转折让步关系:but、yet、however、although、instead、though、while、whereas despite等。
并列递进关系:and、or、also、besides、even 、similarly、in the same way、meanwhile、furthermore、moreover等。
因果关系:therefore、thus、as a result、 for this reason 、of course等。
解析、举例关系:for example、for instance、that is to say、in other words、that means等。
巧用代词线索
代词用于指代上文提及的人、事物或整句话。但凡空格前后、选项中出现代词时,应查找到具体代指的内容,代人选项后检查前后语义是否连贯、合乎逻辑。巧用代词线索,不仅有助提高解题速度,而且有助提高答题的准确率。
考法探究
方法1 分析上下文语境
  在做阅读补全题目时,首先要通读全文,根据上下文语境判断设空处想要表达的意思,进而确定答案。
例 Do you ever wish you had more time Everyone gets the same amount of time each day. But here are ways to use those hours better. As a popular saying says, “Work smarter, not harder.”
The most important way to manage your time is to set priorities(优先事项). 1 Also, consider whether or not they are urgent—if they need to be done right away. It can be easy to forget important tasks that aren't urgent, so make time for them.
...
A.Think about the time of day you work best.

C.Figure out(弄明白) which of your tasks is the most important.
D.Often, managing time means saying no to things that aren’t so important.
E.Meetings also tend to be a waste of time, so avoid them whenever possible.
解题思路 根据该空前面一句可知,管理时间最重要的方法是设定优先事项。优先做的一定要是最
重要的事情,所以本句要与最重要的事情相关,故选C。
方法2 分析逻辑关系
句子之间的逻辑关系包括并列、递进、转折、因果等。可以通过and, then, not only...but also..., but, however, though, because, so等词确定。
例 ...
Write down what you need to do and when. I keep two to-do lists: one for the present tasks and one for
larger projects I'm working on. 3 And I don't get discouraged by looking at a long list of items I
can't finish. I focus on the shorter list of each day's tasks.
...
(选项同方法1例题)
解题思路 该空后的And表示并列关系,判断该空应该是和后面两句一样讲述有两个待办事项的清单的好处,故选B。
方法3 根据承上启下关系推断

Every culture has its own proverbs (谚语). 1 They go back tens, hundreds, even thousands of years, and summarize the practical experience of the people who use them. Because proverbs give sound advice, they help us make decisions. The Chinese proverb “One step in the wrong direction can cause a thousand years of regret.” is a good example. Anyone who’s about to make a decision in a rush, without weighing the pros and cons first, is warned of the terrible consequences (后果) of a bad choice .
Sometimes proverbs can seem to have different meanings. 2 Some think that the proverb is a warning for people who keep moving and never settle down. If these people “ gather no moss (苔藓)”, then it means they haven’t achieved anything. 3 if you don’t move and change with the times, you’ll become like an old mossy piece of rock .
4 Maybe this is because proverbs have traveled and have been translated from one language to another, or maybe it’s because they’re just common sense. An expression similar to “ You’ll reap (收获) what you sow (播种).” appears in many languages, and it means that you’ll get what you give. One proverb in Malaysia, where crocodiles are common is “Don’t think there are no crocodiles just because the water is calm.”
5 All proverbs teach us that although societies are changing and becoming more developed every day, there are some basic facts about life and human nature that’ll never change.
A.Whatever advice they give, one thing is true.
B.People use the same proverb in different situations.
C.We often find that there are similar proverbs across cultures.
D.When we need help, we can read proverbs from around the world.
E.The English proverb “A rolling stone gathers no moss.” is one example.

You’re chatting with a friend and want to suggest a good book. All of a sudden, you can’t remember the title! The harder you try to remember, . the more it eludes (使不记得) you. We’ve all been there, and everyone knows how hard it is to remember all the information in your head. 1
● Repeat important information out loud. 2 When you repeat something out loud, you aren’t technically memorizing it. You’re actually creating a pattern (方式) and sound that will make the information easier to remember in the future.
● 3 Turn the TV off while you study and put down the phone while you’re driving. When you do different activities at the same time, your attention is divided, which will make it hard to process (处理) the information necessary to remember what you’re doing.
● Take notes and write things down. Taking notes will help you memorize the information, even if you never look at your notes again! 4 So you’d better use pens and paper if you really want to remember your friend’s birthday or an important meeting.

转折让步关系:but、yet、however、although、instead、though、while、whereas despite等。
并列递进关系:and、or、also、besides、even 、similarly、in the same way、meanwhile、furthermore、moreover等。
因果关系:therefore、thus、as a result、 for this reason 、of course等。
解析、举例关系:for example、for instance、that is to say、in other words、that means等。
巧用代词线索
代词用于指代上文提及的人、事物或整句话。但凡空格前后、选项中出现代词时,应查找到具体代指的内容,代人选项后检查前后语义是否连贯、合乎逻辑。巧用代词线索,不仅有助提高解题速度,而且有助提高答题的准确率。

F.Others think that the proverb is a warning for people who never do anything.

How the Romans influenced English
The Romans lived in Britain for almost 400 years, from 43AD to 410AD.Even though they’re not there anymore, we can still see their influence today, not just in old buildings, but also in the language we use. 1

3 In the past, the Romans used “castrum” to refer to a city. And this became the ending “-chester” , “-caster” , or “-cester” in many place’names. Manchester is a former Roman fort (堡垒) that was called Mamuciam. Other places from the Romans include Lancaster and Leicester.
The Romans introduced the Roman alphabet to English. 4 Old English texts were written in a version that’s not too different from modern English. However, there were some differences, like the symbols “ash” and “eth”. 5
