Unit 10 How can I improve my English

一、教材分析
1. 教学内容
本课时系教材《英语1 (基础模块) 》第十单元的第四课时。包括Unit Task和Pronunciation Practice 两部分。具体内容为：制定英语学习计划和音标/aI/和/eI/的发音练习。
2. 教学重点、难点
1) 教学重点
单元词汇、语法总复习，制定学习计划
2) 教学难点
/aI/, /eI/ 的发音练习
二、教学目标
1. 知识目标
1) 掌握并正确使用相关词汇与情态动词表达英语学习；
2) 正确朗读音标/aI/和/eI/。
2. 能力目标
1) 能正确反思自己的英语学习情况，并能制定合理的学习计划；
2) 能正确朗读发音/aI/和/eI/。
3. 情感目标
能够运用所学语言制定自己的英语学习目标并能拟订合理的学习计划。
三、教学步骤
Step One Lead-in. (4m)
Make a comment for the Ss’ homework. Show some good sentences made by the students on PPT.
(设计意图：通过在PPT上展示部分学生作业再现本单元重点，不但达到复习效果，也 为单元任务环节做准备。)
Step Two Unit task. (25m)
1. Write down the situations where you may need to use English in your future work. The first line is given as an example.
I can introduce the dishes in my restaurant to foreign guests.
I can offer help at the crossroads when foreigners ask for directions.
I can introduce places of interest in China to foreign guests.
2. Make a list of things you need to learn or improve in order to use English in your future job.
I need to learn many English words to introduce the dishes.
I need to learn many English words for directions and the places of the city. I need to recite many English sentences introduce places of interest.
3. Make a list of things you plan to do. Learn 5 new words every day.
Practice pronunciation 30 minutes every day.
Watch English TV programs three times a week.
4. Work in groups. Tell your group members what you need to learn or improve and what you plan to do. Then ask your group members for some advice.
5. Think about your group members’ advice and revise your English learning plan.

Step Three Pronunciation practice. (12m)
1. Teach the Pronunciation rules of the two phonetics.
2. Ask the students to reed the following words slowly and clearly. /aI/ type kite fight like Mike
/eI/ tape Kate fate lake make
(设计意图：明确发音规则；通过发音比较，体会两者区别，掌握发音要点。)
3. Listen and repeat. Read the poem after the tape and the teacher should pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

Have the wish I wish tonight.
(设计意图：跟磁带和老师朗读正确发音。)
4. Read the poem in turns, one sentence each.
(设计意图：使学生集中注意力练习发音，确保每个学生都能正确发音。)
Step Four Self-check. (3m)

五、教学反思
本单元教学系本册教材最后一单元，学生在一学期的英语学习后，在听、说、读、写各技 能上都有所提高，并能就各模块的任务要求，不同方式的教学活动积极配合开展。本单元要点 更是贴近学生的真实英语学习，不但在各板块中反复学习掌握与英语学习有关的词汇和句式， 而且帮助学生反思存在的学习困难并探究解决方法。听说与阅读部分设计巧妙引导学生思考不 同职业的人在不同场合运用英语的情况，进一步突显英语学习的重要性，使学生在思想上形成 学习迫切感，主动参与到学习活动中来。
