过去进行时
一、概念
过去进行时表示过去某一时刻或过去某一阶段内正在进行的动作。
二、时间状语
过去进行时常见的时间状语有：at this/that time, yesterday, the whole afternoon, from 8 to 10 this morning以及when, while等引导的时间状语从句等。
三、基本结构
肯定句：主语 + was/were + 动词的现在分词 + 其他。如：
We were watching TV from seven to nine last night. 我们昨晚7点至9点正在看电视。
I was watching a basketball game on TV when the phone rang. 电话响起时，我正在观看电视上的篮球比赛。
否定句：主语 + was/were not + 动词的现在分词 + 其他。如：
Mike wasn't doing his homework at 8:00 last night. He was listening to music. 迈克昨晚8点没有做家庭作业。他在听音乐。
一般疑问句：Was/Were + 主语 + 动词的现在分词 + 其他？肯定回答：Yes, 主语 + was/were；否定回答：No, 主语 + wasn't/weren't。如：
— Were you cleaning your bedroom when I called you 我给你打电话时，你在打扫卧室吗？
— Yes, I was. / No, I wasn't. 是的。/不，我没有。
