This new school year, I wanted my love for my students to be super adaptive, a little bit blind, and similar to the kind of love a mother gives to her children. I wanted a love that could put up with unappealing personalities and behaviors, which had the ability to lead to my “I wish he or she was not in my class” response, with humor, peace, and curiosity.
I decided to go toward the most difficult students with additional kindness, rather than backing away in frustration when my former attempts to change them failed. The changes in my education were faint yet definite. I had always taken students aside when they made poor decisions. But my new plan asked questions that were free of scolding or shame, and more gentle and sincere. Are you feeling all right Is something bothering you What happened last night These questions rarely led to any big “ah ha” moments, but I treated each repeated conversation with patience.
Although my love plan was designed to improve my students’ school experience, it completely improved mine as well. It worked magic on my relationships with students and energised me for the school day. My difficult students represented puzzles to solve and relationships to improve, not frightening trouble that would exhaust my joy. Letting go of the assumption that their behaviors must be purposive choices, I was able to avoid feelings of resentment (怨恨) when my students made mistakes. I felt more peaceful and less angry.
Loving my students also got easier as the year progressed. I wondered whether my approach would work in the long run. Now it turns out that love brings love.

26.What was the impact of the author’s love plan
A.It enabled her to find self-worth.
B.It made her feel more composed.
C.It guided students to be honest.
D.It gave students more spare time.
27.What can we learn from the author’s experience
A.One action can bring two gains.
B.There is some light in the dark.
C.All the worries are for nothing.
D.Facts speak louder than words.
Fromancient epics (史诗) like Homer’s The Iliad, which recorded the heroism and tragedy of the Trojan War, to modern novels like All Quiet on the Western Front or The Things They Carried, war narratives (叙事) often focus on the human cost of battle.
As is known to us all, before a war, stories might center on romance, family, or nature adventure. However, once war suddenly breaks out, the focus changes accordingly. Writers and storytellers begin to present the real emotions of fear, loss, and survival. The tone (语气) becomes darker and tends to examine inner feelings, as the characters struggle with hard choices, sufferings, and the uncertainty of life in the middle of destruction.
Personally, I think war doesn’t just change how stories are told; it also changes what stories are told. Themes of heroism, common in pre-war literature, give way to themes of disappointment, loss of innocence, and the questioning of authority, making people aware of the real society in war literature. Both soldiers returning from war and other people often struggle to fit back into a society that no longer understands their experiences, which serves as a powerful theme in post-war literature. For example, in J.D.Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye, the loneliness of Holden Caulfield can be seen as a reflection of post-World War II society, where many people including Holden Caulfield hated wars and felt isolated due to the horrors they had observed.
Stories are not only a way to document history; they are also a way for people to process sufferings. War is disastrous, and for those who have lived through it, literature often becomes a tool for curing. Writing allows authors to process their pain, sadness, and confusion. For readers, stories about war offer a way to understand reality and they can find themselves relating to the struggles of others so that they can be inspired by those characters.
28.What does paragraph 2 mainly talk about
A.The various reasons of war breakout.
B.The bad outcomes of war expansion.
C.The role of wars in literary revolution.
D.The influence of wars on storytelling.
29.What kind of topic is a hit in war literature
A.Heroism. B.Romanticism.
C.Realism. D.Collectivism.
30.What does the underlined word “isolated” mean in paragraph 3
A.Peaceful. B.Separated.
C.Proud. D.Angry.
31.Why does literature become a tool for curing
A.It helps writers see positive sides.
B.It makes readers ignore the reality.
C.It well connects writers with readers.
D.It serves both writers and readers well.
Is it possible to bring back animals that are extinct Can we revive (复活) the species that once existed on the earth Well, it is a very tricky process but not impossible. We have made major advancements in using certain technologies to copy or culture DNA.Every animal species has a specific genetic impression in its DNA.
To revive ancient extinct animals, the first thing we will need is their DNA samples. We will have to take out their DNA in sound form. Only the most significant DNA samples will increase the chance of reviving these animals. Put simply, we need 100% genetic information or genome (基因组) to bring back a species. Even if it is 95%, we will not be able to process it. A genome is like a book. We cannot lose any of its chapters.
The biggest issue is that when an animal dies, its genome starts to break down due to natural causes. We have learned that it takes 521 years on average for 50% degradation of an animal’s DNA.Therefore, it is very hard to create and de-extinct animals we lost in the prehistoric era. We have found excellent fossils of mammoths (猛犸象化石). One such example is Yuka. It is a mammoth fossil that existed 39,000 years ago in Siberia. Even if we take out its fullest genome, there is a chance that we will not be able to make extinct animals alive. As the mammoths developed from such a genome will be of the same kind, they will tend to develop serious diseases.
Therefore, to revive a species, we need genetic diversity. This diversity creates stronger species and the probability of survival increases. Actually, even the best naturally restored samples will not contain the full genome or genetic impression of a species. That is the point that all the researchers should make efforts to achieve.
32.How does the idea of reviving animals sound according to paragraph 1
A.Unachievable.
B.Unnecessary.
C.Difficult but possible.
D.Easy but time-consuming.
33.What is the function of paragraph 2
A.To offer the analysis of genetic information.
B.To tell the discovery of genetic information.
C.To explain the basis for reviving extinct animals.
D.To introduce the tool for reviving extinct animals.
34.What is implied in the example of Yuka
A.Siberia served as its best habitat.
B.Collecting its genome is difficult.
C.Degradation of its genes is unavoidable.
D.Genetic uniformity lowers its life quality.
35.What might count most for animal revival
A.Survival rates. B.Various samples.
C.Genetic diversity. D.Genetic impression.
South China Normal University is an excellent academic institution, where professors and students at SCNU really care about one another, resulting in a strong feeling of cooperation and an obvious lack of competitiveness. 36 I remember being inspired and surprised by the quality of my classmates’ work.
Moreover, SCNU’s amount of activities and clubs accessible to students truly sticks out to me. There is a society for just about any random interest or passion you may have, and they are constantly hosting interesting events. I recalled tea tasting sessions being part of our college’s off-campus activities. 37 So when I heard about the event, I was overjoyed.
38 I knew how to “taste” tea, why Chinese people enjoy drinking tea, and what mood to be in when drinking tea. I discovered that tea comes in a wide variety of flavors, even within one type of tea, with slight differences in taste. Chinese tea culture, in my opinion, is mostly a continuation of the magnificent traditional Chinese culture. 39 Tea can also be used as a way for individuals to relax in today’s busy world, allowing the spirit, body, and mind to unwind a little and deal with life’s hardships.
Apart from that, our university also hosts a cultural festival. It appeals to international students from various countries to perform music, dance, costumes, and traditional crafts (手艺) that reflect the culture of their home countries, as well as bring different flavors and specialties from various regions. 40
A.Certainly, everyone is motivated.
B.In fact, all students like to attend lectures.
C.It is more complex and ceremonial than only drinking tea.
D.That day, I gained a better understanding of Chinese tea culture.
E.Personally, I enjoy tea and am interested in learning more about it.
F.Still, foreign students can’t totally grasp the essence of Chinese culture.
G.Actually, Chinese and foreign friends can taste the cuisine of various countries.

In our small town, there was a girl named Lily, who was tall and slim, with long golden hair and bright blue eyes. Lily was the standard of beauty. She was popular in school, always surrounded by friends, and was often chosen as the representative for various school events.
On the other hand, there was a new student named Ava. Ava was short and a bit overweight. Her hair was curly and she usually wore simple, unfashionable clothes. When Ava first came to our class, I, like many others, didn’t pay much attention to her. I was part of the group that was always drawn to Lily’s charm and beauty.
One day, our teacher announced a group project on environmental protection. By chance, I was grouped with Ava. At first, I was disappointed, thinking she wouldn’t contribute much. However, as we started working on the project, I began to notice something different about Ava. She was extremely knowledgeable about environmental issues. She had done a lot of research on her own and came up with creative ideas to present our findings. Her devotion was touching.
During the process, we faced some difficulties. At the beginning, our plan was criticized by the teacher. I was ready to give up, but Ava encouraged me. She said, “Don’t worry. We can figure this out. Let’s look at it from a different angle.” Her positive attitude inspired me to keep going. Ava proposed that she’d give a presentation on behalf of the team if we felt embarrassed. We nodded.
As the project neared completion, I found myself looking forward to our communication not because of the project itself, but because of Ava’s company. I realized that I had misjudged her based on her appearance. Now, I was eager to see how this newfound realization would further change my understanding of beauty.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Finally, the day of the project presentation arrived.

66.Dear Nicole,
I’m excited to tell you about the most memorable activity during our school’s Subject Month — the “Science Experiment Show”!
Our physics teacher organized a competition where teams designed creative experiments using everyday materials. My team built a mini water-powered rocket from plastic bottles. Through constant efforts we successfully launched it, and it flew surprisingly far! The best part was seeing other teams’ projects, like homemade volcanoes and solar-powered toy cars.
Through this activity, I learned that science isn’t just about textbooks — it’s about hands-on creativity and teamwork. Now I feel more confident about exploring scientific ideas beyond the classroom.
Did your school ever hold such events I’d love to hear your stories!
Sincerely,
Li Hua

Finally, the day of the project presentation arrived. Ava walked onto the stage. Her confidence and intelligence became even more evident, whose words were full of passion. She patiently explained complex environmental concepts to the audience, using simple and vivid examples. Her explanations were so clear that even one having little background knowledge could comprehend easily. After the presentation, there was a moment of silence, followed by thunderous applause. Our teacher praised her highly, many classmates coming to Ava to express their admiration. I saw the respect in their eyes, which made me feel ashamed of my initial judgment of Ava.
From that day on, I started to see beauty in a whole new light. Beauty wasn’t just about a pretty face or a perfect figure. It was about Ava’s intelligence, her perseverance, and her positive attitude. I began to notice the unique qualities in everyone around me. I made more friends with those who were often overlooked before, and I found that they had rich inner worlds. I learned that true beauty lies in a person’s character and what they bring to the table, not in their outward appearance. This experience with Ava taught me a valuable lesson that I would carry with me for the rest of my life.
