The analysis of the text 【What】 The theme of this unit is "Weather", which is a topic closely related to daily life and can easily arouse students' interest. Section A 1a - Pronunciation mainly focuses on the description of weather conditions and related listening and speaking activities. 【Why】 To enable students to master common weather vocabulary and be able to use learned sentence patterns to discuss weather and people's activities. 【How】 By studying this section, a foundation will be laid for further learning about expressing and communicating about weather.
The analysis of students Known: After a semester of English learning, students have developed a certain foundation in English and language proficiency. Want: They are curious about new things and enjoy participating in classroom activities, but there are still some shortcomings in vocabulary accumulation and grammar application. Learned: Before studying this unit, students have already learned some basic daily expressions and simple sentence patterns, which provides a certain knowledge reserve for the learning of this lesson. However, further learning and consolidation may be needed for weather related vocabulary and expressions.

Invite several students to read and correct the pronunciation, and then read with the whole class. Students read the words after the teacher and repeat several times, and complete 1a. Evalute how well students were able to recall and discuss relevant background knowledge.
Purpose To lay the foundation for listening activities.
Step III While-listening 1. Let the students see the map and weather information of 1b to briefly introduce the location and weather conditions in different regions of Australia. 2. Play the listening materials, and the students will connect the different areas to the corresponding weather conditions while listening. 3. Play the listening system again, and let the students circle the correct answer(1c). check the answers, and let the students tell the key information they heard. Finnish the listening tasks and repeat after the teacher. Students share their answers and correct them if necessary. To observe whether students can accurately and obtain detailed information.
Purpose By teaching listening strategies, help students better grasp the key points of listening.
Step IV Post-listening 1.1d: Have ss act out a phone conversation with a partner. Talk about the weather near you and what people are doing.. Have some pairs come to the front and have a conversation to show their results. 3. Walk around the classroom and offer help if needed. Invite some pairs to present to the class. Students act out a phone conversation with a partner. Teachers observe whether students can accurately ask and answer questions during group discussions and presentations.
Purpose Guide students to ask and answer questions, laying the foundation for further application of what they have learned in real-life situations.
Step V Pronunciation 1. Show the pronunciation rules and example words of "ar, er, ir, or, ur", and let the students listen to the recording and read it. 2. Let the students observe the pronunciation characteristics of each group of words and try to summarize the rules. 3. Guide the students to come up with a word that conforms to the pronunciation rules of each group to deepen the understanding and memory of pronunciation. Students listen and repeat, paying attention to each group. To observe whether students can follow the the pronunciation accurately and fluently.
Purpose Students can read and memorize the pronunciation accurately with the help of phonetic symbols.
Step VI Summary The teacher leads students to summarize what they have learned. The teacher guides students to complete the assessment. Students recall the learned knowledge of today and complete the assessment form. To check if students can summarize the knowledge they learned.
Purpose Students can talk with each other with the expressions learned.
Step VII Homework You must do: Read the listening scripts. If you can: Write a short article in English about the weather and your family's activities. To help students strengthen the knowledge which they have learned.
Purpose Let students in different level to build up their confidence and expand language output and help students strengthen the knowledge they have learned.
