We received a letter from a middle school student---Jane. She expressed her opinions on after-school classes for children.
Dear Sir,
In my opinion, it's necessary for us to take after-school classes. Because these classes are good for our development.
After-school classes are good for the children’s future. They can help children get into good schools and universities. Some classes help children learn important skills not taught at school. These skills may actually help children relax. I think people learn better at a younger age. Children have more time than adults, so they should learn as much as they can before they get too busy to learn new things.
In a word, if children are happy to have these after-school classes, they will benefit(获益良多) a lot from them. Yours truly, Jane

possible beginning
I don’t think that children should take after-school classes.
I don't really agree that children should take so many after-school classes.
I disagree with some parents. Because children should have more time to do what they like. They don’t have to study all the time.
All in all, to be a successful person, I believe how to learn and how to be a happy learner are more important than taking after-school classes.
possible endings
I believe it’s better to let their kids be kids. Although it’s normal to want successful children, it’s even more important to have happy children.
If children are allowed to take the classes they choose for themselves, they will benefit more from these classes. They will grow up to be not only successful in their own way but happy , too.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I don't really agree with the opinion that children should take after-school classes because children have to work hard at school and actually they have taken enough stress. Although some parents are right about the ideas to make their children successful, I think children should be respected and have their own interests and hobbies.
Opinion
In my opinion, it is important for parents to talk with their children about whether they are willing to take after-school classes. I believe it is better if parents show their respect to their kids so that there will be a good result. Perhaps communication between parents and children is useful for both parents and children.

五、阅读理解
Knowing how to communicate well needs very personal attention between you and another person; we should face it. Is there a better way to learn how to communicate successfully Yes, there is. Please follow the basic steps below.
  Relax and breathe.
Whether it's a business meeting or a first date, the first thing you must do in order to communicate is to relax.
When you relax, you are in control. You control your reactions(反应) and your reactions do not control you. Breathing is central to relaxation. Take a few deep breaths and your body will begin to be more relaxed. This will help use what you have already known about how to communicate well.
Think and you will be prepared.
Have you heard the old saying, “Think before you speak.” Well, it rings true. By thinking ahead about how the conversation might flow(流畅), you will be better prepared, more relaxed and more confident.
Follow the flow of the conversation.
If you are uncomfortable, being silent will only make it worse and make the other person uncomfortable as well. So when all else fails, you should follow through with small talk until a common topic appears.
A good way to keep a conversation going is to ask the other person questions. People love to talk about themselves and if you do this, they will keep the conversation going, thinking very highly of you. Learning good communication skills is not something out of reach. If you make an effort, you will succeed.
( )31.If you want to communicate successfully, what should you do first
A.To follow the conversation. B.To relax yourself fully.
C.To take as many breaths as possible. D.To prepare the conversation well.
( )32.According to the passage, which of the following is TRUE
A.Relaxation will not help you control your reactions.
B.You will control the conversation by thinking hard.
C.Silence will make the other person feel comfortable.
D.Asking questions will keep a conver-sation going better.
( )33.What's the meaning of the underlined sentence, “Learning good communication skills is not something out of reach.”
A.You will be good at communication if you reach out your hand.
B.Good communication skills can be learned if you try.
C.Not all people can learn good communication skills.
D.Communication skills can be improved easily.
( )34.What is the best title of the passage
How to Begin a Conversation B.Relaxation and Conversation
C.How to Communicate Well D.Personal Communication
