The analysis of the text 【What】 The theme of this unit is "Unforgettable Day", mainly focusing on discussing past experiences and activities. Section A 1a -pronunciation is the foundational introduction section of this unit. 【Why】 This section not only helps students review existing vocabulary and sentence structures, but also lays the foundation for further learning the grammar of past tense and more complex language expressions. 【How】 To learn and use past tense to describe weekend activities through image displays and related activities.
The analysis of students Known: Students have developed a certain language foundation and listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities after a period of English learning. Want: Students are curious about new things and enjoy participating in various classroom activities. Learned: Students have difficulties in understanding and applying the grammatical concept of past tense, and need to deepen their understanding through specific contexts and exercises.
Core competences    Language ability: Students are able to understand conversations about weekend activities and accurately answer related questions. Students are able to use the past simple tense to discuss their own and others' weekend activities. Learning ability: Improve students' listening comprehension and oral expression abilities, enabling them to use the language they have learned for simple communication. Step I Warm up Greetings. 2. Show some pictures of different activities on the PPT, such as playing badminton, cooking food, going swimming... Then invite a few students to share their favorite weekend activities. Ss answer the questions: What are these activities Do you like to do them on weekends ” Teachers observe students' performance in answering questions and understand their language reserves on the specific vocabulary and sentence patterns they use.
Purpose Guide students to answer questions in English to stimulate their interest in learning.
Step II Pre-listening 1. Present the new words and phrases in the unit by showing the pictures and doing actions. 2. Have ss finish the activity in1a. Students read the words after the teacher and repeat several times, and complete 1a. Evalute how well students were able to recall and discuss relevant background knowledge.
Purpose To lay the foundation for listening activities.
Step III While-listening 1.--- 1b.Have students read the questions in 1b and predict the possible answers. Play the recording and check answers. 2.----1c. Play the recording again. Have the students listen and write P for Peter or TF for Teng Fei for each activity.Check the answers and ask some students to explain their choices. Finnish the listening tasks and repeat after the teacher. Students share their answers and correct them if necessary. To observe whether students can accurately and obtain detailed information.
Purpose By teaching listening strategies, help students better grasp the key points of listening.
Step IV Post-listening 1.1d---Have the students talk about one of the conversations in 1b with a partner using the sentence patterns “How was Peter's/Teng Fei's weekend It was... What did he/she do Well, he/she...” 2. Invite several pairs to present their conversations to the class. 3. Walk around the classroom and offer help if needed. Students act out the conversation in 1b. Teachers observe whether students can accurately ask and answer questions during group discussions and presentations.
Purpose Guide students to ask and answer questions, laying the foundation for further application of what they have learned in real-life situations.
Step V Pronunciation Listen and repeat.Play the recording of the pronunciation part. Have the students listen and repeat the words in each group.Add one more word to each group and have the students practice the pronunciation. -(e)d pronunciation Play the recording of the -(e)d pronunciation. Have the students listen and repeat the words.Explain the rules of the -(e)d pronunciation. Students listen and repeat, paying attention to each group. To observe whether students can follow the the pronunciation accurately and fluently.
Purpose Students can read and memorize the pronunciation accurately with the help of phonetic symbols.
Step VI Summary The teacher leads students to summarize what they have learned. The teacher guides students to complete the assessment. Students recall the learned knowledge of today and complete the assessment form. To check if students can summarize the knowledge they learned.
Purpose Students can talk with each other with the expressions learned.
Step VII Homework You must do: Read the listening scripts. If you can: write a short passage about their own weekend activities using the simple past tense. To help students strengthen the knowledge which they have learned.
Purpose Let students in different level to build up their confidence and expand language output and help students strengthen the knowledge they have learned.

Teaching Reflection In listening teaching, I encourage students to preview vocabulary and texts independently and cultivate their ability for self-directed learning. I guide students to explore language patterns and improve learning outcomes through observation, thinking, and summarization.
