一、教材分析
1. 教学内容
本课时系教材《英语3（基础模块）》（高教版）第一单元的第四课时，即Vocabulary practice 和Unit task部分。通过在具体语境中的使用和操练，巩固本单元重点词汇的学习和应 用。最后让学生选择晚会活动内容，设计一个新年晚会的活动，让学生在完成真实任务的同 时，提高语言综合运用能力。
2. 教学重点、难点
(1) 教学重点
① 学生能熟练运用invite ... to, dress up, share ... with, have fun, prepare for, go on, be covered with, in public, get ready for, delicious food等介绍并描述节日活动。
② 学生能够合作完成对新年晚会活动和节目单的设计。
(2) 教学难点
① 学生能够在具体语境中正确运用下列词汇：invite ... to, dress up, share ... with, have fun, prepare for, go on, be covered with, in public, get ready for, delicious food。
② 学生能积极参与到新年晚会活动的设计中。
二、教学目标
1. 知识目标
(1) 学生能用invite ... to, dress up, share ... with, have fun, prepare for, go on, be covered with, in public, get ready for, delicious food等介绍并描述节日活动。
(2) 学生在完成任务的过程中熟练运用下列句型： Would you like to ...
Which do you prefer ... What do you hope to do
2. 能力目标
学生能听懂和说出对节日活动和庆祝活动经历的描述，并能读懂和写下对新年晚会的设计 活动。
3. 情感目标
在活动过程中，学生能与人分享自己的观点，学会倾听，相互合作。
三、教学步骤
Step I Lead-in
1. Check the homework.
The teacher invites two students to retell the story about celebrating the Mid-autumn Festival to check the homework.
The teacher says, “The story that two classmates retold just now tells us a lot they did for Mid-autumn Festival. Now if you are going to hold a Christmas party, what will you do ” Then the teacher asks several students to answer the question.
(设计意图：让学生复述活动16中关于中秋节的庆祝活动， 一方面检查学生的课后作 业，另一方面也通过老师的提问引入到Vocabulary practice中的活动18的学习。）
Step II Vocabulary practice
1. Ask and answer. (Activity 18)
Students work in pairs to ask each other according to the questions listed in activity 18 which contain the important words or phrases of Unit 1 (invite to, dress up, ask ... to, perform, delicious food, share with, go on till late night, have fun, prepare for). At the same time, students write down the answers.
(设计意图：在相互提问和回答的过程中，检测学生对本单元重点词汇和短语的理解情 况，通过语言实际应用记忆和学习单词。)
2. Choose and complete. (Activity 19)
Students work in pairs to ask each other and choose right words to fill in the form. A: What will you do if you hold a party
B: If I hold a party, I will ...
A: What will you do if you join a party B: If I join a party, I will ...
After that, the teacher asks some students to read the sentences to see if students can use the words or expressions correctly.
(设计意图：充分发挥学生的创造力，根据自己的想法选词并完成表格，通过这样的开 放性应用活动帮助学生熟练掌握本单元的重点词汇和短语，为接下来的看图表达做好准 备。)
3. Look and talk. (Activity 20)
At first, students work in pairs to match the words with the pictures. The teacher asks several students to describe the pictures one by one to make sure students can make up the sentences correctly. After that, students tell the story on the basis of the sentences made up
just now. Finally, the teacher asks two students to come to the front of the class to tell the story.
(设计意图：通过用所给词语描述参加晚会的经历这项词汇应用活动，帮助学生在真实
语境中正确使用本单元关键词汇。）
Step III Unit task
1. Pre-task
The teacher says,“From the story, we get to know Wang Lin really enjoyed the party. Do you like to hold a party We have a good plan to hold a party. Now our class is going to hold a New Year’s party. In today’s class, each group should work together to plan a party. Of course, We will select the best one as the final.”
(设计意图：选择贴近学生生活的任务活动可调动起学生的积极性，主动参与到课堂活 动中来。）
2. While-task
1. Discuss in the group.
Ss discuss within groups and decide on the activities which will be arranged for the party. And list the activities on the paper.
1) tell a story in public

2. Develop the activities into a questionnaire . Interview the classmates with the questionnaire and takedown the answers.

Step IV Post-task
1. Decide on the best plan.
Every group shows the plan and the whole class decide on the best one.
2. Design a program schedule.
The teacher shows a program schedule on the screen and students work together to fill in the schedule according to the plan decided on just now.

Step V Homework
Design an invitation letter and invite teachers or students in other classes to join the party. (设计意图：设计邀请函并向老师和同学发出邀请，使课堂的活动设计有个完美的结 果。让学生能感受到学完本单元后所带来的成果的快乐。)
