Read and focus.The teacher shows the following sentences on the screen:1) My boss asked me to cash a check, but I don’t know how to do it.2) The staff just told me to write the account number on the back of the check.3) The loan officer asked the man to write a check.4) Sorry for having kept you waiting.The teacher asks students to read the sentences and focus on the bolded words. Then the teacher lets several students summarize the structure of the bolded words.That is: verb+ objective+ to do / doing.(设计意图:通过总结本单元出现的例句呈现基本的语法用法。让学生了解非谓语动词 作宾语补足语的不同情况和哪些动词后使用不定式,哪些动词后用动名词。)Step II Grammar focus1. Read and underline. (Activity 15)Students read the sentences of the activity 15 and underline the same structure as the above four sentences. The teacher checks the answers, especially reminding students to pay attention to the different structure between the following sentences.1) I advise you to prepare more food for your party.2) He has taught his dog to perform tricks.4) He encouraged me to tell a story in public.5) Please remind me to get ready for the meeting on Friday.6) I found him reading when I passed by.and two sentences that don’t contain the structure (verb+ objective+ to do / doing).3) I hope to apply for a credit card of my own.7) Can you imagine having dinner with Chang’s on the moon (设计意图:再次阅读句子并画出相关非谓语动词作宾语补足语的语法结构,让学生再 次明确该结构,并注意与非谓语动词作宾语结构的区别。)2. Read and find.The teacher hands out the paper, and students read the dialogue to find out the different structure (verb+ objective+ to do / doing. verb+ to do / doing).Mary is a fat girl. One day she didn’t feel well. She came to the doctor.Mary: I don’t feel well, Doctor. Doctor: I’m not surprised.Mary: I can’t stop eating when I see delicious food. What did you eat Mary: Three cakes, two bottles of coke, four sausages, two apples. Oh,I remember having chocolates.Doctor: I advise you to imagine becoming much fatter if you eat so much food.
