.”
said
the
desert.
“Give
up
what
I
am
now?
No!
No!”
The
little
river
could
not
accept
this
idea.
“The
breeze
can
carry
the
vapor
(水蒸汽)
across
the
desert
and
let
it
leave
as
rain.
The
rain
will
form
a
river
again.”
said
the
desert.
“And
whether
you’re
a
river
or
vapor,
your
nature
never
changes.”
Hearing
this,
the
little
river
went
into
the
open

of
the
breeze.

her
to

Everyday
is
afraid
of
something.
Tommy,
11,
is
afraid
of
the
dark.
Rachel

is
most
afraid

(水母)in
Australia.
Morgan,
9
,wishes
she
would
stop
being
afraid
to
ride
a
bike
on
busy
streets.
What’s
fear
?
Fear
is
a
feeling
that
everyone
has,
and
that’s
a
good
thing
because
fear
is
there
to
protect
us
.
When
the
fear
comes
,it
means
we
may
meet
something
dangerous.
For
the
fear
of
dark
,
a
kid
could
have
much
imagination
.What’s
under
my
bed
?
Is
there
someone
breaking
into
(闯入)my
house
?
With
the
help
of
a
parent
,
kids
can
get
more
comfortable
in
the
dark.
Using
a
night
light
to
see
that
can
also
help
fight
that
fear.
For
other
fears
,we
needn’t
fight
.
If
you’re
afraid
to
ride
your
bike
on
a
busy
street
,you’re
right
!
You
should
be
afraid
because
it’s
dangerous.
There’s
no
need
to
fight
a
fear
like
that
.
Find
a
better
place
to
ride.
It’s
also
ok
for
Rachel
to
be
afraid
of
the
big
jellyfish
because
it’s
really
dangerous
.
But
it
lives
only
in
some
waters.
So
when
she’s
not
swimming
in
one
of
them
,there

More
than
anything
else
in
the
world,
Lion
liked
being
the
King
of
the
jungle.
He
walked
all
around,
showing
off
his
power
and
pride.
Each
day
Lion
took
a
long,
lazy
sleep
under
the
shade
of
his
favourite
tree.
He
always
dreamed
of
weaker
animals
bowing(鞠躬)
before
him.
One
day
Mouse
ran
through
the
jungle
and
tripped(绊倒)
over
Lion's
huge
paws.
Lion
woke
up
suddenly.
"How
dare
you
wake
me
up?"
he
shouted
angrily.
Lion
grabbed
Mouse
with
one
paw.
"On
second
thought,
I'm
in
the
mood
for
a
snack,
and
you'll
make
a
delicious
meal,"
he
said.
Mouse
cried
out,
"King
Lion,
please
spare(饶恕)
me!
If
you
let
me
live,
I
will
always
remember
your
kindness.
And,
some
day,
I
might
be
able
to
help
you.
"
"How
could
such
a
powerless
little
mouse
ever
help
me?"
That
thought
made
Lion
laugh
so
much
that
he
decided
to
let
Mouse
go.
A
week
later,
Lion
was
walking
through
the
jungle
on
the
way
to
his
favourite
tree
when
he
stepped
into
a
hunter's
net.
The
net
scooped
him
up.
No
matter
how
he
twisted
and
turned,
he
couldn't
escape.
When
Mouse
heard
Lion's
frightened
shouts,
he
raced
to
help.
Mouse
quickly
chewed(咬)
through
the
ropes
to
make
a
hole
in
the
net.
Soon,
Lion
moved
out
and
was
free.
Lion
looked
down
at
the
little
mouse.
"Thank
you
for
saving
my
life,"
said
Lion,
smiling
his
widest
smile.
"I
was
wrong.
You
are
not
a
powerless
little
mouse.
You
are
a
great
friend!
