It can remind you that this moment will pass and joy will come again soon.” Reading also explains, “By recording your joyful moments you can return to them whenever you need a little encouragement and relive them in the future.”
“I like drawing so I would draw pictures of me and my friends in my journal because they make me happy. I’d stick in my favourite chocolate wrappers. In 1097, Su Dongpo, a famous Chinese poet, was exiled (流放) to Hainan, a faraway and underdeveloped island. Life there was very challenging, but Su Dongpo refused to give up.
When he arrived, Su Dongpo found that the people in Hainan lived a poor life. Many had little food, and there were no schools for children. Instead of feeling angry about his exile, Su Dongpo decided to help. He believed that education could change lives. So he started teaching the local children how to read and write. Parents were overjoyed, dreaming of a brighter future for their families. His small school brought hope to the community.

His words brought comfort and inspiration to others.
The people of Hainan quickly grew to love Su Dongpo. They admired his kindness, wisdom, and strength. Even though he had been sent to the island as punishment, Su Dongpo didn’t see it that way. He treated his time there as a chance to help others and to find peace within himself.
Years later, Su Dongpo was allowed to leave Hainan. The islanders were heartbroken to see him go because he had changed their lives. Thanks to Su Dongpo’s efforts, the children learned to dream, and the adults found hope. His time in Hainan left a legacy (遗产) that still inspires people today.

A two-week-old baby hippo sat alone on the bank of the Zambezi River in Zambia, a country in Africa. His mother was dead. The morning sun rose and with every passing minute he lost more strength. Without his mother, the baby probably wouldn’t make it through the night.
Luckily, Ian Stevenson and his friends saw the baby hippo. They took him back, fed him milk and eggs. The young animal was saved and soon doubled his weight. He seemed happy and healthy.
Later, the hippo, now called Douglas, was moved to an ideal home at Chipembele, a wildlife center owned by Ann and Steve Tolan. They built a sleeping place for Douglas by a pool where he liked to swim. They fed him every three hours. Douglas enjoyed playing with the Tolans’ pet dogs and swimming in the pool. Sometimes at night, other hippos came from the nearby river to eat grass. At first, Douglas would walk into his pool to hide. “But he soon fought against his shyness and played with them,” Tolan says. When it comes to protecting our environment, recycling is the least we all can do. Well, a seven-year-old boy, Ryan Hickman from California has shown us that it’s never too early to start recycling.
The young boy became interested in recycling after his dad took him to a local recycling center when he was three years old. That experience made a deep impression on him. After that, Ryan decided to start his own recycling business. Later on, Ryan’s recycling company was born.
Ryan collects and sorts bottles and boxes from his neighbours. He and his parents give empty bags to all their neighbours so that their neighbours can save their recyclables for them.
Little Ryan then takes their recyclables to the recycling center.
Since starting his own recycling business, his company has recycled more than 200,000 bottles and boxes. He has also tried to save $11,000 for college. In early 2017, Ryan’s recycling story went hot and he was even invited to be a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
“Ryan is very crazy about recycling, and he would like to get everybody else be interested in in as well,” said his mother. If you are inspired (鼓舞) by Ryan Hickman’s little business, start recycling now. Next time when you walk past a bottle on the ground, please pick it up.

These days, DeepSeek has received a lot of attention on the Internet. So what is DeepSeek It’s a Chinese AI company founded by a man called Liang Wenfeng on July 17, 2023. The team of researchers have studied in the top universities in China and have no oversea educational background, and most of whom are under 34 years old. They are also very good at math, physics and coding. The company works on AI, especially big models. Think of it like building a super smart brain that can think and solve problems like humans (this is called AGI).

This shows that good ideas can beat big money. On its first day online, over 19,000 programmers around the world started projects to study it. Even Meta (a famous U. S. tech company) top scientist said, “This kind of free AI could change the world.”
As a DeepSeek engineer said, “We want AI to be a friend, not something only rich people can use.” With R1, China tells the world that great things come from new ideas and hard work, not just money.

Touch down to Earth
China welcomed three heroic astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu home on April 16. This return ended the Shenzhou XIII astronauts’ six-month space mission. It also marks a major breakthrough for China’s efforts in space.
In order to return home safely, they did a lot of preparations before leaving the space station.
If you are coming home after a long journey, you have to pack up. For astronauts in space, besides their personal belongings, they “packed” experimental data and samples, they would be further researched on Earth.
The astronauts had to tidy up a large number of materials, including goods on the Tianzhou 3 cargo spacecraft, according to Zhong Weiwei, a researcher at the China Astronaut Research and Training Center.
Since the space station had no room service, the three astronauts needed to “clear the house” on their own. They collected a great amount of waste. This included leftover foods, sanitary(卫生) waste and waste from in-orbit experiments. The waste was then put into the orbital module(轨道舱), which burnt up as it reentered Earth’s atmosphere.
To ensure their safe and sound return, the three astronauts had been doing physical exercise to train their muscles on the return to Earth. Based on their in-orbit physical examinations and data, experts had customizeh(定制) exercise plans for each of them to ensure a safe landing.
Travelling in space has been a dream for every Chinese. And now we are looking forward to more explorations.
1.How did experts help the three astronauts return
2.What preparations did the astronauts do before returning to Earth (Give the answer with no more than 20 words).
3.What do you think of staying in space Why do you think so (Give the reason with no more than 15 words)

John was so angry that he wrote a letter to the wind, “Please don’t blow down my barrels.” After seeing that, his father asked John with a smile, “Can the wind read your letter ” The little boy said, “I don’t know. I have no choice but to make the wish.”
The next morning, when John ran to check the barrels, he found that the barrels were blown here and there again. The little boy felt very unhappy and cried. His father came and said kindly, “Son, don’t be sad. We may have no way to deal with the wind, but we may have ways for you, so we can have our own ways to beat the wind.” Then John dried his tears and thought over and over. Finally, he thought of an idea. He filled the empty barrels with water. After that, he went home worriedly.
The third morning, John was so glad to find the barrels were placed in good order. He smiled happily and told his father, “It’s a very simple way, that is, to make the barrels heavier.” John’s father smiled and said, “We can’t change many things in the world, but we can change ourselves.
