Not everyone walks into a travel agency with a clear idea of where they’d like to go on holiday, so one of the main roles of a travel agent is to give informative, suitable advice to customers about where and when to travel based on their needs. Soif they hate hot weather, don’t send them to Chongqing in China in summer. Other duties of a travel agent will include:
● Arranging flights, or other modes of transportation, insurance and accommodation.
● Working out an itinerary.
● Working out the cost of travel and dealing with payments.
● Advising customers on travel arrangements, e.g. visas and passports.
● Sending out tickets to customers.
● Keeping customers up to date with any changes.
● Dealing with complaints or refunds if there are any.
As a matter of fact, what travel agents should do often goes beyond this8. But most important of all, they should try to offer upmost customer service.
