太空是否值得探索Recently, our class has had a heated discussion about whether space is worth exploring. Opinions vary from person to person.
Some students hold the belief that it is not worthwhile to explore space, saying space exploration is too far away from our daily life and is a waste of money. However, the others are strongly against it, arguing that space is worthy to be explored as space exploration has already made a difference in the fight against world hunger by collecting the latest data and providing suggestions for farmers.
As far as I am concerned, it is worthwhile to explore space as people have benefited a lot from it.
春节是否应该放烟花爆竹Recently, students in our class have had a heated discussion about whether we should light firecrackers during the Spring festival. Opinions on this issue vary from person to person.
Some people are for it. For one thing, lighting firecrackers is a typical Chinese Spring Festival custom, and is to drive away the evil spirits and celebrate the new year. For another, it can add to the festive atmosphere, bringing people much joy. Fireworks of different colors and shapes blooming in the sky carry our best wishes for a happy life. However, other people are against / object to it, saying it’s high time that we should forbid it. Not only can it cause air pollution but also it is likely that some people, especially kids, will get injured. In addition, sparks dropping everywhere will possibly lead to fires.
Personally speaking, I’m in strong favor of the former. We can set off firecrackers and at the right time and proper places.
