(2023年新高考卷I卷)Personal Forgiveness
Taking responsibility for mistakes is a positive step, but don’t beat yourself up about them. To err (犯错) is human. 1 You can use the following writing exercise to help you do this.
In a journal or on a piece of paper, put the heading “Personal strengths.” 2 Are you caring Creative
Generous A good listener Fun to be around They don’t have to be world-changing, just aspects of your personality that you’re proud of.
At the top of a second page, put the heading “Acts of kindness.” On this one, list all the positive things you’ve done for others. It might be the time when you helped a friend with their homework, when you did the ironing without being asked, or when you baked cookies after the family had had a tiring day. 3
You could ask a friend or family member to help add to your list. 4 That way, you could exchange thoughts on what makes each of you special and the aspects of your personality that shine through. In fact, don’t wait until you’ve made a mistake to try this — it’s a great way to boost self-confidence at any time.
It’s something of a cliché (陈词滥调) that most people learn not from their successes but their mistakes. The thing is, it’s true. 5 We’ re all changing and learning all the time and mistakes are a positive way to develop and grow.
A.A little self-forgiveness also goes a long way.
B.Now list all the characteristics you like about yourself.
C.They might even like to have a go at doing the exercise.
D.It’s just as important to show yourself some forgiveness.
E.It doesn’t mean you have to ignore what’s happened or forget it.
F.Whatever it is, no matter how small it might seem, write it down.
G.Whatever the mistake, remember it isn’t a fixed aspect of your personality.
1.根据空前内容“Taking responsibility for mistakes is a positive step, but don’t beat yourself up about them. To err (犯错) is human. (为错误承担责任是积极的一步,但不要因此而自责。人孰能无过)”可知,作者认为人都会犯错,勇于承担责任固然重要,但是也不要因此而过于自责。结合空后“You can use the following writing exercise to help you do this. (你可以使用下面的写作练习来帮助你做到这一点)”中的“do this”以及下文内容可推断,空处应该内容和“不要太自责”相似。选项D“It’s just as important to show yourself some forgiveness. (宽恕自己也同样重要)”与“不要太自责”语意相近,起承上启下的作用。故选D。
2.根据空前内容“In a journal or on a piece of paper, put the heading “Personal strengths. ” (在日记或纸上写上“个人优点”)”以及空后内容“Are you caring Creative Generous A good listener Fun to be around They don’t have to be world-changing, just aspects of your personality that you’re proud of. (你有爱心吗?有创造力吗?你慷慨吗?是一个好的倾听者?与人相处很有趣吗?它们不一定要改变世界,只要你个性中让你感到自豪的方面就行)”可知,空处指的是列出一些你个性中的优点。选项B“Now list all the characteristics you like about yourself. (现在列出所有你喜欢的自己身上的特点)”符合上下文内容,下文内容具体解释那些是优点。故选B。
3.根据上文内容“At the top of a second page, put the heading “Acts of kindness.” On this one, list all the positive things you’ve done for others. It might be the time when you helped a friend with their homework, when you did the ironing without being asked, or when you baked cookies after the family had had a tiring day. (在第二页的顶部,写上“善举”的标题。在这张单子上,列出你为别人做过的所有积极的事情。它可能是当你帮助朋友做作业的时候,当你没有被要求却主动熨衣服的时候,或者当你在家人累了一天之后烤饼干的时候)”可知,本段主要讲述的是列出一些自己所做的好事。选项F“Whatever it is, no matter how small it might seem, write it down. (不管是什么,不管它看起来有多小,都要把它写下来)”与上文内容一致,讲述的是不管你所做的事情不管有多小,只要是好的事情,都记下来。故选F。
4.根据空后内容“That way, you could exchange thoughts on what makes each of you special and the aspects of your personality that shine through. (这样,你们就可以交换意见,谈谈是什么让你们每个人都与众不同,以及你们个性中闪光的方面)”可知,空处提到了某种方式,这种方式会使得你和朋友们一起交换意见等。选项C“They might even like to have a go at doing the exercise. (他们甚至可能想试一试做练习)”符合语境,C项中的“they”与空前的“You could ask a friend or family member to help add to your list. (你可以让朋友或家人帮你增加你的列表内容。)”中的“a friend or family member”保持一致,同时选项C和下文“In fact, don’t wait until you’ve made a mistake to try this — it’s a great way to boost self-confidence at any time. (事实上,不要等到你犯了错误才去尝试这个——这是一个在任何时候都能增强自信的好方法)”中的“this”一致。故选C。
5.根据空前内容“It’s something of a cliché (陈词滥调) that most people learn not from their successes but their mistakes. The thing is, it’s true. (大多数人不是从他们的成功中学习,而是从他们的错误中学习,这是陈词滥调。但事实是,这是真的)”可知,作者认为人是从错误中学习。选项G“Whatever the mistake, remember it isn’t a fixed aspect of your personality. (不管你犯了什么错误,记住这不是你性格中固定的一面)”符合语境,G项中的“isn’t a fixed aspect of your personality”和空后内容“We’ re all changing and learning all the time and mistakes are a positive way to develop and grow. (我们一直在改变和学习,错误是一种积极的发展和成长的方
式)”保持一致,指的都是犯错并不是性格中固有的一面,我们是通过错误来成长。故选G。
(2023年新高考卷II卷)As an artist who shares her journey on social media, I’m often asked by curious followers how to begin an art journey. Unfortunately, there is no magic list I can offer. I do remember, though, what it was like to be a complete beginner. So I’ve put together some good tips for starting an art journey.
·Start small. I suggest using a sketchbook (素描本) for small studies. These small studies provide inspiration and may be a springboard for more complex works in the future. 6 You’ll want to look back on your journey to see how far you’ve come.
·Paint often and paint from life. There’s no better way to improve than to put in those brush miles. Whether you paint still lifes, portraits, or landscapes, paint from life as much as possible. 7
·Continually challenge yourself to try something new. 8 Artistic growth can be a bit painful. Welcome to the club;we’ve all been there. I love taking on challenges. I once took up a challenge to create a painting every day for a month and post the works online.
· 9 Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial to growth. I post my work on social media and, in turn, have met some of the kindest people. They make me feel valued and respected, no matter my level of artistic ability.
The journey you’re on won’t follow a straight path. 10 Push through, give it time and put in the effort. You will harvest the rewards of an artistic life.
A.Get out of your comfort zone.
B.Make career plans and set goals.
C.Don’t throw away your beginner art.
D.Share your work if you feel comfortable doing so.
E.You’ll hit roadblocks, and you’ll feel discouraged at times.
F.Evaluate your performance and, if needed, redefine your role.
G.You’ll develop that painting muscle memory that only comes with repetition.
【答案】6.C 7.G 8.A 9.D 10.E
I suggest using a sketchbook (素描本) for small studies. These small studies provide
inspiration and may be a springboard for more complex works in the future. 这些小的学习和实践可以提供灵感,并成为未来更复杂的作品的跳板)”以及后文“You’ll want to look back on your journey to see how far you’ve come.
7.分析设空处,位于段尾,是对本段的总结,根据前文“Paint often and paint from life. There’s no better way to improve than to put in those brush miles. Whether you paint still lifes, portraits, or landscapes, paint from life as much as possible. (经常作画,且从生活中作画。没有什么比不断练习更能提高你的艺术水平了。无论你是绘制静物、肖像还是风景,都要尽可能地从真实生活中去观察和绘制)”可知,本段主要讲述不断练习绘画,所以G项“You’ll develop that painting muscle memory that only comes with repetition. (你会逐渐形成只有通过反复练习才能获得的绘画肌肉记忆)”是对前文的总结。故选G项。
8.分析设空处,空处位于第二句,此处应是对前一句的进一步解释,并同时引出后文,根据前文“Continually challenge yourself to try something new. (不断挑战自己,尝试新事物)”以及后文“Artistic growth can be a bit painful. (艺术的成长可能会有点痛苦)”可知,A项“Get out of your comfort zone. (走出你的舒适区)”是对前句的进一步说明,和后文构成顺承关系。故选A项。
9.分析设空处,位于段首,是本段的中心句,根据后文“Seeking and accepting constructive feedback (反馈) is crucial to growth. I post my work on social media and, in turn, have met some of the kindest people. They make me feel valued and respected, no matter my level of artistic ability. (寻求并接受有建设性的反馈对于你的成长非常重要。我在社交媒体上发布我的作品,并因此结识了一些最友好的人。无论我的艺术水平如何,他们都让我感到受到了重视和尊重)”可知,本段主要讲述了是分享自己的作品,所以D项“Share your work if you feel comfortable doing so. (如果你感觉舒适的话,分享你的作品)”符合文意,是本段的中心句。故选D项。
10.分析设空处,空处位于第二句,此处应是对前一句的进一步解释,并同时引出后文,根据前文“The journey you’re on won’t follow a straight path. (你的旅程不会是一条笔直的道路)”以及后文“Push through, give it time and put in the effort. You will harvest the rewards of an artistic life. (坚持下去,给它时间,付出努力。你将收获艺术生活的回报)”可知,E项“You’ll hit roadblocks, and you’ll feel discouraged at times.
(2024·重庆·二模)Self-discipline can be difficult to develop, but it is worth the effort. It makes life easier and more enjoyable by helping you achieve your goals and manage stress. For enhanced self-discipline, try these tips.
Practice delayed satisfaction. Delayed satisfaction is the ability to choose to do something that will benefit you in the long term, even if it means giving up something more immediate. This is a great way to improve your self-discipline. 11 .
Focus on one thing at a time. When you have multiple things on your plate, it can be hard to stay focused. To build up self-discipline, you must resist the urge to do everything at once. 12 . This will help you stay on track and complete your tasks without feeling overpressured.
Repetition and consistency are key. 13 The more you use it, the more effective it becomes. When you are trying to develop self-discipline in one area of your life, start slowly and gradually increase your efforts over time.
Celebrate your successes. Every time you achieve a goal or make a change, celebrate the fact that you have made progress. 14 , so don’t be too hard on yourself when it feels like nothing is happening. Rewarding yourself for even small achievements can help you feel good about yourself and encourage you to keep going.
Surround yourself with supportive people. It’s easier to develop self-discipline if you are around people who
believe in your ability to succeed. Being around negative people can prevent you from seeing the value of discipline and the possibility of success. 15 , which will encourage and motivate you to keep pushing through tough times.
A.Self-discipline is like a muscle
B.It can teach you to focus on the bigger picture
C.The secret to mastery is the willingness to innovate
D.When you set a goal that is too high, it can be difficult to stick to it
E.That is why it’s crucial to put yourself in a growth-minded environment
F.Instead, prioritize your tasks and handle them based on their importance
G.Remember that self-discipline is not something that comes naturally to everyone
【答案】11.B 12.F 13.A 14.G 15.E
11.根据上文“Delayed satisfaction is the ability to choose to do something that will benefit you in the long term, even if it means giving up something more immediate. This is a great way to improve your self-discipline.(延迟满足感是一种选择做一些对你长期有益的事情的能力,即使这意味着要放弃一些更直接的事情。这是提高自律的好方法。)”可知,上文提到了延迟满足的好处,空处承接上文,进一步对其好处进行解释说明,B项中的“it”指代上文的“delayed satisfaction”。B项:It can teach you to focus on the bigger picture.(它可以教会你关注大局。)
12.根据上文“When you have multiple things on your plate, it can be hard to stay focused. To build up self-discipline, you must resist the urge to do everything at once.(当你有很多事情要做的时候,你很难保持专注。为了建立自律,你必须抵制一次做所有事情的冲动。)”和下文“This will help you stay on track and complete your tasks without feeling overpressured.(这将帮助你保持正轨,完成任务而不会感到压力过大。)” Instead, prioritize your tasks and handle them based on their importance.(相反,把你的任务按轻重缓急排列。)
13.根据下文“The more you use it, the more effective it becomes.(你用得越多,它就变得越有效。)” 下文中的“it”指代A项中的“muscle”。A项:Self-discipline is like a muscle.(自律就像肌肉一样。) 故选A。
14.根据下文“so don’t be too hard on yourself when it feels like nothing is happening.(所以,当你觉得什么都没有发生的时候,不要对自己太苛刻。)” Remember that self-discipline is not something that comes naturally to everyone.(记住,自律不是每个人都能自然而然地具备的。)
15.根据上文“It’s easier to develop self-discipline if you are around people who believe in your ability to succeed. Being around negative people can prevent you from seeing the value of discipline and the possibility of success.(如果你周围的人都相信你有能力取得成功,你就更容易养成自律的习惯。和消极的人在一起会让你看不到自律的价值和成功的可能性。)”可知,上文提到了环境对于养成自律习惯的重要性。E项:That is why it’s crucial to put yourself in a growth-minded environment.(这就是为什么把自己放在一个成长的环境中是至关重要的。)
(2024·北京房山·一模)The beginning of the Year of the Dragon has foreshadowed a “Song of Ice and Fire” with the emergence of Sora, a text-to-video AI model. Videos generated by Sora display strong consistency when it comes to characters and backgrounds, and support continuous shots of up to 60 seconds, including highly detailed settings and multiple camera angles. 16
However, film insiders noted that currently, AI-generated 60-second videos cannot support the creation of a full-length movie, and the idea that AI tools will “bomb” the film and television industry is so far unfounded. Meanwhile, experts say not to worry excessively, as the integration of AI will help optimize certain occupations, attract more innovative talents and bring new possibilities to the film and television industry. 17
From the age of film stock to the digital age, from practical effects to digital effects, from 2D to 3D, Sora, like any technological revolution in the century-long history of film, will improve production efficiency, update production and may even create new genres and trends in filmmaking. 18 Students learning film production can view Sora as a helpful assistant to unleash their sci-fi imagination.
Facing the panic signals that AI tools will threaten the global film industry, film insiders argued that the fundamental DNA of film is art and that human creativity cannot be replaced. 19 Many directors, screenwriters, and actors achieve great works by continuously integrating personal emotions and life experiences. This kind of individual creativity cannot be imitated by machines like Sora.
20 However, just as the invention of printing did not replace literature or the invention of photography did not replace painting, Sora and its subsequent updates and upgrades will not replace film because the core of these art forms is creativity, which is a unique aspect of human thought.
A.With OpenAI’s iteration speed, producing AI videos dozens of minutes long is not far off.
B.It is also likely to be incorporated into film and television education and training in the future.
C.Film and television are closely linked to technological advancements, which stimulate creativity.
D.Sora will undoubtedly prompt changes in existing industrial production and may even replace some jobs.
E.Sora is undoubtedly “more of an opportunity than a challenge” for the global film and television industry.
F.Creativity and film production requires the integration of emotional experiences and individual memories.
G.This implies that with just a text description, ordinary people using Sora may be able to become “great directors”.
16.根据上文“Videos generated by Sora display strong consistency when it comes to characters and backgrounds, and support continuous shots of up to 60 seconds, including highly detailed settings and multiple camera angles.”(Sora生成的视频在人物和背景方面显示出强大的一致性,并支持长达60秒的连续拍摄,包括高度详细的设置和多个相机角度。)
17.根据上文“Meanwhile, experts say not to worry excessively, as the integration of AI will help optimize certain occupations, attract more innovative talents and bring new possibilities to the film and television industry.”(与此同时,专家表示不必过度担心,因为人工智能的整合将有助于优化某些职业,吸引更多创新人才,并为影视行业带来新的可能性)可知,选项承接上文说明Sora给影视业带来了机会大于挑战。
18.根据下文“Students learning film production can view Sora as a helpful assistant to unleash their sci-fi imagination.”(学习电影制作的学生可以将Sora视为一个有用的助手,以释放他们的科幻想象力。)
19.根据上文“Facing the panic signals that AI tools will threaten the global film industry, film insiders argued that the fundamental DNA of film is art and that human creativity cannot be replaced.”(面对人工智能工具将威胁全球电影产业的恐慌信号,电影业内人士辩称,电影的基本DNA是艺术,人类的创造力是不可替代的)和下文“Many directors, screenwriters, and actors achieve great works by continuously integrating personal emotions and
life experiences. This kind of individual creativity cannot be imitated by machines like Sora.”(许多导演、编剧和演员通过不断融合个人情感和生活经历来创作伟大的作品。
20.根据下文“However, just as the invention of printing did not replace literature or the invention of photography did not replace painting, Sora and its subsequent updates and upgrades will not replace film because the core of these art forms is creativity, which is a unique aspect of human thought.”(然而,正如印刷术的发明没有取代文学,摄影术的发明也没有取代绘画一样,Sora及其后续的更新和升级也不会取代电影,因为这些艺术形式的核心是创造力,这是人类思想的一个独特方面。)
(2024·内蒙古包头·二模)We all want to know what happiness means and try to find ways to help make our life better. Happiness — you know it when you see it, but it’s hard to define. You might call it a sense of well-being, optimism or meaningfulness in life, although those could also be treated separately. 21 we know that we want it, and that is just somehow good.
We also know that we don’t always have control over our happiness. Research suggests that genetics may play a big role in our level of happiness, so some of us may start out at a disadvantage. On top of that, environmental factors can bring down mood and dry up our thirst for living. 22 . Many studies have found a connection between psychological and physical well-being.
A 2022 review of more than 200 studies found a connection between positive psychological features, such as happiness, optimism and life satisfaction, and a lowered risk of heart disease.
23 . If you have a good sense of well-being, it’s easier to maintain good habits: exercising, eating a balanced diet and getting enough sleep.
24 , and they do not provide hard evidence of cause and effect. But some researchers believe that positive mental states do have a direct effect on the body, perhaps by reducing damaging physical processes. For instance, they found that optimism is associated with lower levels of inflammation (炎症).
If what you mean by happiness is specifically “enjoyment of life”, there’s newer evidence to support that, too. A study in the Canadian Medical Association Journal found that people aged 60 and over who said they enjoyed life less were more likely to develop disability over an 8-year period. 25 . This study does not prove that
physical problems are caused by less enjoyment of life, but suggests a relationship.
A.But whatever happiness really is.
B.It might take more work if your mood is low.
C.For now these studies can only show associations.
D.That refers to the person, and the situation he or she is in.
E.Being able to travel around was also related to enjoyment of life.
F.To manage our emotions is important for both our body and mind.
G.It’s not as simple as “you must be happy to prevent heart attacks”, though.
【答案】21.A 22.F 23.G 24.C 25.E
21.根据上文“Happiness—you know it when you see it, but it’s hard to define. You might call it a sense of well-being, optimism or meaningfulness in life, although those could also be treated separately.(幸福——当你看到它的时候你知道它,但是它很难定义。你可以把它称为生活中的幸福感、乐观感或意义感,尽管这些也可以分开对待。)”和下文“we know that we want it, and that is just somehow good.(我们知道我们想要它,它在某种程度上是好的。)” A项:But whatever happiness really is.(但无论真正的幸福是什么)符合语境。故选A。
22.根据上文“On top of that, environmental factors can bring down mood and dry up our thirst for living.( 最重要的是,环境因素会降低情绪,使我们对生活的渴望干涸。)”和下文“Many studies have found a connection between psychological and physical well-being.(许多研究发现心理健康和身体健康之间存在联系。)”可知,上文提到了情绪因素,下文提到心理健康和身体健康之间存在联系,空处承上启下,说明管理情绪的重要性,F项中的“important for both our body and mind”与下文中的“psychological and physical well-being”对应。F项:To manage our emotions is important for both our body and mind(管理我们的情绪对我们的身心都很重要。)
23.根据上文“A 2022 review of more than 200 studies found a connection between positive psychological features, such as happiness, optimism and life satisfaction, and a lowered risk of heart disease.( 2022年对200多项研究的回顾发现,积极的心理特征,如幸福、乐观和生活满意度,与降低心脏病风险之间存在联系。)”
低心脏病风险存在联系,结合下文“If you have a good sense of well-being, it’s easier to maintain good habits: exercising, eating a balanced diet and getting enough sleep.(如果你有良好的幸福感,就更容易保持良好的习惯:锻炼,饮食均衡,睡眠充足。)” It’s not as simple as “you must be happy to prevent heart attacks”, though.(不过,这并不像“你必须幸福才能预防心脏病发作”那么简单。)
24.根据下文“and they do not provide hard evidence of cause and effect.(它们并没有提供因果关系的确凿证据。)” For now these studies can only show associations(因为目前这些研究只能显示出关联)符合语境。故选C。
25.根据上文“If what you mean by happiness is specifically “enjoyment of life”, there’s newer evidence to support that, too. A study in the Canadian Medical Association Journal found that people aged 60 and over who said they enjoyed life less were more likely to develop disability over an 8-year period.(如果你所说的幸福指的是“享受生活”,那么也有新的证据支持这一点。《加拿大医学协会杂志》上的一项研究发现,60岁及以上的人说他们不太享受生活,在8年的时间里更有可能患上残疾。)”可知,本段内容和“享受生活”相关,E项中的“enjoyment of life”是关键词。E项:Being able to travel around was also related to enjoyment of life.(能够到处旅行也与享受生活有关。)
It’s been estimated that people touch their cell phones hundreds of times every day. That means plenty of opportunities for germs to move from our fingers to our phones.
26 But a recent study found more than 17,000 bacterial gene copies on the phones of high school students.
One of the worst places to use cell phones is in the bathroom. 27 Studies have found that our mobile phones are much dirtier than toilet seats. Just as an expert puts it, taking a phone into the bathroom and then leaving with it is kind of like going in, not washing your hands and then coming back out.
While many of us wash our hands regularly after going to the bathroom, we seldom consider washing our hands after touching our phones. 28
You can use alcohol-based wipes or sprays to clean your phone regularly. They need to contain at least 70% alcohol to disinfect phone casings and touch screens. 29 Remember to sanitize (消毒) your phone charger occasionally when you are cleaning your phone. And wash your hands thoroughly after you’ve finished cleaning.
30 Get in the habit of putting your phone away when it’s not in use, then cleaning your hands. When not at home, keep your phone in your pocket or bag. Use a disposable paper list of to-do items, rather than
constantly consulting your phone.
Do not share your phone with others if you have not first sanitized it. If children are allowed to play with your phone, sanitize it as soon as possible afterward.
A.Do it every day if possible.
B.How you handle your phone will also be critical.
C.So it’s clear that you keep away from your phone.9125
D.When toilets flush, they spread germs everywhere.
E.The more germs they collect, the more germs you touch.
F.Research has varied on how many germs are on an average phone.
G.Fortunately, there are easy ways to avoid your phone collecting germs.

(2024·山西·模拟预测)Making decisions, big or small, can sometimes be difficult. We’ve all experienced indecisiveness. But you can get better at it with practice and time. Here are a few methods to try that may help you become more decisive.
Make decisions for yourself
31 Ultimately, if you trust your intuition(直觉), you will know what the right decision is. Nobody else can give you the correct answers on what’s best for you. Try not to allow others to be the decision-maker for you and your goals.
Let things go
The fear that comes with worrying about making the “wrong” decisions can make one lose his common sense. Try not to worry about mistakes. 32 Once you accept that things are not always in your control, making decisions will be much less threatening.
Talk it out
The simple act of speaking out loud will help lessen indecision and internal conflict. 33 Decisions can become less confusing and worrisome when we do so.
Outline the pros and cons
If you get stuck, draft a simple pro-con(支持-反对)list. 34 Mentally weighing the pros and cons is simply adding to the indecisiveness. Pro-con lists facilitate objective and sound decision-making.
Flip a coin
Of course, flipping(掷)a coin shouldn’t be used for big decisions, such as marriage. But this will work if it’s something as simple as what to order on the menu. This simple trick makes the decision for you. And, there are times when the coin lands the wrong way. 35
A.They’re a part of life.
B.A little practice also goes a long way.
C.If it feels right, voice your thoughts out loud.
D.The important thing to remember is to write it down.
E.Decision-making can have a negative impact on self-worth.
F.Asking 10 people about one topic will only confuse you further.

(2024·湖北·二模)Autonomy-supportive parenting is an approach that focuses on building a child’s sense of agency in the world as well as a strong sense of self. 41 We should recognize that children have a different perspective or experience than adults. Therefore, instead of pushing adults’ way of thinking on children, adults should let kids do their own critical thinking and solve problems themselves, which will help them trust their abilities.
Guide kids to find their own solution
As any parent with more than one child can tell you, kids develop differently. 42 While one child may find it easy to start their homework independently, the other might not be a self-starter. So we push our kids to the next level by knowing their skill level and meeting them there.
Let kids find their own fun
43 It really is harm to them. It also sets us up to be their cruise (航行) directors at all times. That’s a
huge burden on us! Letting children find their own thing to do when boredom strikes allows them to become self-sufficient and use their imagination to find fun on their own.
Being sympathetic doesn’t mean giving in
Another characteristic of autonomy-supportive parenting is being open, curious, and flexible. Trusting children to be accountable to themselves (or acting like it) is the only way you will know if your child will be a responsible, independent adult. For example, if you ask your child when they think is the best time to do their homework, and they tell you it’s in the morning before school begins, support them and let them try it, no matter how strange it sounds. 44
Don’t forget to support yourself
Once you grasp autonomy-supportive parenting, you’ll see opportunities to put it into practice. No matter how old your kid is, adopting this style will not be easy. 45 If you get hard on yourself because you’re not measuring up, you’re more likely to return to the controlling practices.
A.It may work.
B.Our kids don’t know how to manage boredom.
C.That can mean we have to support them in different ways.
D.So forgive yourself if things don’t go right on a particular day.
E.And they may not know yet, but it’s good for them to think about it.

It’s easier to develop self-discipline if you are around people who believe in your ability to succeed.
However, film insiders noted that currently, AI-generated 60-second videos cannot support the creation of a
full-length movie, and the idea that AI tools will “bomb” the film and television industry is so far unfounded.
22 . Many studies have found a connection
between psychological and physical well-being.
25 . This study does not prove that physical problems are caused by less enjoyment of life, but suggests a relationship.
A.But whatever happiness really is.
B.It might take more work if your mood is low.
C.For now these studies can only show associations.

33 Decisions
can become less confusing and worrisome when we do so.

That’s a huge burden on us!
For example, if you ask your child when they think is the best time to do their homework, and they tell you it’s in the morning before school begins, support them and let them try it, no matter
how strange it sounds.
