Text 6
W: Bill, I heard you bought a new Ferrari car.
M: Oh, it was a total disaster. It was burnt to ashes just an hour after I collected it from the seller.
W: What How could that happen
M: Well, all I know is that I was driving on a motorway, and (6)all of a sudden, the car was out of control and began to run into the grassland beside. Luckily, I didn't panic. I managed to slow it down and get out just before it hit a big tree and went up in smoke.
W: Did you get hurt
M:(7) Just some small cuts and scratches. It's a miracle.
W: Unbelievable! Sounds like an action movie to me.

W: How long did it take to get to the top
M: I remember reading that the average trip takes about six hours to climb up, and about the same to climb down. We took our time
to be careful, though(10)I think we spent about 15 hours up there. I needed to stop many times for a break. I was an annoying customer for that guide.

Text 10
(18) The old belief that foods rich in fat are bad for your health has come into question. The Atkins diet, a popular eating plan developed by Robert Atkins, says the real reason for makingpeople fat is carbs, the substances that provide your body with heat and energy.
The Atkins diet has several stages of weight loss and maintenance, starting with a low-carbon eating plan. It doesn't require you to control the amount of food you have at each meal. It holds that eating too many carbs, especially sugar, leads to blood sugar imbalances, weight gain and other problems. The main dietary focus of the Atkins diet is keeping the balance between carbs,
protein and fats for weight loss and health. (19) So you don't need to avoid fatty cuts of meat——rather controlling carbs is what's important.
Significantly, cutting carbs sharply in the early stages can result in some side effects like headaches and weakness. You'd better consult your doctor before starting the diet.(20) People who suffer from ill health should not follow the diet, and this diet is also not suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
