READING & WRITING
Read the passage and do the exercises.
The airport terminal building provides many passenger services. They include ticket sales, passenger check-in, luggage handling, and security. Airline employees there make flight reservations for travelers. They also make seat arrangement and organize boarding. Luggage systems in the terminal carry the luggage from each arriving flight and place the luggage on the conveyer belt. From there passengers pick up their belongings.
Airports also provide many support services indirectly related to air travel, such as restaurants, shops, parking, banking services, and so on. Some airports set up office areas for travelers to send and receive electronic mails, fax messages, and also make phone calls. Airport security checks passengers and their luggage to prevent dangerous things and makes sure that the passengers and airplanes are safe.
