(第一课时教学设计)
一、学情分析
本教案授课对象是高二外英2班,经过一年的教学,本班各方面情况如下:
1. 班级基本概况:本班女生28人,男生16人。
2. 学生学习兴趣和学习基础
本班级为外英专业实验班,英语基础相对较好,经过高一一年的学习,学生通过不同话题 的英语操练,在不同任务的驱动下,在灵活多样的教学活动中,提高了英语学习的兴趣,养成 了较为良好的英语学习习惯,拓宽了文化视野。几个英语尖子生参加了学校的英语兴趣小组, 让他们有了施展才华的空间,但是一部分同学还是对英语学习存在焦虑心理,不会自主学习。
二、教材分析
1. 教学内容
本课时系教材《英语3(基础模块)》(高教版)第八单元的第一课时,包括Lead-in 和 Listening and speaking 两部分。本课时主要通过学生辨认和回忆日常生活中常见的安全警示和 标识,学习相关的词汇和短语,通过听说让学生了解有关安全事故的相关报道、类似事件的评 论以及结合生活给出的具体建议。本部分内容涉及到描述、评论和建议的相关表达方法,同时 培养学生接受和提出安全建议的口语表达能力。
2. 教学重点、难点
(1) 教学重点
在导入和听力活动中加深对词汇和短语的记忆。
通过操练对话巩固有关警告、咨询和提建议相关重点句型。 指导学生在给定情境下使用所学语言进行口语训练。
(2) 教学难点
在给定情境下如何运用所学语言进行口语训练。
三、教学目标
1. 知识目标
(1) 在导入环节中通过图片识别caution, emergency, accident, speeding, speed limit, traffic signs的意思。
(2) 能运用suggestion, the main cause of, becaused by, it’s wrong to dosth, remember (not) to dosth, give advice on在日常安全方面提出建议。
2. 技能目标
(1) 学生能根据听到的信息辨别出安全问题及如何解决这些问题的建议。
(2) 学生能运用“Never dosth. ... ” “Do sth ... ”和“Don’t dosth ... ”等句式对他人的安全问题 提出自己的意见和建议。
(3) 学生能运用“I see. Any other suggestions ” “I agree.” “Yes, I think that’s ...”等表达方式对 别人的建议表示赞同或感谢。
3. 情感目标
树立文明和谐的社会公德意识,注意个人和公共安全。 学生能在关注自己安全的同时,关注他人的生命安全。
四、教学步骤
Step I Lead-in
1. Watch a video.
Ask the students to watch a video about a car accident with the following question: What caused the accident
Ask some students to share their causes.
(设计意图:补充活动,利用多媒体视频导入新课,能吸引学生的视觉和听觉,让学生 对新课产生学习兴趣。)
2. Look and match (Activity 1)
Work in pairs. Read the phrases and match the signs. Encourage the students to guess the meaning of the new words according to the caution signs.
Check the answers one by one. The teacher teaches the correct pronunciation and gives
the explanation of the new words when giving the feedback. Reference answers:

3. Listen and answer (Activity 2)
Ask the students to listen to the tape and answer the question: What are the speakers talking about
Check the answer and give the feedback.
Train students not to shout out the answer. Ask one student, and then ask the others to agree or disagree with a show of hands.
Reference answer:
They are talking about a traffic accident.

4. Discuss and practice (Activity 3)
Work in pairs. Ask them to discuss the reasons that may cause traffic accidents. One student of each pair may report their reasons.
A: What are the causes of most car accidents
B: In my opinion,speeding is perhaps the main cause of car accidents. Teacher may list the causes on the blackboard.
(设计意图:综合前面的活动中所涉及的主题,在识别警示牌并了解了车祸对话内容 后,鼓励学生开拓思路,探究事故发生的原因。)
Step II Listening
1. Listen and answer (Activity 4)
Ask the whole class to listen to the tape and answer the question. What are they talking about
Before listening, ask the students to give a prediction. List their answers. Listen to the tape and check the answer.
The teacher gives the feedback. Reference answer:
They are talking about the safety cautions.
(设计意图:训练学生听对话把握主旨的能力,为后面的细节听力活动做准备。)
2. Listen and tick (Activity 5)
The whole class will read and translate the sentences before listening to the tape. Explain
some of the sentences if the students have difficulties. Ensure everybody can understand them.
Play the tape, pausing after the key sentence and let the students judge the sentences. Play it twice if necessary.
Reference answers:
(1) (T) According to “there was a car accident in the city yesterday.”
(2) (T) According to “It’s reported that the driver drank too much wine.”
(3) (T) According to “ First, know the speed limit and don’t drive too fast. That’s how most accidents happen.”
(4) (F) According to “Never drive when you are sleepy.”
(5) (T) According to “ ... remember not to use your mobile phone while driving.”

3. Listen and underline (Activity 6)
Play the tape, and ask the students to underline the sentences that we used for warming, informing and giving advice.
Check the answers and explain some of the sentences. If necessary, ask the students to
make short conversations using the sentences patterns. Reference answers:
(设计意图:呈现重点句型,为后面的语言输出做好准备。)
4. Listen and complete. (Activity 7)
The students listen to the tape and work in pairs, discuss the driving safety tips and complete the tips.
They may do it by themselves, then check the answers with their partners. Ask some
students to share their answers. Check together and give the feedback. Reference answers:
(1) Never drive after drinking.
(2) Know speed limit.
(3) Don’t drive too fast.
(4) Pay attention to the traffic lights and the traffic signs.
(5) Never drive when you are sleepy.
(6) Don’t use your mobile phone while driving.
(设计意图: 培养学生提取具体信息的能力,通过完成小贴士的方法使学生集中精力于 具体信息,培养学生选择性听力的技能和记笔记的能力,锻炼基本语言转换能力。)
Step III Speaking
1. Read and act
Ask the students to read the dialogue in pairs.
2. Read and remember.
Give the students three minutes to read the dialogue and try their best to remember it. Then have a memory test to see how much they have got.
Linda: Did you watch TV last night
Ben: No,I had to finish a report. What was on
Linda: There was yesterday.
Ben: Another one What caused the accident this time
Linda: It’s reported that .
Ben: Oh, no, drunk-driving again. It has become a very serious problem now.
Linda: Yeah, there are more and more cars on the road today. That’s another problem.
Ben: I’ve just got my driver’s license and want to buy a new car.
Linda: Good! But you must remember .
Ben: Certainly. I will be careful.
Linda: Still I want to . First . That’s how most accidents
happen.
Ben: I see.
Linda: You should .
Ben: Yeah,I think that’s very important.
Linda: Never and remember .
Ben: Thank you forgiving so much advice. Linda: Be safe!
3. Read and act.
Ask some pairs to act out the dialogue.
(设计意图:以上活动为补充活动,旨在让学生熟练对话,并机械操练重点句型,为下 面的给定情景中操练句型做好铺垫。)
4. Discuss and match. (Activity 8)
Ask the students to match the question to the proper suggestion or warning. First,the teacher will give an example:
The pan is on fire. Don’t use water to put out the fire.
Secondly, ask the question according to the order. Train students not to shout out the answer. Ask one student, and then ask the others to agree or disagree.
Then, divide the students into several groups. One student will create a situation; the other three may give suggestions or safety notice.
Evaluation: Choose the best advisers. Reference answers:

5. Act and practice. (Activity 9)
The teacher may demonstrate with a student to give students a model.
Work in pairs. Ask them to choose one of the three situations or create a new situation. Make a short dialogue with their partner.
Invite some pairs to share their dialogue before the whole class. Evaluate it and give the feedback.
Reference answers:
A: Could you please give me some advice on traveling safety tips I am going to Thailand next weekend.
B: Yeah,first of all, don’t carry all your cashes and credit cards in one place. A: OK,I will remember it.
B: Good! Don’t eat or drink things from strangers in bars and on trains. It could be dangerous to do so.
A: I agree.
B: Still, I want to warn you. Be careful in crowded places: local markets, bus stations. Don’t share taxis with strangers.
A: I see. Any other suggestions
B: Don’t walk alone at night. Ask the travel agent or the local police for help if you have trouble.
A: Yeah,I think that’s very important.
B: Always remember it’s better to lose a few dollars than to get hurt by some thieves.
A: Thank you forgiving me so much advice. B: Be safe and enjoy yourself!

Step IV Homework
1. Finish exercise book Page 73 Exercise 1-3.
2. Make a dialogue with your partner about tips for taking a train or cooking.
(设计意图: 练习是对本课时所学内容的巩固与检测,自编对话是知识拓展与延伸。)
