More than eighty years ago, a slim, gray rabbit jumped out of a hole in the ground. He knocked on a hairless man's head and asked, "What's Up, Doc " to the tune of the crunch of a large carrot.

While every director put his own understanding on Bugs Bunny, they all agreed on one thing: Bugs was never to be mean-spirited.
For years after Bugs first voiced his signature question, it seemed as though America couldn't get enough of the character and his trickster ways. Within four years, films starring Bugs from the "Merrie Melodies" and "Looney Tunes" series were popular enough to be sold to theaters. He continued to win the hearts and laughs of the people all over the world.
What audience love the most about Bugs Bunny is not his unique personality. Actually, it is his ability to stay true to it. From his opera in "What's Opera, Doc " to his hiking in live action films, such as "Space Jam", Bugs Bunny doesn't change.
More recent animated characters from Bart Simpson to Eric Cartman have established themselves through a certain amount of meanness. But Bugs remains the lovable character that only plays tricks on those who deserve it most.

Matt Doogue, 34-year-old nature photographer, had been suffering from depression when he first found his passion for taking pictures of insects -- and his work is now featured in National Geographic. He says that he tried to take his own life nine years ago after hitting “rock bottom.” “In the beginning, I was so paranoid (妄想的）and angry that I couldn’t leave the house,” says Doogue. “When I attempted to end my life, I knew I needed to see someone. I went to the doctors and got treatment, but I knew that I needed something more 一 and that’s when I started photography."
Now a clad of two, Doogue found that looking at insects through a camera helped him in ways he could never have imagined 一 and it proved to be the lifeline he needed. It had a “calming effect” that helped him to “disconnect” from stress; and his astonishing images, showing insects and spiders in amazing detail against brightly colored backgrounds, caught the eye of publishers at National Geographic. “I ended up as one of their featured photographers,” recalled Doogue. “It was the peak of my career. It was incredible.”
Originally from Salford, Greater Manchester, he now lives in Armadale, West Lothian, Scotland. Though he fears that Scotland is in the middle of an “epidemic” of male suicide, he believes that sharing his love of nature photography can help others to cope with their mental health issues as well. “I think the problem is this ‘man-up’ approach; the idea that men need to be strong puts so much pressure on young males to be fine all the time,” says Doogue. “This is why I try and be so open about my own experience. Whenever I am out with my camera, I don’t think about my other worries. It is just me and the environment around me. You can lose yourself in a spider making its web.”

Every summer, three billion birds migrate (迁徙) from southern Africa to Europe. In winter, they return to Africa’s warmer shores. Both large and small birds travel thousands of kilometers, often stopping at locations along the way to rest. The migration is long and difficult, and some of the animals die during each trip. However, it is not this twice-a-year journey that poses the greatest risk to these animals. The main threat to the birds’ survival comes from people. All over Mediterranean, millions of birds are killed for food, profit, and sport every year. Consequently, bird populations are dropping all over the region.
Countries over the Mediterranean are aware of this, and are taking action. In many European countries, hunting migratory birds is strictly banned. Across the Mediterranean, Nature Conservation Egypt is working to increase protection of its country’s wildlife, including migratory birds. As part of a current project, the group is trying to promote activities such as eco-tourism along the coasts. The hope is that, as more tourists come to visit protected natural areas, there will be an incentive for local people to care for the birds and their habitats.
Wildlife organizations around the Mediterranean are helping to bring about change. " Hunting bans are working,“ says Martin Jacoby, a bird expert. But there is still more to do. Environmentalists hope to stop hunting and restore bird habitats all over the Mediterranean. If this can be done, the birds’ number will increase. “There is a long way to go,” Jacoby says, “but just like after a long journey in the desert, there will be an oasis(绿洲).”

Sohrab's gaze bounced from the kite to me. Back to the sky.
I took off running, my sneakers splashing rainwater from puddles, the hand clutching the kite end of the string held high above my head. It had been so long, so many years since I'd done this, and I wondered if I'd make a spectacle of myself. I let the spool roll in my left hand as I ran, felt the string cut my right hand again as it fed through. The kite was lifting behind my shoulder now, lifting, wheeling, and I ran harder. The spool spun faster and the glass string tore another gash in my right palm. He was obviously walking with a great effort trying to be as still as possible Minutes after he disappeared into the woods, he came running out again toward the house. I went back to make sandwiches, thinking that whatever task he had been doing was completed.
Moments later, however, he was once again walking in that slow purposeful stride toward the woods. This activity went on for over an hour: walking carefully to the woods, and then running back to the house. Finally, my curiosity got the best of me. I crept out of the house and followed him on his journey.
He was cupping both hands in front of him as he walked, very careful not to spill the water he held. Maybe two or three tablespoons were held in his tiny hands. I sneaked closer as he went into the woods. Branches and thorns slapped his little face but he did not try to avoid them. He had a much greater purpose. As I leaned in to spy on him, I saw an amazing sight. A mother deer with a huge pair of deer horns appeared in front of him, with a baby fawn（幼鹿）lying on the dry ground. Matt Doogue, 34-year-old nature photographer, had been suffering from depression when he first found his passion for taking pictures of insects -- and his work is now featured in National Geographic. He says that he tried to take his own life nine years ago after hitting “rock bottom.” “In the beginning, I was so paranoid (妄想的）and angry that I couldn’t leave the house,” says Doogue. “When I attempted to end my life, I knew I needed to see someone. I went to the doctors and got treatment, but I knew that I needed something more 一 and that’s when I started photography."

Every summer, three billion birds migrate (迁徙) from southern Africa to Europe. In winter, they return to Africa’s warmer shores. Both large and small birds travel thousands of kilometers, often stopping at locations along the way to rest. The migration is long and difficult, and some of the animals die during each trip. I took off running, my sneakers splashing rainwater from puddles, the hand clutching the kite end of the string held high above my head. He was obviously walking with a great effort trying to be as still as possible Minutes after he disappeared into the woods, he came running out again toward the house. I went back to make sandwiches, thinking that whatever task he had been doing was completed.
Moments later, however, he was once again walking in that slow purposeful stride toward the woods. This activity went on for over an hour: walking carefully to the woods, and then running back to the house. Finally, my curiosity got the best of me. I crept out of the house and followed him on his journey.
He was cupping both hands in front of him as he walked, very careful not to spill the water he held. Maybe two or three tablespoons were held in his tiny hands. I sneaked closer as he went into the woods. Branches and thorns slapped his little face but he did not try to avoid them. He had a much greater purpose. As I leaned in to spy on him, I saw an amazing sight. A mother deer with a huge pair of deer horns appeared in front of him, with a baby fawn（幼鹿）lying on the dry ground. I almost screamed to get him away.
