名词复数
用法：可数名词表示数量大于 “一” 时用复数形式；名词复数作主语时，谓语动词通常用复数形式。
变化规则
规则变化：一般情况词尾加 -s如：map - maps；
1.以 s, x, ch, sh 等结尾的词词尾加 -es如：box - boxes；
2.以辅音字母加 y 结尾的词，变 y 为 i，再加 -es如：city - cities；
3.以元音字母加 y 结尾的词词尾加 -s如：boy - boys ；
4.以辅音字母加 o 结尾的词，有生命的加 -es如：tomato - tomatoes ，无生命的加 -s如：photo - photos ；
5.以元音字母加 o 结尾的词词尾加 -s如：zoo - zoos ；
以 f 或 fe 结尾的词，将 f 或 fe 变 v 之后加 -es如：wife - wives
不规则变化：
改变名词中的元音字母如：foot - feet；man - men ；词尾加 -(r)en如：child - children ；单复数同形如：sheep - sheep
语音知识

名词复数词尾 -s 或 -es 的读音规律：在清辅音后读 /s/（sharks / ɑ ks/ ）；在浊辅音和元音后读 /z/（pigs /p gz/；keys /ki z/ ）；在 /s/、/z/、/ /、/t /、/d / 等后读 / z/（classes / klɑ s z/；watches / w t z/ ）
六、易混辨析
1.scary 与 scared：scary 常修饰物，表示某物是吓人的、恐怖的如：That movie is really scary. ；scared 常修饰人，表示某人感到害怕如：I am scared.
2.however 与 but：都表示转折，but 是连词，可连接两个句子；however 是副词，位置较灵活，可置于句首（后面以逗号隔开 ）、主语后实义动词前（前后以逗号隔开 ）、句末（前面以逗号隔开 ） 。例如：My father, however, does not agree.但是我父亲不同意。
3.quite 与 quiet：quite 是副词，意为“相当；完全”如：She is quite right. ；quiet 是形容词，意为“轻声的；安静的” 。
