many of us can sit down to do this
“People don’t seem to give thanks to people quite often,” Amit Kumar from the University
of Texas said. Why are people uncertain about sending thank-you notes And how do people feel

Kumar and his team asked some students to send a thank-you note to another person by

enjoyed the notes. “When you are a receiver you can feel the warmth of the note,” one of the
receivers said.
The writers also thought it might be embarrassing (尴尬的 ) for the receiver to receive a
thank-you note, but this was not true. “The receivers feel quite happy,” Kumar said. “They don’t
really feel awkward at all.”
“If people know that writing a thank-you note could have such a big influence (影响) on
others, they will do it more often,” Kumar said.
