She washed her face and hands.
He became a doctor three years ago.
Does anyone ever take them to school
You should not do that.
You may be a farmer.
He must finish his homework before playing.
She could play the piano when she was five.其他过去式:may→might;shall→should;will→
would。
I shan’t get there in the morning.
can’t,won’t,shouldn’t。
What shall we do
Paul said he’d come, and I hope he will.
You can all read and write.
I couldn’t walk.
Art can be used to communicate.
① will,would,could 与 you连用,可发出指示或命令。
Will you please pack up and leave
Would you please pack up and leave (语气较will客气)
Could you please pack up and leave (语气较would客气)
All visitors must report to reception.
You must come at once.
③ will,would,can,could与you连用,可用于寻求帮助。
Will you help me (在不太正式的语境中)
Would you help me (较will正式、客气)
Could you help me (比would更为礼貌)
Can you help me
④ can,could,may,might与I,we或名词词组连用,可表示请求某人允许自己做某事。
Can I ask a question
Couldn’t we come with you
May I ask what your name is (正式请求)
I would like you to get us some drinks.(发出指示)
I would like to ask you a question.(提出请求)
After 10:30 at night there shall be quietness in the dorm.
You can borrow that pen if you want to.
We could go to any part of the island.
注意:要表示将来会被允许做某事,要用 will be able to。
You may speak.
Children cannot bathe except in the presence of two lifesavers.
You may not enter the security area without authorization.
Until we have cured you, you won’t be leaving here.
Persons under 18 shall not be employed in nightwork.
You shouldn’t be so unfriendly.
You must not accept it.

electrical appliances electrical cord electrical safety electrical shock
overload an outlet a plug base chargers plug / unplug

Electricity is indeed powerful and helpful, but if we don’t use it carefully in our daily lives, they can also be very dangerous. Here are my tips for electrical safety.
First and foremost, we should keep an eye on the electrical cords. Many electrical fires break out because of old electrical cords.Once they become too old, they must be replaced by some professionals.

Secondly, we should never overload an outlet. An outlet in the wall can connect an extra plug base, but we must limit the number of it.Too many connections are surely potential problems.
Thirdly, we should not unplug any electrical appliances with wet hands. This can cause electrical shocks!

Last but not least, we shouldn’t leave chargers on while we are sleeping the whole night.Sometimes they may blow up.
Bear the above tips in mind.I am sure you will always be safe!

I plod home with my moonlit hoe.
The path is narrow, grasses tall,
With evening dew my clothes wet,
To which I pay no heed at all,
If my desire can but be met.
(Translated by Xu Yuanchong)
Tao Yuanming(365-427) wrote five poems—a suite(组诗)—by the name of Return to Nature, all about his disgust(厌恶) of working for a corrupt(腐败的) government and his longing to return to the countryside. In this third poem, Tao depicts the daily routine of his new life as a farmer. It’s not hard to see that he wasn’t good at farming at all, with weeds growing over his bean shoots. But it also couldn’t be more obvious that despite everything, he preferred this job to his old one—a government official.

The Warrens are a common family. However, this common family has done something special.A few years ago, they moved to the countryside and built a house which was powered(提供动力) by the wind and the sun!
Mr Warren wanted his family to play a role in saving the planet, so he read a lot about the electrical system. Then, he decided to create electricity to power everything they needed for their daily life.
The kids were worried at first.“Will we still be able to watch TV What about the computer ” they asked.“Don’t worry at all,” said their father.“We are going to create our own electricity. It doesn’t mean we have to live in the dark.”
“We are going to set up a wind generator(发电机),” explained Mrs Warren.“Wind is a great way to produce electricity. It’s not only free but also clean. The wind doesn’t blow all the time, though. That’s why we need to store(储存) our power. Then, when there is no wind, we will still have power to run everything in our house.”
Mr Warren added, “We are also going to collect energy from the sun and turn it into electricity. So, when the wind blows, we have power. When the sun shines, we have power, too.”
It’s easy to see that the family really trusts in renewable(可再生的) energy. Now, they are living happily in their self-powered countryside home.
( )3.What might be the author’s attitude towards what the

A.Positive. B.Negative.

(A)
Electricity keeps us warm in winter and cool in summer, cooks our food, heats our water, washes our clothes and provides power for our TVs, radios and computers.Electricity makes wonderful things possible.
Electricity can be very dangerous, too.It can travel easily through our bodies because electricity moves quickly through water and about 70% of the human body is water! What will happen if you get shocked(电击) You will find it hard to breathe, your heart will stop beating and you will get burned and even die! As electricity travels at the speed of light, it’s almost impossible for you to pull away if you really get shocked. And, you should never try to touch anyone who’s been shocked with your hands. You’d better call an adult to help you.
It sounds terrible. But if you remember the safety rules, you can always use electricity safely.
1.What does the writer think of electricity

The writer thinks that the electricity is useful but also
dangerous.
(B)
Let me tell you something very important: Never have water near you when you have something electric not far away! Last month, my family experienced a terrible thing.
My brother Tom had just received a new train set.We decided to build a little “world” for it with mountains, streetlights and even a lake.We found a large board that was big enough to hold the train. We spent over a week building the things with paper and cardboard.
When we finished all the things, we showed everyone our new train set.It was very wonderful. Now, it was time to turn it on.I flipped(按) the switch(开关) and the train began to move.Everyone was excited.
I turned to look at Tom, and he looked strange. He was shaking.“Tom!” I shouted. He didn’t move, looking straight ahead.Suddenly, my dad realized what was happening. He reached quickly for the switch and turned off the train.
The water had leaked(漏) from the bag under the board and arrived where Tom was standing. One of our wires had fallen under the table and was touching it.We sent Tom to the hospital. And luckily Tom was fine.He told us that when the electricity was on, he could not move at all.
We learned a lesson that day.Keep water away from electricity! It’s too dangerous.
2.What does the author try to tell us through the passage

The author tries to tell us that we should be careful when using electricity and remember to keep water away from electricity.
