一、教材分析
1. 教学内容
本课时系教材《英语3》(基础英语 高教版)第五单元的第四课时,包括vocabulary practice & Unit Task 两部分。要求学生能够利用本单元所学词汇和语法最终完成制定社会实践 计划的单元任务。
2. 教学重点、难点
(1) 教学重点
学生能够在具体语境中运用本单元有关实习的词汇和句型。
(2) 教学难点
在教学中如何引导学生一步步完成制定社会实践计划的单元任务。
二、教学目标
1. 知识目标
通过在具体语境中的使用和操练,巩固本单元重点词汇: take part in, social practice, organize, an assembly line, be divided into, hold, a success, hold such activities, corporation。
2. 能力目标
(1) 学生能够结合具体语境使用和操练本单元重点词汇。
(2) 学生能够通过合作学习,完成制定社会实践活动计划。
3. 情感目标
通过社会实践活动计划的制定,学生之间能进一步加深了解,同时感悟团队合作精神。
三、教学步骤
Divide the class into six groups.
Step I Lead-in
Teacher asks Ss the four questions inactivity 21 first. Then teacher reported the result of the answers.
Thirdly, ask Ss to do it in the group. One acts as an interviewer and the others answer his / her questions. After they finish this activity, teacher asks 4 interviewers to report the results of their groups.
(设计意图:通过问答来评价学生是否理解本单元的核心词汇,同时也训练了学生的口 头交际能力。)
Step II Vocabulary practice
1. Help to complete the dialogue.
T: From the results that you reported just now, I know you have taken part in some social practices. Here I’ll introduce Jack to you. He has also taken part in the social practice and now he is talking with Jack. Let’s look at the dialogue that they are making. In the dialogue, there are some blanks. Please use the words given to you to fill in the blanks.
Give 2 minutes for Ss to read and complete the dialogue. Then ask Ss to read the dialogue together. Teacher explains some phrases and sentences:
Longtime no see. = Haven’t seen each other for a long time.
in open air = out of the house / outside hold = have / organize from time to time = now and then
(设计意图: 通过教师的介绍引出对话任务 Jack ,帮助学生理解对话,再让学生选择适 当的词语补全对话来培养学生的词汇应用能力。)
2. Competition: answer questions about social practice
T: You did a good job. Next I want to check your knowledge again. Here I’ll give you five questions, who can answer it in a completed answer. You must use the words and phrases in the brackets. Of course, you can answer the same question in different answers or according to your own experiences.
Ask Ss to read the questions of activity 23 for two minutes. Then have a competition between the groups. Teacher points at which question, Ss answers it quickly in turn. The one who answers completely can get more scores.
(设计意图: 本活动是个开放性应用活动,目的在于训练学生对括号内词语的应用。 学 生可根据自己的真实情况,但必须用到括号内的词语,以防有些同学偷懒。通过比赛的 形式促使每个同学开动脑筋,多想多用词汇以达到小组得分的胜出,同时也活跃课堂气 氛。)
Step III Make a social practice plan
T: OK, most of you have taken part in the game just now. And I know some of you have participated in the social practice but some of you haven’t. Now our class is going to organize a social practice program this summer. This time we will collect ideas for the practice.
1. First, please work in groups and decide on the items of investigation. Give Ss two minutes
to discuss in the group. Then ask some Ss to answer. If Ss can’t understand it, teacher can give some examples such as time, place, activity, what to do ... to remind them to think of more items.
2. After showing items, ask Ss to decide what questions to ask.
T: You have thought of some items, so next you should complete the questions, then you can make an investigation. You can ask questions according to the places where you’re going to.
e.g.: (about hotel social practice) Which hotel we should go
When shall we meet at the hotel
Who is responsible for contacting the hotel manger
When we visit the hotel, which department should we visit What is the working procedure of this department
Teacher walks around the class to see whether each group can do it or not and help solve some problems that some groups may have.
3. Design a questionnaire.
Three minutes later, teacher can ask Ss to fill in the questions they have made in the questionnaire.
4. Interview Ss by the designed questionnaire.
Ask one of the Ss in the group to interview other Ss in the group by the questionnaire. Then write down what Ss said in the form. It may need five minutes.
5. Make a plan for the social practice.
Teacher hands out a big piece of paper for Ss to make the plan. Then asks Ss to complete the information of the plan according to the information on the questionnaire. Teacher reminds Ss to pay attention to making notes about this plan.
6. Present the plan and choose the best one.
After they finished, show the paper in front of the blackboard. According to the pictures, words and contents of the plan, Ss choose the best one for the social practice.
(设计意图:制定社会实践计划是本单元的任务。根据对话和课文中所学的词汇和句 式,让学生根据自己的专业特长和兴趣爱好,通过讨论调查项目,制定出需要问的问 题,再设计调查问卷、进行采访,最后制订适应本班同学或本组同学的实践计划。学生 在一个个小组讨论中合作学习,步步为营,展开活动,最后完成任务,从中感悟团队合 作的力量。)
