Moreover, he should also hold the workers responsible for the proper use and maintenance of their tools.
Knives and scissors must be sharp; dull tools can be more dangerous than sharp ones.
Floors should be kept as clean and dry as possible to prevent accidental slips with or around dangerous hand tools. Finally, workers must wear personal protective equipment, e.g. masks, earplugs and gloves.

Where Did You Learn to Use an Axe Like That
A company needed to hire another woodman, and the first person to apply was a short and thin fellow, who was laughed at by the manager and told to leave.
“Just give me a chance,” the little guy begged.
“OK,” the manager replied, “Take your axe and cut down that tree over there.”
Two minutes later he was back at the manager’s office, “Tree’s cut, can I have the job ”
“I don’t believe it. That’s so much faster than even my best woodman could have done it. Where did you learn to use an axe like that ” the manager asked.
“The Sahara Forest,” the little guy replied.
“Don’t you mean the Sahara Desert ” the manager corrected him.
“Sure, that’s what they call it now.”
Question:
Was the guy being serious by saying that he used to
work in the Sahara Forest
No, he was joking. He said it to show that he was really fast and
efficient at cutting down trees.(共27张PPT)

Text A
Giant Swiss Army Knife
Wenger, the maker of the Swiss Army knife, has marketed a 9-inch long, 3-pound knife that contains a total of 85 tools.
As the world’s largest Swiss Army knife, this gadget has over 100 functions. It has a wide range of handy tools, including several that you’ll probably never use. But that’s the fun of it. There are seven blades, three types of pliers and seemingly countless screwdrivers, saws and wrenches. There’s even a battery operated torch and a laser pointer with a 300-foot range.
This giant knife is certainly not going to win any award for the lightest, smallest or most efficient tool, but it probably will win the title “King of All Tools”. And even though this knife is a monster, don’t worry — it does have a key ring so you can carry it with you.

How to Use a Screwdriver
There are many different types of screwdrivers, but the two most common screw-drivers are the standard, flat-headed screwdriver and the Phillips head screw-driver. In order to use these screwdrivers properly, you must match the size and type of screw with the size and type of screwdriver. Once you have the correct screwdriver, using it is quite easy.
When inserting a screw, first note the type of screw you are using and get the right screwdriver for the job. Place the screw in the correct position. Then, insert the tip of the screwdriver into the head of the screw. Press down firmly on the screw head by holding the handle of the screwdriver and applying pressure. Finally, turn the screwdriver to the right until the screw is full of the material you are working with or until the screw is secure.
